The truth is, Enoch is the last surviving veteran of the American Civil War and, for close to a century, he has operated a secret way station for aliens passing through on journeys to other stars. But the gifts of knowledge and immortality that his intergalactic guests have bestowed upon him are proving to be a nightmarish burden, for they have opened Enoch’s eyes to humanity’s impending destruction. Still, one final hope remains for the human race . . . though the cure could ultimately prove more terrible than the disease.

Quiet and Thoughtful SF. The book’s voice is peace as the only man on Earth who knows about the aliens faces a crisis after a century of stasis.
Way Station. Story was was comfortable, challenging and totally unique. It does not end as you would expect when you start reading it.
Wonderful boom. Well written, different, and a great story.
Gets better as it goes. The first half of this book is interesting, but not much happens. About halfway through, the story finally picks up and you don’t want to put it down.
The Way Station. I was totally involved with this book. I found myself thinking about what would happen next throughout the day when I wasn’t reading it. But I was completely disappointed with the ending.
