The Survivalist (Frontier Justice) by Arthur T. Bradley Book Summary

When you finish the Survivalist, check out my new series, "The Watchman."

Frontier Justice is the first book in the post-apocalypse Survivalist series by Dr. Arthur Bradley and features 15 full-page illustrations. The Superpox-99 virus has wiped out nearly the entire human race. Governments have collapsed. Cities have become graveyards filled with unspeakable horror. People have resorted to scavenging from the dead, or taking from the living. The entire industrialized world has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, decaying bodies, and feral animals.

To stay alive, U.S. Deputy Marshal Mason Raines must forage for food, water, and gasoline while outgunning those seeking to take advantage of the apocalyptic anarchy. Together with his giant Irish wolfhound, Bowie, he aligns with survivors of the town of Boone in a life and death struggle against a gang of violent criminals. With each deadly encounter, Mason is forced to accept his place as one of the nation's few remaining lawmen.

Halfway across the country, a killer is released from prison. With hopes set on a fresh start, he rescues a young girl desperate to get home. As they travel across the wasteland that once was the United States, they must call upon every bit of strength and courage to survive not only the horrors of the new world but also a violent government agenda.

Dialogue is weak. Starts off ok but fall apart once dialogue is introduced

Captivating. I couldnā€™t put it down. It was a truly captivating read.

Best in the genre. This is the best series I have read in the post-apocalyptic/survival scenario genre and Iā€™ve read a lot of them. The characters are like-able and yet they evolve through the books, and the story is endlessly entertaining.

Great read. Loved the entire thing... Almost couldnā€™t put it down! Canā€™t wait to start the next!

Machismo and bad writing. Killing defined in detail, but of course itā€™s all okay - the hero decides who lives and dies. This book embodies what I would imagine ex-President Duterte of The Philippines told himself to justify allowing citizens to kill people whom they ā€œsuspectedā€ of dealing drugs. ā€œDrawing down on the two men seemed justifiable in this new world where every man had to be accountable for his actions.ā€ Misogyny: ā€œPlease donā€™t feel tHe need to do anything so womanishly stupid in the future.ā€ The heroā€™s comment to his lover when she tries to help him. The President of the USA is a woman in the book - and of course she is portrayed as weak. The most trite similes and metaphors I have ever read: ā€œthe bodies lay limp in the car like overcooked noodles . . . He could become as violent and unpredictable as a loan shark collecting unpaid bets. . . They walked toward him slow and easy, like matadors approaching toro bravo.ā€ UGH - what a waste of valuable time.

Great book. I liked it a lot, Most books I get bored of quickly but this one I finished to the end and I wanted to read the others, But unfortunately Iā€™m broke.

Couldn't put it Down!!!. What an excellent book!! It keeps you interested from the very start and just keeps getting better. If your looking for a great read that makes you think about what could happen to this world, pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

Great story. A good start to a tough look at our future.

Great read!. Loved this book. Much more believable than a zombie outbreak. Love the main character. All around good book.

Awful Garbage. This is idiotic prepper fanfiction. The writer is mediocre, sophomoric in his approach to and understanding of dialog, characters are shallow and unbelievable caricatures of archetypes. Side plots are purely filler. I rarely stop reading a book before finishing it, but this is worth quitting early.

The Survivalist Book 1. Good read, fast moving, almost surreal. This is where our country seems to be heading.

Wi. Reader. Really enjoyed this author, after reading 1 went on to 2 and so on now waiting for 10 to come out! I am currently not working so for me to put money down for these books took food out of my mouth, but it was worth it! Once I am employed again I plan on purchasing his prepped books also. Thanks for helping me pass my time as I wait for a job opportunity Dr. Bradley.

Good apocalyptic cowboy yarn. This is an enjoyable quick read. My only wish is that the President and Vice President would have been switched. Otherwise, Iā€™m invested in the protagonists and look forward to reading more.

Good read!. Good read, Iā€™ll preview the second book.

The survivalist - frontier justice. It may be this first in a series needs to spend some time developing the characters but it seem to be at the price of a plot that dragged on. Too many characters introduced which is contrary to what one would expect from the end-of-the-world scenario. Lots of discussion on guns but not many survivlist techniques like cutting a plastic sandwich bag to use as a funnel. Okay story but not what i thought it would be.

Missing pages!?. I am thoroughly enjoying the book, but there are certain pages missing. Anyone know what that's about?

The Survivalist. This was a very intriguing book...read it in 2 days...just couldnā€™t put it down. Will be reading 2nd book in series without a doubt.

A fine read. My thanks to you Mr Bradley. I enjoyed feasting on your book and completed it in one scrumptious read fest. I will, not surprisingly, be on the lookout more from you. Len

The Survivourlist Fronteer. Excellent reading!!!!!

Great!. The Survivalist: Frontier Justice was awesome. The raw action is fast paced and the motivations are believable. In this apocalyptic scenario, justice is swift!

Awesome. Great story line ,cannot wait to see what happens next.

Only One Thing Missing. Well-wrought story. My only thought was during the initial time of the identification of the deputies. What, no Vietnam or "Storm" veterans? No retired Army, Marine, or SeaBees willing to defend hearth and home? Even in a population of 1,200 average citizens some certainly experienced military life.

The Survivalist adventure. Quick read. I could not put it down.

Justify meets mad max. Marshall Raines reminds me of Timothy Olaphants character on justify a great character. Tanner and Sam are great. The banter between them is hilarious and heartwarming at the same time. The series is fast paced and hard to put down. Also informative as far as being prepared for the apocalypse.

Terrible. Don't even bother downloading it's a waste of time. I guess you can't expect much from a free book

Great light reading?. Another clone of the western male power fantasy (please donā€™t misunderstand, I donā€™t think itā€™s a ā€˜ā€™man thingā€ I think itā€™s an ā€œauthor hasnā€™t had live interaction in a whileā€ thing.) Flat characters, vaguely -ist stereotypes of various kinds, violence with no point other than to make the main character look handsome or whatever. Uninspired villains, microwave leftovers cataclysm, utterly ridiculous ā€œromanceā€, but not as bad as some things Iā€™ve read. I know. Iā€™m mean. I just feel like; the author obviously has an excellent command of the English language, he could have put more soul into it. But we all have to make a living I guess.

Waiting on book 12. Glad the first was free, got me hooked. Spent ~Ā£50 on the rest of the series, worth every penny!

Good Read.. Loved this story, nice to get real hard men for a change, no sympathy for the bad guys here, got this book for free but Iā€™m just about to purchase the 2nd volume, I actually read the whole book in one sitting.

Excellent Novel with Practical Insight. The Survivalist is packed full of practical preparedness tips cloaked in an engaging and exciting story. My favourite character is definitely Bowie.

Very chauvinistic read. I started this read with enthusiasm, however it was quickly replaced with disappointment. Although well written with some strong characters the chauvinistic attitudes towards woman left me gaging!!

The Survivalist. Thoroughly enjoyed this book Looking forward to reading the rest of the series

Good job. Well written, well researched, interesting characters and an ongoing plot that makes you want to know more.......

The Survivalist. Melodrama central. Over it. And to think there are (at least?) four more to drudge through. All that needs to happen now is a B-grade movie that the masses will flock to like lemmings to the sea - whatā€™s left of it (pun intended) ā€¦while we shiver in our shoes awaiting our own demise and secretly hoping that we get to be the hero. The hero is, of course, a man and needs to save the defensless women. Pfft.

The survivalist (frontier justice). Loved this book! Read it all in one sitting. s.cake

Survival. I got pulled into the book right from the first chapter! A little different and a little the same storyline but all in all a good read

Hard to put down. The main character is definitely the person we want around for the end of the world. Amazing storyline. Very believable.

Good writing. The text is flowing. A good read

The Survivalist. Action packed from beginning to end. Leaves you wanting more . Now to find out what happens to the presidents daughter. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Interesting Read. Pretty good character development, good action scenes, plot moves in a predictable manner.

The survivalist. Excellent zombie apocalypse book.Good to the last page.
