Excuse me.... I liked Alex and Lucas’ story to an extent, there were so many things wrong with it, the fact that all their friends and family were against them... rubbish but the worse part of this book is the casual way this author peddles paedophilia (Jacob and Lily), it is so ridiculous and for that alone this book gets 1 star. I mean come on! That was gross!

It’s complicated. I didn’t know what to expect going in to read Complicate Me. I’ve enjoyed every other book from Mrs. Robinson so I went into this one with an open mind although I hate contemporary romance with a passion. With that being said the dynamic between Alex and Lucas kept you on your toes waiting with fear on where their lives will lead them. I can say I was angry with most of their family and friends for more than half of the book. I think they had a lot to do with some of the hurt and pain Alex and Lucas went through. The prologue was very, very good and sucked you in right off the bat. The rest was a bumpy ride and at times I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be. You found yourself saying, “how many ups and downs can one couple go through before it’s no longer worth it?” We see Alex, Lucas, and the boys grow up from children to adults. We see them grow apart and find their way back to each other. You feel what they feel and you just want to take them all aside and tell them to live life for themselves and not to worry about what anyone else thinks or feels. I could easily see this book and this series playing on the big screen as part of a series starting from the beginning. Although it’s a very different genre from what we’re used to seeing from M, it’s still very much her signature style. Complicate Me did just that. It was messy, complicated, and at times painful to bear but in the end I believe they came out stronger and the bond they share held up through the test of time.

Yes!. I was a little nervous about starting this series because I read a few reviews stating that it felt a little drawn out. I have been known to skip a few pages here and there when I felt like I wasn’t connecting and just ready to finish the book. However, I did not feel that way with this book and the others in this series. The “lengthy” description is there for a purpose. It draws you into these characters and helps you dive into their world. I connected with every character and understood how deep the love was between them. You know how you sometimes have a book coma when you get done with an amazing one? That happened to me. You won’t be disappointed.

Eh. Lots of hype but no substance. It was well written but lacked the edge that was boasted. It was too long and drug out parts that could have been summed up to get a better picture.

TERRIBLE MESSAGE - WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND. Boys will be boys and good girls sacrifice everything! F that! This book sends a terrible message. Each chapter made me angrier and angrier.

Awesome book!. It is a great book. I have never written a review before, but this one deserves it. It is a very emotional story with a good ending. Can't wait for Jacob's story.

All the feels!!!. This book did something to my soul. I never review books. I’ll rate them, but this book had me screaming, up til 1 am, crying, begging for Alex and Lucas to finally get it together!!

You'll laugh, cry and everything between. <3 this book. Let start off by saying like everything that M. Robinson writes, this is full of emotions and angst, but unlike the books she has wrote in the past this is sweet romance. I love that she is able to step out of her comfort zone of what she always has done and is able to write Complicate Me. This is the first book in the Good 'Ol Boy series. This book made me laugh and cry and almost every emotion between. M. Robinson books never are cookie cutter books that you are able to predict everything that will happen when you are a third of the way in. She keeps you at the end of your seat needing more, more and more. I am so glad to be able to have read this and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. Even though this is still a sweet romance she still adds some spice here and there. Take the time to read this book you won't be sorry.

Vague. Really boring didn’t grab my attention

Amazing. I haven’t felt so connected to a story in such a long time. Being able to watch these characters grow up was so heart wrenching and special. I admit, a re-edit, republish would be very ideal, but the story remains perfectly unmatched. This is raw and beautifully written. The intensity of each milestone truly resonates with the readers. I definitely can picture, and am crossing my fingers, this making its way into a movie.

Absolutely loved it!!!! 😍😍😍. I truly loved Bo and Half-Pint's love story. Talk about a hot complicated mess!! This book made me laugh, cry, mad, sad and all of the above! I especially loved that the book narrated from their childhood and on. And the ending was perfect. This story signifies that what happens in the past doesn't matter. You can go through countless heartaches, but when the right time comes, you still and always will follow your heart.

Loved it. I ended up reading Undo Me before this one. I thought Undo Me was good, this one may have topped it! I truly love this author and this series. Very long, drawn out love story, but it’s so worth. I may have cried a few times throughout the story. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Decent. The plot and idea of the book is honestly heartbreaking and sweet and everything that I’m looking for in a love story. BUT, I could not for the love of all great things finish it due to how unsupportive all the other characters were towards Alex and Lucas. It’s just messed up and too repetitive.

Definitely 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟. So worth losing sleep over!!!

...just simply amazing. (please note that i NEVER give five star ratings, the most is a four, and i’m brutally honest) i actually enjoyed the storyline a lot. i loved watching them grow up, it really added to the bond. i felt every bit of heartache, every bit of loss, anxiety when the characters did, and joy along with them. i’m excited to read the sequels but i don’t think anything can top the bond of Lucas and Alex, Bo and Half-Pint. i couldn’t put it down. this was an ideal book for me, the story i knew i needed yet couldn’t find. all i can say is well done. everything wrapped up as it should, no loose ends. i can’t help but analyze each motif, each form of rhetorics in here. beautifully written, and will be heavily recommended!!

Dang. This book hit me in the feels, it was a beautifully written book

Good story line. Good Story.. I understand it needed the background story told but it seemed really drawn out. The storyline was awesome and heart wrenching but I just think it could’ve been told in a shorter time.

Complicate Me. First time reading this author. Good writer who wrote a compelling story of young star crossed lovers. It held my interest throughout even though I am a mature reader. Because I am, it could be a little too descriptive for my taste, useing language for body parts that turn me off rather than turn me on. But these days I am sure I am in the minority judging from all the writers who are doing the same thing, and all the readers who don’t seem to mind it in their rave reviews and don’t mention it.

Read it. This is by far one of the best books I’ve ever read. I cried, I laughed, I felt heartache. It was truly unlike anything I have read before. I was instantly drawn in. Every character was real. It played out before me like a movie. Only great books can work that kind of magic on me. Talented writing all around. Also, I laughed when I finally realized Austin is also from El Diablo.

Complicate me. OMG absolutely loved this book. Characters all so real. Lucas so hot. Alex so lovely. Very well written. Would highly recommend. Will be reading more by this author.

Great read. Loved reading this! Loved the story and the characters, I couldn’t put it down. I read the first book in this series and loved it just as much! A little disappointed the third one is no longer available 😢. I could easily carry on reading the rest of the characters stories.

An emotional coming of age novella. This is the story of the lives of 5 friends who grow up together from birth, learn, love and protect each other. And fall in love - the soul mate kind of connection no one can understand or explain but is connected together no matter what. A lifelong bond that you only read about. As teenagers they experiment and hurt each other then grow up into adults and find their way back to each other. It’s very emotional and tear jerking. 4.5 stars/5 - who ever thought it was okay to have sex with someone just because they were ‘just some girl’ when you are in love with someone else. Of course it’s going to hurt them! Everyone knows that, even teenagers. A few typos but not enough to take you out of the story, just irritate. And a bit drawn out. There are many, many highs and lows.

Beautiful love story. A story I’ll never forget about a bunch of young best friends that love each but encounter growing pains over the years. Must read-Get the tissues ready!
