Blue by Danielle Steel Book Summary

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Ginny Carter was once a rising star in TV news, married to a top anchorman, with a three-year-old son and a full and happy life in Beverly Hills—until her whole world dissolved in a single instant on the freeway two days before Christmas. In the aftermath, she pieces her life back together and tries to find meaning in her existence as a human rights worker in the worst areas around the globe.

Then, on the anniversary of the fateful accident—and wrestling with the lure of death herself—she meets a boy who will cause her life to change forever yet again. Thirteen-year-old Blue Williams has been living on the streets, abandoned by his family, rarely attending school, and utterly alone. Following her instincts, Ginny reaches out to him. Leery of everyone, he runs from her again and again. But he always returns, and each time, their friendship grows.

Blue glows with outsized spirit and an irresistible mix of innocence and wisdom beyond his years. Ginny offers him respect as they form an unusual bond and become the family they each lost. But just as Blue is truly beginning to trust her, she learns of a shocking betrayal that he has been hiding. Is it a wound too deep to heal, or will she be able to fight the battle that will make them both whole again?

Blue is #1 New York Times bestselling author Danielle Steel at her finest, a probing and emotionally gripping story of dark secrets revealed, second chances, and the power of love and courage to overcome life’s greatest challenges.

Good read!. The storyline was great! Thoroughly enjoyed reading it, but the grammar and punctuation had a lot to be desired; made it hard to read at times. If you need an editor, let me know.

Blue. What a great book! Picked it up to read and couldn't put it down until the end...only 3 nights. I love Danielle Steele and have read almost ll her books......her books hit home!!!

Blue. Nice to read one of her books that she didn't go on and on about how beautiful and rich the main character is!! I really enjoyed it. Get back in touch with real people's lives Danielle and write about that.

A terrific heartwarming story….peaches6550. I never fail to be amazed at what a powerful storyteller Danielle Steele is. She constantly amazes me with her abilities to weave her tales and blend several stories together in a true to life scenario that pulls the reader in and pushes one forward as fast as you can to find out the outcome. Ive read most of her books, but Blue was one of her best I believe.

Blue. I absolutely loved this book! It truly touched my heart. I couldn't put it down. Don't miss this one. It's fantastic!

Danielle Steel’s ‘Blue’ Is Uplifting and Inspiring [REVIEW]. In Danielle Steel’s latest bestselling novel, Blue, former journalist Ginny Carter works in the trenches of some of the most dangerous hot spots on the planet, helping others as a human rights activist. She pays no heed to the danger she faces every moment of the day, much to the chagrin of her sister. Yet having suffered from so much personal loss herself, Ginny feels she has nothing left to lose, at least until the fateful night a 13-year-old homeless boy named Blue enters her life. As the two become friends, old wounds open and suddenly Ginny finds herself on a new crusade, one that could bring the entire world down on both of them and ultimately change both their lives forever. Danielle Steel is a writer who is as fearless as her heroine, and with Blue she proves that she is still at the top of her game as she deftly juggles tough topics other authors shy away from, including: grief, loss, dementia, child abuse, and homelessness, not to mention the myriad problems plaguing third world countries. But don’t let those topics deter you from picking up this book. As with all of Steel’s work, Blue resonates with hope, despite the dark subject matter. Most of all, this is a novel about forgiveness, redemption, and second chances, and it is is beautifully punctuated with the author’s trademark optimism, even in the face of tragedy. Readers will undoubtedly connect with this novel on multiple levels. Blue speaks to the humanitarian in each of us, particularly as Ginny strives to take on some of the largest problems facing mankind today. On a smaller scale, Ginny’s struggle to find balance between her career, family, and helping the very special child in her life is an equally precarious challenge most of us can identify with. These thematic layers is what makes Steel’s novel shine and is what brings her characters vividly to life, and you will surely find yourself cheering for each of them. A book that is tumultuous and heartbreaking, Blue is equally uplifting and inspiring. But perhaps Steel sums the theme of this novel up best when she writes, “Every day, good stuff and bad stuff happens to us. It’s what you do about it and how you handle it that matters. You just can’t let it break you. You have to keep fighting.” (300) Pick up a copy of Blue today. I promise you that it is one of the most heartfelt, inspiring, and ultimately rewarding reads of the year. Blue. Held me well enough. My only complaint was that the "deep doodoo" parts were little more than soiled bloomers. Things worked out all for the better a little too easily.

Blue. Was a magical book. Kept me reading. I love Danielle Steele.
