Rich Dad Poor Dad

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki Book Summary

In Rich Dad Poor Dad, the #1 Personal Finance book of all time, Robert Kiyosaki shares the story of his two dad: his real father, whom he calls his ‘poor dad,’ and the father of his best friend, the man who became his mentor and his ‘rich dad.’ One man was well educated and an employee all his life, the other’s education was “street smarts” over traditional classroom education and he took the path of entrepreneurship…a road that led him to become one of the wealthiest men in Hawaii. Robert’s poor dad struggled financially all his life, and these two dads—these very different points of view of money, investing, and employment—shaped Robert’s thinking about money.

Robert has challenged and changed the way tens of millions of people, around the world, think about money and investing and he has become a global advocate for financial education and the path to financial freedom. Rich Dad Poor Dad (and the Rich Dad series it spawned) has sold over 36 million copies in English and translated editions around the world.

Rich Dad Poor Dad will…
• explode the myth that you need to earn a high income to become rich
• challenge the belief that your house is an asset
• show parents why they can’t rely on the school system to teach their kids
about money
• define, once and for all, an asset and a liability
• explain the difference between good debt and bad debt
• teach you to see the world of money from different perspectives
• discuss the shift in mindset that can put you on the road to financial freedom

- Awesome book!!!!5 star

This book was fantastic! I read it and stayed completely interested and I’m only 16! I would totally recommend this book

- Robert Kiyoscami the Hawaiian Huckster1 star

I could go on a big long rant about this anti-intellectual superficial inauthentic and phony con man who endorses MLM but that would be a waste of time, look up John T Reed who exposes everything about this Hawaiian version of Donald Trump. Even Robert admits his books are meant to be motivational, who needs a bunch of motivational ra ra books? That has to come from within, that’s why it’s nothing but a bogus sham, he offers no practical advice which is what people really need. I’d give this zero stars if I could.

- My brother sent me $50 to buy this 8 dollar book ima read it5 star

Have a blessed year

- Racist1 star

How can you be an Arthur, a suppose intellectual but yet so small minded and ignorant?! His recent tweets proves he’s a racist and a money hungry con-man. His books should all be taken off the shelves(including online) and burned. You sir are a true loser in morality and to humanity.

- Pedestrian1 star

Awful rehash of a lifelong quest of greed and self-importance. This book is disposable in every way.

Great book. This book changed how I view money

- This man is just another seminar scam artist1 star

Nothing of substance in this book, it’s just a thinly veiled attempt to sell you into some seminar. They partnered with Amway, if that tells you anything. Don’t give this scammer your money.

- Don’t become part of the Rat Race5 star

Enjoyed every page. And I didn’t want to put it down. Definitely a read worth reading again and again. Great insight and motivation to make you want to get out of the Rat Race.

- A wonderful Read5 star

Almost better than the Total Money Makeover. It completely changed my way of thinking about money.

- Eye Opener5 star

This book helped me open my eyes to what I was seeing this whole time. I am more determined now more than ever to use the knowledge this book has taught me in my pursuit to get rich!

- Great Book5 star

A lesson we don’t usually have, that can help you form, shape and follow a great economics/accounting point of view.

- Focus5 star

Definitely inspires you to be focused on a bigger aspect of life. Make money work for you!

- Eh1 star

I’ve read better, this guy idolizes trump... enough said. Decent book wildly repetitive content from the author in different words. Book also has many spelling and grammatical errors that are down right embarrassing for an “educated man” like the author claims to be. Poor reading experience, Where the Wild Things Are is way better than this dribble.

- Life5 star

Don’t work for money, Let money work for you.

- Amazing5 star

Changed my whole life

- Brand new eyes5 star

If you’re not open minded don’t read this book. I’m a 18 year old looking for financial literacy and freedom. This book will def show you that thru Roberts eyes.

Phenomenal book! Provided great insights and invaluable knowledge.

- Life changing5 star

This book has opened my eyes to a brand new world. It doesn't tell you how to make a million dollars, so don't think it has secrets to make millions in it. Instead, it shows you how the majority of Americans fall into a trap and how to avoid it. Very insightful and put me on the path to financial freedom. Can't recommend it enough!

- Informative4 star

I enjoyed this book, it opened my eyes to quite a few things. I look at things differently now.

- Inspiring and telling5 star

Easy read and great eye opening information

- Amazing5 star

- #lifechanger5 star

This book has shifted my future! My path is my goal will stay with me to the end of time and I can already see sharing this again and again! I’m not sure there will ever be enough gratitude for this and the beautiful people who recommended it! It comes at a time where I’m starting a large company and now know I will turn it into an asset and the funds I get will be assets paying for assets and life! So excited!

- Ermm it's not bad3 star

Very encouraging and motivating start..half way through the book, I find it to be less interesting. Guy talks about getting out of debt, then goes right into buying and investing in properties by dropping 30-40grands?

- Thanks ROBERT5 star

- Great book5 star

Really great book. Wish I had read it years ago. Brilliant financial education. They should make you read this in school instead of all the usual rubbish which added very little value to people’s lives. If your thinking of buying it just do it. It’s a very worthwhile investment.

- What next?5 star

I'm a 16 year old junior in highschool. I saw Tai Lopez on YouTube and, disregarding all of the claims of scamming surrounding him, I followed his general message which I interpreted as self-improvement through self-education. I decided I would start reading books teaching finance skills because I will be financially free. I looked up good books involving this and Rich Dad Poor Dad caught my eye. I angered a lot of my teachers because I had my phone out when really I was just reading this book. Being full of highlighted and underlined passages, I feel I will consult this many times in the future. Right now, I'm trying to find the next book to read.

Great book

- Rich dad Poor dad5 star

I'm from Memphis Tennessee, and I must say, this book is awesome! For years, I have been saving money really good, and after a couple of years at my job, I realized that it was time to do something different with my money in the bank. So, after I was motivated by my girlfriend, I decided to spend my money on a Real Estate investment class that was visiting my city, which ultimately lead to the establishment of a business. After searching on YouTube (seeking more knowledge), I came across your E, S, B, I quadrant. Which was right to the point and really answered the questions I have had for years, which is how do I get out of this same ordinary life (the rat race)? Then after purchasing Rich dad Poor dad, man I tell you, so far it's the best book I've ever read. Thank you so much for taking the time out and writing this book, this is surely the education people need, great job!!

- Rich dad poor dad4 star

Before this book I can honestly say I was a financial nomad! Mr. Kiyosaki’s book will not fix your financial problems, it will fix your thought process. Read “The Poor Man’s Achilles Heel” as well, if you really change your relationship with money.

- Great Book5 star

Really gets you thinking

- Rich dad5 star

This book has truly changed my perspective managing my money and how actual cash flow works

- Everyone5 star

You just have to read...

- Financial Freedom5 star

I love this book. It has really given me insight on the rights and wrongs on what to do with my money. Feeding my financial genius I feel more confident going forward. Can't wait to read more from this author. A must read!
