One of my fav historical romances. I loved the way this book was written. Through each letter you could see the love between them grow, and the character development was just brilliant. A total must read!

It was a good book.. I was surprised this was a good read. I have to admit that my standards were low because the cover looks a bit cheesy, but it was a well written, and emotional book. The only thing I didn’t like was the secret league that Griffin belonged to and the pact he mad as a child. I think it was childish, specially when he returned, to keep to that code.

Interesting and historically accurate. Enjoyed the historic war and battles woven into the story. Characters drew me into the story. Lengthy, but not needlessly so.

Good title.. Very well written. I myself do not like the x-rated parts. They tend to cheapen the story. Guess I come from a generation where what happens in the bedroom stays there. Leave the sex scenes to the imagination. Don’t know if I want to read he next book.

Barely a Bride. I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review. This is a love her and leave her type of book with a significant difference. Before Alyssa met Griffin she overheard him discussing his Free Fellows club when at the age of 9 and 10 he and two friends made a pact not to marry until forced and even then never to fall in love with the person they married. Even knowing that she still accepted his offer of marriage in exchange for the freedom to design a garden of her own and the freedom from her mother who wanted a Duke for her not merely a Viscount. Griffin just needed a wife and an heir if he was to follow his life long dream of joining the Cavalry. His father insisted on marriage for his only son to avoid the end of his line and managed to persuade his commanding officer not to accept him unless he was married. So they married and after a passion filled 4 days he left her to go to war. War changes life and significantly for these two. Would she ever see Griffin again? I loved the characters in this book. Alyssa was no simpering debutante and Griffin no selfish only son. I read it long into the night because it was unputdownable. I will be buying the remaining books in this series. It was that good. Thank you Rebecca Hagen Lee for a great story.
