Couldn’t put this down!. So this book was on my summer reading list so I picked it up expecting a fluffy happy, let’s twirl in circles and wave our tales but it was totally not that. Khalen is an interesting character to follow but her relationship with the ocean was so toxic it clouded my mind a little. Otherwise great book, I could actually picture Akinli and Khalen baking in his dorm, it was so cute. And then the if he dies she dies thing may be a little overused in some stories but this one took it to a whole other level. Khalen’s depression can be a little dark but it’s ok and overall a great book, I couldn’t put it down.

The Siren. I absolutely loved this book!!! It is now one of my all time favorite books to read, the love story of how the connected and then reconnected was just fantastic!!! I would highly recommend everyone who likes romantic books to read this one!

This book is amazing!!!!. I know it's a few days before the book actually comes out in stores but when I pre-order books from my local non chain bookstore for some reason the books come in a week before they are released and the book store lets me and my best friend take them home that day!! So I just got the book Tuesday 1/19 and I just finished it and it was amazing!! I hope she comes out with a lot more books!! I love he Kiara Cass!!

Thoroughly surprised!. I was a bit skeptical at first but the book was enchanting! The perfect balance of myth and real human struggles. I was immediately caught up in Kahlyn, her story, her struggle, the beauty of the sisterhood and her quest for hope. She is an inspiring heroine and one we can all empathize with. A lovely little book that I am thrilled was published. Finished it in one day.... Couldn't put it down!

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!. I'm VERY excited for this book!!! I LOVED the selection series (like more than life) and I think this will be great!!! I would suggest to read the selection series first though (The selection,The elite,The one,The heir and soon to come out, The crown). Kiera Cass is an amazing author and I literally will not read any other books because no book is better than the selection!!!! So I'm hoping this will be very good.

I farted and pooped my pants. Do you ever think about things and then you’re like no I don’t want to think about things but then you’re like oh my gosh I love thinking about things and then you like what the heck am I thinking about and then you’re like I pooped my pants and then you’re like I don’t know how to poop my pants and then you’re like I don’t want to keep it in my pants I’m not I’m like whoa I’m not on and then I’m like stop

Won’t let me read past Ch.2. I would rate this higher because I actually like it but I purchased this for $12.99 and I can’t read past chapter 2 for some reason.

I've actually read the one she self published. Yes Kiera Cass is known for the selection but I've read the original that she self published and I love it it's one of my favorite books and I will probably buy an actual copy of this book once it comes out. Its a completely different story than the selection and honestly the guy doesn't play a huge roll in the original. Honestly I will be disappointed if he plays a bigger role in the revised book. The original was about how this girl is powerful and she didn't need anyone to protect her and I will be severely disappointed if those themes aren't as prevalent.

Great!. It is a amazing book I just wish the ending was sweeter (I could feel tears in my eyes as I was reading). Otherwise I would totally recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet and fun book that will make their head spin😁

A comparison. (Yes, there are 2 different versions) 📖>📖. As the saying goes: “Nothing beats the original.” It’s not that the new version changed too much, it’s that it removed too much. Entire powerful and important scenes from the original were reduced to mere mentions in the new.  Nearly ever aspect of the story was more fleshed out in the original. We got to see what Akinli does for a living, a better look at his family and the small town of Port Clyde, and more insight into the individual lives and families of the other Sirens. Even the ocean itself felt more Gody, more like the omnipotent being that she is. Kahlan and Akinli’s brief run-in with each other on the beach wasn’t just great foreshadowing, it made sense within the context of their own personal stories prior to their actual meeting. Again, the context of the meeting was mentioned new version, but never explored. In the original, Kahlan and Akinli spent much more time together doing a variety of different things, which led to their love for each other being much more convincing ❤️. Interestingly, there was a moment in the new version that felt like the approach of a film adaptation, where it took 2 scenes from the original and combined them into 1. When Akinli hears Kahlan’s voice for the first time, and when he almost gets taken by the ocean were originally completed separate scenes, and each was more impactful because of it. (Not to say that is method is always best, but in this case, they needed their individual moments to shine.) I didn’t really care for the new ending with the mysterious illness, maybe it’s from having read the original, but it felt very out of place. While the original may have been little more cheesy as it was more in line with a traditional happily-ever-after ending, it felt more grounding and had more finality to it. I put off reading this book because, having read the original, I didn’t really feel the need to. I decide to finally really read it for the soul purpose of comparing the two. And with that, I have now read every Kiera Cass book. And I can’t help but wonder, is Kiera Cass getting worse as time goes on? The original version of The Siren and the first 3 entries in The Selection Series were great and I wouldn’t change a thing 👍. But her latter books, the ending to The Selection and her new series, The Betrothed, have been a dramatic decline 👎.

Great, but.... This book was very well written and descriptive. However, I would only recommend it if you like romance in your novels. I don't really, but I read The Selection because it included other things, including a great plot. This book really only focused on romance, and therefore was kind of hard to get through. You have to be pretty mature to read this because it gets deep at times.

Good Read. I loved the sisterhood in this book! The loyalty between the girls was heartwarming and compelling to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves the sea/mermaids. The only part I didn’t absolutely love was the main characters consistent depression.

Wow. I have always loved reading books about “mermaids” and the like, I especially love the stories that make them seem so real and connected...this is the first one that I’ve come across that actually fit what I have been looking for..a mythological story with such a huge feeling of realism. I was so sucked into this book, and visualized every single line of it as a movie playing in my head. Thank you for such an amazing story, now how am I to ever find another story nearly as good as this one?!

" and I loved". I became a fan of Kiera Cass with the Selection series and now can add Siren to it. This book took a different and romantic take on the mythical creatures we already know about. I would have loved more for it ended to abruptly, but I still was very pleased from cover to cover. Sad it's just a single book and not a series. Would love to see Cass revisit this story.......what happens next?

Wow.. After years of being obsessed with The Selection series, I decided to give this book a go. I was pulled in by the first chapter. This is an amazing book and I hope to see more like it. I really hope for a sequel, but I want to see more of the Ocean.

SEMI. The book was fine, but I expected more. I love The Selection series so this was a let down. But all in all the I would recommend the book as long as you haven't read The Selection series

TheBookReader. I am so excited for this book I love the selection series and this will hopefully distract me from waiting for The Crown

I love the idea of it! But... Kiera Cass is known for The Selection and having her make a different series is exciting, but I pictured The guy she likes exactly like I pictured Prince Maxon! Don't get me wrong I read the preview and I'm very excited!

❤️😆. This book was so good!! My friend insisted I read it and, whew, THANK THE LORD FOR HER!! I’ve read Cass’s other book and series, the selection and happily ever after, but this one book overruled ALL OF THEM!! It was so. Perfect amount of romance ;)

It was terrible!. Everything about this book was cheesy and cliché. The plot line was cheesy and dull, with unrealistic characters, a terrible romance, and the entire thing was uninteresting. I barely could finish this book. I do not recommend this book to anyone.

This is Hands Down The Most Amazing book everrrrr. You need to read this🥺🥺🥺🥺

I LOVE this book. This is my favorite book I love it so much

WOW!. I could have never fathomed the depths of emotions I would feel when reading the pages of this amazing story. I was skeptical at first but the more I read the more I was pulled in to the life of these girls and the story held within. I absolutely recommend it! It made me sad, it made me mad, but above all it filled me up inside!

Great but.... I do understand why people are excited for this book. But for me it's not really original. Kiera Cass used the same font as the Selection and even the girl on the cover looks like a selection princess. I mean I do want to read this book but I just think it needs to have a more legit cover.

Original was 10x better!!. Don't get me wrong, I still like this one. I repurchased what I thought was one of my favorite books to reread (it had previously been on an e-reader I no longer have) and I just thought that the cover had changed. So I got halfway through and though I missed something or that it was later than I thought. I kept reading and didn't remember anything in the second half. The original (which is no longer on shelves) is SOOOO much better. It had more cute stuff with Kahlen and Akinli and the ending was very different. I just ordered the original used off of amazon. If you can get your hands on one I'd 100% recommend it if you loved this version.

Amazing. I started this book yesterday and could not put it down. I am finished with it and I can honestly say it was one of the best books I've ever read. From the Selection to The Siren, Kiera Cass has me under her spell. This story was relatable with a touch of magic. Before this I have never read about mythology and didn't know if it would interest me, but it did! Anyone who gets the chance should read this book.

Speechless. I have no words to describe how amazing this book is!

Oh my goodness.... This is now my favorite book of all time. I love it, I love it, I love it. It was amazing!! Words can't explain how much I loved this book! They just can't!!!

disappointed. i love kiera cass's selection series, but this book is depressing. *spoilers ahead* the character "the ocean" seems to be both evil and good at the same time. this type of character can work sometimes, however it does not work in this novel. i couldn't stand how weak kahlen was when dealing with the ocean. she begged and pleaded with the ocean every time the ocean tried to hurt someone she loved. kahlen also evidently loved the ocean despite the fact that he ocean killed her family and makes kahlen a killer. it was frustrating to read and very depressing. the love story was deeply lacking as it was built on only a few days of interaction. highly recommend the selection series because the the main character is much stronger throughout the entire series and the love story is more developed.

okok. this was pretty good, but it was really sad how she didn’t get to see any of her siren friends anymore. definitely read though

Beautiful and deeply sad. This story goes deep into your emotions as it paints a beautifully heart breaking story

Lovely Story. Beautifully written

Wow!!! 5 star worthy!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. This is such an amazing book filled with suspense and characteristics. This book almost made me brake down into a pool of tears. I was very amazed at how Kiera Cass pur all these events into a sequence and I would definitely recommend this book to another reader. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Beautiful. In every sense of the word.

Da best. The book was amazing and I can't wait until smoke in the sun comes out!!

Awesome. I picked this up last night and couldn't put it down. Kiera Cass is amazing as always the sirens and the story line is to die for. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the selection series.

Good. This book is good but personally I don't think it's as amazing as the selection series I still thought it was great but there where a lot of parts that where almost boring to read. I still recommend the book🤗

Fav book!!!. I have read this book multiple times... it is still my favourite book. (Usually I can only read a book once) This book is a must read for all romance/ sea lovers!
