Aurora by Andreas Christensen Book Summary

On Aurora, humanity's final outpost is heading for disaster

In 2080, the starship Exodus left Earth, carrying some 1600 people, to give humanity a second chance. Now, in 2245, the colonists are trying to build a future on distant Aurora. But the doomed world that sent them on their long voyage had turned authoritarian and repressive, leading a small group to form a plan to let those sent on the Exodus choose a different path.

While Kenneth Taylor struggles to accept his self-imposed silence even on the new world, Thomas Dunn is slowly subverting the colonial administration. Governor George Havelar, on the other hand, plans to make sure the mistakes of the past are not repeated as he proposes a radical plan for human expansion. In the north a simmering discontent is threatening to break up the unity of the human settlement on Aurora, and former scramjet pilot Tina Hammer realizes she cannot stay out of the conflict. And Maria Solis, torn between loyalty to her father's faction and her own desires, is suddenly being forced into the conflict as she witnesses a terrible crime.

With an entire planet to discover, tensions rise as opposing forces work their plans. While the leadership of the colony tries to affirm its control, others are working to regain lost liberties.

Will humanity's final outpost survive the confrontation, or succumb to destruction?

Too Political. Just finished the book, after reading the first and loving it. This one fell flat. Yes, the political strife is there, but jot enough if any inter personal stories. No love affairs, no first child born or even conceived. Throughout human history, mankind has found a way. Just not this band of misfits. The author spends every minute making a political statement and forgot that these characters are people. Characters we liked enough after the first book, to buy this one. Well, I do have book three and will read it soon. But I find I'm in no rush, which generally isn't the case with this author. Shame, if I didn't already own it, I wouldn't bother with the next book.

Very enjoyable. I read it pretty fast. Meaning I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended to sci-fI outer space fans. It does point out some serious flaws in the way our government prioritized issues with society. And how that violence is the only solution.

Good Read. I am looking forward to the final book in the trilogy

Auroa. The saga continues. For Science fiction fans this is a good read, but for the life of me, I can't get my head around using lead projectiles for weapons. As sophisticated as the species are, why doesn't the author inject more technical weaponry?

A good story!. A great story with solid characters, intrigue, and Sci-fi themes woven throughout. Recommended.

Another great read!. After leisurely going through book #1 (EXODUS) in this series, I whipped through book #2 (AURORA) and again wasn’t disappointed! Can’t wait for the next one!

Exodus/Alive/Arora. Great story! Couldn't stop reading, read till my eyes needed to rest so I could see right. I liked "Alive" because I did wonder what happened after impact. Going on to the next book 👽

aurora. Not as good as the first book of the trilogy, Exodus. Okay.

AURORA. I enjoyed this book.

Aurora. I found the book to be consistent with human nature and look forward to reading the last book in the series. There are unanswered questions about Lifebringer and whether these are all starships from earth. I am unable to download “Alive” which may answer these questions. I like the writing and the suspense.

Good book. This is a good book. It’s a little hard to keep up with so many characters but it pays off in the end.

Aurora. Great second book in the series and equally enjoyable as the first.

Aurora. This is the second of the Exodus trilogy. It held my attention. The only problem is that there are typos and it's annoying. Not sure why online versions have far more typos than the books on paper. Going back to paper.

Aurora. Excellent story of a group of survivors looking to preserve their race, while trying to survive their very nature. Looking forward to the next installment.

Sci Fi Tapestry. A well woven tapestry exploring questions of human origin, human nature, human psychology, relationships, genetics, government, politics, war and our innate drive to survive. Aurora is the second installment in this trilogy by author Andreas Christensen, who I just recently discovered...and I'm glad I did! I thoroughly enjoyed the first installment, "Exodus" and this second installment did not disappoint. Well worth the read. Enjoy!

Great book!. So far I've read the first two books of the series and it's awesome! This is a survival story which makes it exciting and mysterious all together. I highly recommend this book if you love mystery/survival stories.

Exodus & Aurora. I downloaded both of these to read and explore ..... From the minute I started reading Exodus, the bug was smitten !!!!! Both these books leave you with a sense of awe, and also an insight into how we, as a race, might behave and survive should such a catastrophe actually occur. I'm now looking forward to the next book with anticipation towards how our new world exploring settlers fare in their endeavours at building a new world, and how they decide on their future & destiny. Regards, Rob.

Aurora. Cracking read 😀

Book. Brilliant series looking forward to starting the next book

Aurora. A wonderful read. Great character development in a short, yet coherent and engaging read. Prescient with respect to today's USA and its parallels with the rise of fascist and totalitarian states. A warning to us all.

Ripping read!. Another beautifully written book that balances an adventurous storyline with characters that drag you heart and soul into their lives.

US civil war analogies on another planet? What’s not to like?. I really enjoyed this book, but the first was better. Poor Maria! What an awful situation to be in. However... It was a bit short and the ending was a bit abrupt, even for an act 2 ending. I will buy the third nonetheless, hopefully it’s a bit meatier.
