A Demon’s Dark Embrace. This one is my least favorite book in this series. I actually skipped this one and read all the others first. Others were so good I went ahead and bought this one too. It was ok but I just found it droned along in places.

A Demon’s Dark Embrace. I didn’t know how I was going to feel about this book! I love Ristan and the other guards but Syn and Ryder’s story was so enthralling that I was afraid to stray from it. Well this did not disappoint and I’m so happy I realized quickly that I was missing information in the Fae Chronicles and that the reading order involves many series that tie into the main storyline! Love love love these books!

Definitely a 5 Star book!. Amelia Hutchins knows how to please her readers, this was honestly dark, dangerous, bloody, sexy, and makes your heart throb. Saying it was stellar is a understatement! Need my next Amelia Hutchins book fix! Soon!

Absolutely Loved it. This book was definitely worth the wait & I think I fell more in love with the demon!!! I didn't really know what to expect with book but it absolutely blew my mind how great this story was & now I'm hoping we get another book or more about them in the future!!!

A Demon’s Dark Embrace. Loved this addition to Amelia Hutchins' Fae Chronicles and I like how these new Elite Guard books are weaving through the existing timeline in Faery. I loved that we get to learn more about the guards and their back stories. It also appears that these stories/couples will be single-book HEAs, which I so STOKED about! Must Read!

To be read before Unraveling Destiny. So reading this out of order is not recommended. This fills in the gaps you would have if you read Unraveling Destiny before this book. Plus having to backtrack, several parts are mundane because you already read what is supposed to happen only you don’t know the how it happened. So please read this before Unraveling Destiny. It is imperative to read Ristan’s story and what the full history of both him and how Olivia is what she is and how she became important to Ristan. Very good read.

Read NOW!!!. ‘A Demon’s Dark Embrace’ is the first book in The Elite Guards Series. This is a companion series to The Fae Chronicles Series. The Fae Chronicles series is not required to have been read before reading this book but it would be more enjoyable if you have. ‘A Demon’s Dark Embrace’ runs alongside ‘Seducing Destiny’ from the The Fae Chronicles series. This book is about Ristan the Demon brother from the Horde’s Elite Guard and Olivia a librarian from the Witches Guild. If you have read ‘Seducing Destiny’ you will remember when Ristan was tortured and that he had taken Olivia to “question”. Well now you chance to find out how that went. I really enjoyed reading about Ristan and Olivia. There was a few things that I wasn’t to happy about like, how easily Olivia believed Cyrus, the constant threats from Danu and how Ristan would dismiss help and get annoyed with Ryder or Synthia when he was always butting into their lives in the previous books. But other then that it’s was a wonderful story with a great pace of events. And so the Demon fell in love with an Angel xx

Missing Information. Reading this novel felt like I walked into a conversation that was already started and I struggled to try and fill in the gaps. Within the first few chapters there were so many characters and references to things that I didn’t know about that I had to stop and double check to make sure that I hadn’t started reading the series out of order. This is in fact the first book in the Elite Guard series, However I’m assuming that it is somewhat of a continuation on Amelia Hutchins other books? It often references story lines and characters not in this book. At times it was a bit confusing, but I was able to piece it together well enough to somewhat enjoy the book. I’m curious to know what other series or how many other books a person would have to read in order to fully understand everything that was happening in this book. If I’m wrong and this book was not a continuation from another series, well then, it was a hot mess with a poorly formed storyline.
