Brilliant. The characters, the witty banter, the rivalry… I loved it so much.

Cute story. This book made me laugh out loud, and I thought it was a fun, easy read. However, the ending was very abrupt, and I was left a little confused. It seemed like the author was setting up for an epilogue or a final twist, but then got tired of writing.

Clear your schedule for the day!. So good I didn’t want it to end! Once I started I could not put it down.

Had me in suspense. Enjoyed reading this book. It kept me intrigued and talking crap lol. These characters were intense. A must read. Movie comes out soon.

AMAZINGGGG. I feel completely in love with the characters. There were some captivating plot twists about the characters. I couldn’t put the book down.

Poorly written. This book seemed more like a first draft, or that it skipped the editing process. Within the first few pages, there are major character contradictions that let you know the hating facade would never be realistic. Many conversations between the main characters do not flow well and the author will even tell you “he’s always ready with a quick reply” but in the scene you’re ready, he doesn’t even have a retort to the last said comment. Issues like that drove me nuts.

loved this. I honestly likes books more than movies but when it comes to this book I can’t help be love both of them equally . At first it was hard to get through the book but I am glad I stuck in here because It was amazing.

Great Enemies to Lovers. Oh this was really great. It had the dependability of a romance that yeah they’re gonna have a HEA but HOW are they gonna get there?! I think the romance cliches for genders were switched in this which I really loved! It’s not always the woman thats head over heels and chasing the guy the whole time or him that’s afraid of a relationship or love. Completely suggest this book for a laugh, some romance, enemies to lovers, only one bed, and all that good stuff.

Good beach read. Funny witty and great . Read it twice , the book is better than the movie. And no political agenda which is nice. Loved it.

Classic Trope Hits Home. For enemies to lovers office romance, this is a classic. While some dialogue is overused, it is still a classic heart-string pulling romance centered on a young couple. 3.5 stars.

Hilarious and Unexpected. I kept deciding if I needed to give this story one or five stars. And that’s mainly because you got the sense they were already in love at the start of the story. I mean it was 28 chapters and Im thinking to myself “Yas. My favorite trope. slow burn me to death!” But then it got hot and heavy in chapter 5!! Even though I found Lucy’s obliviousness to be a BIT unbelievable and I never got the sense of how big the publishing house was, and the sex scene was a little shorter, I found myself absolutely smitten with Josh and smiling like Lucy at the end. Great read.

Fun and Playful. Enemies to Lovers, except it’s not. It’s very well written and only a little spice. Makes you fall in love with the characters from the first page.

Loved it. Worth it! I want a sequel.

3.6 Stars. Was an absolutely great stating but there was no reason for this book to be this long. I am still obsessed and do not all regret reading it. It was a fun read, just wish it had been a bit quicker.

The Hating Game. Crossed this book on youtube as a audiobook and I am not much of a audiobook type of person. But this book completely changed that! This book is so good, if you are the type that likes funny, witty and romance THIS IS THE BOOK! I have been reading books since I was 13 both children, teens and adults. I can say that out of over 300 or so books this is my fave and i have reread and relistened to this book at least 5 times! PLUS THE MOVIE

Super cute!!!. I absolutely loved this book. It’s definitely worth a read!

It was an okay read. It was light hearted, and enjoyable to read. However the plot started to just kind of fall off in the end, but wasn’t too bad.

I read this book in 3 nights. Like how I titled this review, I could not put my iPad down for three consecutive nights. I fell asleep at 6 am every night/morning because this novel was amazing, and made my inner helplessly romantic self so overwhelmingly content. For three days, I would curl up in bed no later than 7, and stay up the whole night only to wake up at 8 to fulfill my off-duty college student daily tasks running on 5 cups of coffee. This is that once-in-a-blue-moon, special book that is so well-written, it is worth being sleep deprived for so long.

This is a hard pass…. Save your $$. The hype over this book is unjustified. The prose is extremely difficult to get through and the internal dialog is torturous. The story line is rife with misogyny and archaic stigmas. It feels as if this was written by an adolescent. The main characters are vapid, juvenile, with no emotional maturity whatsoever. Never are you given any valid reason these two people would love or hate the other. Josh has muscles and Lucy is small (we get it). The protagonist has to be the worst part of the entire book. Her character is extremely unlikeable. Lucy is shallow, petulant and manipulative. Her endless whining and drama made it impossible to finish the book. Save your money. There are better cheaper books out there.

Obsessed with this. This so the best romcom I have read in years. So funny and swoony, it is running through my head all the time now.

My new favorite read. This book was impossible to put down! I was up until four in the morning reading and couldn’t get enough. My heart is breaking that we won’t get a second book!

Love it. No drama, so fun to read. A real joy!

Amazing!. I loved everything about this book. The ending had an unexpected twist but I loved it. I wish there was a few more chapters to finish up the story line or jump a year or so into their new lives. Overall, it was a great read and I’d definitely read it again.

Love. I have read this book multiple times now, one of my absolute favorites!

Made me miss seeing cute romances in the workplace. Lucy and Joshua spend their whole lives with each other... at work. It makes the workplace seem romantic in a time when everyone’s stuck at home. The little games they played were one of a kind. So clever and cute.

In LOVE!. I feel like this is a modern day version of Pride and Prejudice! I loved the characters and I also loved the movie. I kind of hope there will be a second book. In any case, this is one of my favorite books now and will be reading it again and again!

I don’t give five stars often. When this book was all over social a while ago, I kind of ignored it. I’d been burned by bookstagram before and I wasn’t ready to believe this book was everything it was cracked up to be. Fast forward to earlier this year when I see the hating game on Hulu. I watched it and absolutely loved it. I loved Josh and Lucy and I wanted more of them. But reading the book when you know how it ends is hard so I put it off again. I know. You’d think I’d have learned my lesson by now. So a couple days ago I bought the ebook. I finished it in record time (would have been sooner if sleep and taking care of my family weren’t a thing) and it was so much better than I could have imagined. It’s longer more drawn out. The author knows how to build and build and BUILD sexual tension. My goodness. It was amazing. And it differs from the films enough that it kept me guessing. I saw someone write in a review skip the book and watch the movie. Gonna go out on a limb and say that’s because this book doesn’t follow the traditional beats of a romance. That’s one of the things I truly loved about it. The film did well but it falls into those predictable beats.

The Hating Game = ❤️. This book will have you laughing from the first page to the last. I finished it in 2 days. It starts off incredibly well and SO funny- and doesn’t let up. Such a cute love story. If you’re thinking about buying it stop and just do it.

The best. This is one of the best romance novels of all time. I was devastated when I watched the movie because it can’t begin to compare. Please read the book before watching the movie, don’t let it ruin it for you!!

Fantastic. I was a little reluctant to read this book but I’m so glad I did! It took a while for me to get into her writing style as it hops around a lot but by the 5th chapter I was hooked. I liked the flirty dynamic between Josh and Lucy and how they end up being an example of a healthy, real relationship. I liked that both Josh and Lucy become deep characters that truly understand and see each other. I also enjoyed the way Lucy’s mind worked. Overall it was endearing and heartening.

I’m obsessed!. This book floored me. I expected a predictable “hate to love” budding romance novel but this was so much more. The characters are so lovable and the writing it beautiful! I think this took me a whole two days to read; I couldn’t put it down! Can’t wait to see what else Sally Thorne releases!

The Hating Game. The beginning was great and very interesting but the story got lost and characters were forgotten about. I’m disappointed I wasted my time and money on this book.

Meh. This book was a giant tease and seemed way too far fetched. It was annoying at times how Josh just knew exactly what Lucy was thinking, right down to her computer password. I love a good romance novel but this was hardly believable, even for the most amorous. I found the ending was abrupt and didn’t tie up all story lines. If it was all meant to be implied at the end, then I don’t know why it was mentioned at all in the story line. The entire book was between two rivals fighting for a promotion and yet we don’t even know if Lucy got it. So strange.

Smouldering. A nice quick read but very enjoyable. Well written with comedic interludes. Perfect beach read.
