Any Means Necessary. I read into the book a very short way and was slapped in the face with the most filthy of filthy profane word. You writers need to realize that not everyone is profane and you are missing out on a very large percentage of the population = money because of it. I will not read this author again.

Action Packed and Fast Paced. Any Means Necessary by Jack Mars is the first book in the Luke Stone series. I read the series quite a few years ago and am rereading the series and realized I never left a review. The plot regarding the planned murder of the president and the overthrow of the government is chilling and frightening especially in light of the sitting president’ tactics after losing the 2020 elections. Luke Stone is a hero, a man who chooses his country’s needs and career over his family, but definitely is troubled.

Terrible follow up to The Forging of Luke Stone. After listening to this for 15 minutes, I am deleting the series because it made zero sense. They talked about how one of the main characters from the forging, a blue stone, which came before this series was being introduced to somebody that Luke stone had never seen. And it made no sense and has no place in the Luke Stone series.

Exciting fast pace. Very exciting and fast pace, but so unrealistic. Ending was very abrupt.

Reads like watching a movie!. Very well written and engaging the whole way through!

Excellent thriller could happen tomorrow. Jack Mars builds his thriller right out of what could be tomorrow’s headlines. Luke Stone is a believable terrific agent who you are glad is on your side.

Page turner. Even with the multiple typos and occasional poor grammar this was a great read. Jumping from the first two in the series “Forging Luke Stone”, to this one, took a chapter or two to realize I missed something by not finishing the first series. All in all it kept me reading to the end. I will return for the next book(s) after I read the forging series.

Interesting from the beginning. It felt like an Action movie. Very interesting plot Going to red the next one in line now !

Any Means Necessary. This was a very good book with lots of action. My one complaint with this book and any others like it is that I don't like an ending that is not complete. I don't like to feel that I am required to read the next book to find out what happens. I am sure the next book will have the same type of ending, and I may not care to read all the books in the series.

Familiar themes. The books starts out with the same Islamic terrorist threat to America but quickly diverts to domestic terrorism and a coup toppling the American government. Sound familiar? It is the same super hero, silent macho, secretive government agents, accountable to no one who save the day. These types of protagonists, who are found throughout many contemporary novels are getting a little threadbare and boring.

Any Means Necessary. Jack Mars has penned an action-packed political-plot page turner. Great character development and deviously clever story with twists and turns throughout. Hard to put down but when the end comes, you’ll be ready to dig into Luke Stone’s next oversize adventure. I am!!

Outstanding!. This is the last of Jack Mars’ series that I’m reading to get caught up on all of his writing. They’re all very good but this blows them all away! If someone doesn’t option this for a movie…they should because this has everything. Action, intelligent plot twists, intrigue, humor…did I mention action?! I cannot wait to finish this series!

Hooked to the end. I’ve always been a fan of military novels and got this ebook after putting off reading for almost a year. Great plot and sub-plots that draws the reader in and captivates till the last page. Only critique is that the bad guy is highlighted a little too early/obviously in the book. Inconsistent and predictable. It’s so unfortunate that the continuity of character interaction is so inconsistent between this and the ‘Forging Luke Stone’ series. It turned me off in the first chapter, and I couldn’t continue. It’s just lazy. Not recommended.

Any means necessary. Well I had already read and reviewed this book! But I was about to start #2 but decided that I would reread #1. This is straight action, excellent story-telling and grippingly intense. In the current political environment (2/19), seems like the general overthrow scenario could occur again

Disappointed. I really was hoping to have discovered a series, new to me, to be excited about. Instead, reading this book was a slog. The characters were flat, and while the premise sounded exciting, I was bored for most of the read.

Great book, love the Luke Stone series. The book keeps you drawn in and guessing, you won’t want to put it down. I’ve really enjoyed the Luke Stone series so far. The only downside is that I came across the prequel series first. The main character (Stone) apparently meets some of his supporting cast for the first time in this book (Ed, Swann & Trudy) but he’s already working closely with them in the prequel series. Would have enjoyed it more if the characters stories flowed a bit better.

While this is an entertaining read, the plot is something from the Cold War era. ************* SPOILER ALERT ******************* The story that nasty old capitalists want to seize power is one that I'd thought had been consigned to the great plot graveyard in the sky. But, obviously not. ******************SPOILER ALERT ******************* Although it, the plot that is, is cliched and hackneyed the story itself and how it unfolds makes this an entertaining read. The characters are fairly believable and, while the main characters don't wear their underpants outside their trousers on too many occasions, there is enough action and suspense to keep one engaged. Would I read the others in the series? At this point I'm not sure.

A must have. Couldn't get enough. The first book of the Luke Stone collection and is a must read!!!! You'll be crazy not to! WARNING! A must read during the day book and not a 'Read before you sleep' book or you'll be up all night reading this fantastic book!! I know, I learnt it the hard way, Guaranteed.

Couldn't put it down. First of Mars' books I have read. Couldn't put it down. Loved the characters and there were a couple of surprising plot twists. Thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Purchased the 2nd instalment straight away.
