Glittering Court. This book is everything I have been looking for! With the mysterious start, amazing twist of fate and shocking ending. Absolutley Amazing!

It good but not really good. I can’t seem to get into it which really disappoints me considering I loved Vampire Academy. The descriptions seem really drawn out and nothing about it really excites me. I don’t love the characters, but what is most disappointing to me is the romance.

Soooo disappointed. I've been a fan of richelle meads for years and loved loved loved vampire academy and bloodlines, but this was horrible. I felt like this wasn't even the same author who's previous books I loved and have reread. At first I thought that the beginning sounded good, I was kind of interested and figured why not since I like her other works. Obviously I was wrong. I kept waiting for it to get good and be up to par with her other works but that never happened. I was super dissatisfied and disappointed and hope her next book is better

Worst book of hers I've read.. Pedestrian, slow of action, and though this sounds impossible, the book is less believable than her other paranormal adventures. I love everything else she's written, except this though, and will still follow her as a writer, but not this series. I think her succubus books are her best work followed by the vampire series.

Just a romance novel!. The Glittering Court is the latest book by Richelle Mead. Countess of Rothford, Lady Witmore wants a different life. She is expected to marry someone with money and a title (especially since she has no money). That is not what she wants. Her grandmother, Lady Alice Witmore has arranged a marriage to a cousin, Lionel Belshire with an extremely dominating grandmother. The dominating grandmother, Lady Dorothy, states they cannot bring their staff with them. Lady Alice has arranged for Ada to get a position with The Glittering Court. It is an opportunity for young ladies (from the lower classes) to marry well in Adoria (a land that is similar to our Old West but with fancier clothes). Ada, though, does not wish to leave Osfrid (even if it is a great opportunity for her). Cedric Thorn, son of Charles Thorn (financial backer for The Glittering Court), is recruiting this year (he has his reasons). Ada finally agrees and signs the contract. Then she regrets her decision. The Countess sees this as her opportunity to escape. She arranges for Ada to go away quietly and then takes her place (sneaks away from her family). The girls are taken to a house in the country where they will be trained for their new life (how to run a household, proper dress, etiquette, dance lessons, etc.). The Countess has now become Adelaide Bailey (she prefer it to Ada). Cedric recognizes her immediately, but he reluctantly agrees to keep her secret. Cedric has his own secrets (he needs to escape from Osfrid as well). Adelaide, along with her new roommates and friends, Tamsin and Mira are in for an adventure as they head off for new lives in Adoria. Will it be all they hoped? I love Richelle Mead’s previous novels and was eagerly anticipating The Glittering Court. Unfortunately, The Glittering Court is basically a romance novel (and not a good one) set in a different, old-fashioned world (with fancy clothes and carriages). I originally received a sneak peek, but then I read the whole book. It was alright, but I was not enthralled (not drawn in or engaged). I think Ms. Mead needs to go back to what she does well (paranormal novels). I give The Glittering Court 3 out of 5 stars. The book was just lacking. The idea that the Countess is running away to escape an arranged marriage, but she is going to a place where she will be sold to the highest bidder for marriage (unless she can pay back the money they spent on her training and clothing). The ending is expected. If I had read this book, I would have never picked up her other novels. If you are looking for a romance novel (and nothing else), then you will enjoy The Glittering Court. I probably would have loved this novel when I was a teenager (I read quite a few romance novels then). I received a complimentary copy of The Glittering Court from NetGalley in exchange for an honest evaluation of the novel.

Best in her collection. I'm nearly finished with this book and already dying for more. I've read several of her series and this is the most intriguing and most enjoyable. You won't regret it!! I cannot wait for more. One complaint I have is that sometimes she doesn't end series well. I'm still waiting for a satisfactory conclusion to age of x novel series and the iron throne series. Hopefully the same won't happen with the glittering court series.

Midnight jewel. Really enjoyed the storyline and the characters were well depicted can't wait for the next book in the series

Stupid book zero stars. If I could would give zero I know it's really cliche but stupid the whole book is just a really pathetic remake of Americas colonial era with the same sexist mindset she made up a whole weird religion so it's like a religious novel but it's not?? Total waste.

!!!. Cannot wait to read :)) seems like a great series even though it might be a little cheesy like The selection BUT I PROBS WILL STILL LOVE IT

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! BEAUTIFUL!. I LOVE this book! Richelle Mead did an amazing job (as always) and brought her amazing talent to the books! It's such an amazing story! I love it! I could not wait to read this book, and now that I have, I am fully SATISFIED! Thank you for writing such an amazing book! I MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this book to anybody and everybody! Enjoy! I'm off to read it again!

3.5 stars. So to start off with, this is the type of book that I'm not used to Richelle writing. I'm used to more fantasy elements, more action etc. That said, I'm merely stating my opinion. She can write all kinds of books and it's not going to appeal to all audiences. This was a nice read. I liked the characters, I liked the setting. Given their world, things still moved a bit slow for my taste. I would have loved for more elaboration on some of the other characters, Adelaide's friends. The "evil character" had an easy way out with conspiracy. (Not going to give spoilers.) It was enjoyable but not a must-read.

Refreshing!. I was honestly really surprised by the reviews. I picked up this book mainly because I love Richelle Mead & knew that she wouldn’t disappoint! & she didn’t. My thing is that I love when an author writes different types of books. It’s still the same in the romance area. But there’s no supernaturals and it’s a completely different world. This book was 10/10! Definitely a refreshing break from Vampires and Alchemists! ❤️
