Called by the Bear - Book 1 Book Summary

I’m Carly Cutler and my dreams predict the future. So why am I dreaming about a sexy beast of a guy, a bear, and a paw print design? I don’t know. A force I can’t fight wants me to find out, and I’m leaving the only life I’ve ever known. With a fresh tattoo of a bear paw and my best friend by my side, I’m on a quest to find a man I’ve never met.

Sierra Steele here, and ready for adventure – We’ve been chosen. The moment I saw Carly’s first tattoo, I felt the undeniable attraction of the guy I’ve been dreaming about. My cautious friend can’t resist the pull either, and we’re off to the mountains to get answers. Something’s calling us, and I’m certain the hunky men are our exciting destiny. They’ll keep us safe from the bear, right?

Called by the Bear - Book 1 - V. Vaughn Reviews

  • Ugh..... might be good but

    By krazy4tink
This might be a good book but the author writes in the first person. After reading I..., I..., I..., so many times I couldn't even remember the main characters name. It just didn't work for me. I gave up after 20 pages.
  • Great series

Actually, this is the first 3 books in the series not just the 1st book. I really love this series, besides the "call" background it goes into the some of the complications of the different clans. I like that not everything is hunky dory. Yes in someways there are HEA or HFN but I like that not everyone is matched to who they thought they were. Oh and there's the pretty sexy parts that are there too! Wait til you see what happens to one of the gals! She's not a happy camper at all. Book doesn't end in a cliffhanger but does give a hint at what comes in next one and not all issues are resolved. Absolutely love V. Vaughns writing, she doesn't disappoint. Recommend to all the shifter lovers out there. Besides the book is free, how can you go wrong?!
  • Great beginning to the series

I love that Violet Vaughn has brought us back to werebears with this series. You get to see some old favorites and meet new ones too. If you enjoy Shifter romances then I highly recommend this book to you.
  • Almost OK to read

    By Lexrobinson
The writing style-past tense the entire time yikes- is distracting at best. If you can get around the rough writing style, the story itself is almost barely worth the read. Would be an inventive plot if the characters weren't so bland. If you like women that are constantly complaining about their bodies, while simultaneously saying their bodies are better than everyone else's then this book is for you. The only really good thing about the book is that it's free. Don't waste your time though.
