Awesome. This couple who had to be roommates first were ignited in their “getting to know you” phase. I loved this story; both broken people who find peace and healing in each other.❤️

Awesomely awesome. Kristy is by far my favorite author and I will read anything she publishes. Reading her books feels akin to coming home after a long absence. She has a true talent to put the reader in the mind of the character and you can't help but fall in love! Kristy writes of heartache and healing, love and loss but true redemption comes in looking inside ourselves and healing from the inside out. Well done, Kristy! I race you!!!

Beautiful. I loved this story! ❤️

Best Yet. My favorite author has done it again! This story will hook you from the beginning. I couldn’t put it down.

Love the Characters. Nice development of characters. They were people you could like and respect. Not sure I’ll read more in the series because I enjoyed these characters so much.

I think I fell in love with Zander; but I hurt for baby Zee. I just finished Zee's book and I soo loved it. I do have a few questions, like why didn't call Ry and Colt mom and dad? He only referred them like that when he was talking about them or asking for them when he talked to Ace. There was times I wanted to beat the ever loving crap out of him for his attitude towards his parents. God Getty I just want to cry for her; poor girl no one should go through what she did.

Down Shift by K. Bromberg. I just finished reading Down Shift and all that immediately comes to mind is "WOW"!! Kristy has a way of pulling me in from the first few words and keeping me captivated until the very end, and then wanting more. Zander and Getty's amazing journey had me laughing, crying, tied up in knots and completely falling in love with them! I just don't have the proper words to describe how many feelings this book evoked in me. After I let all the feelings soak in I am going to do a re-read! It is just that good!! What an amazing ending to the Driven journey, Kristy!!

Another checkered flag win for K. Bromberg!. Zander, Zander, Zander.... became the man I hoped that little boy would grow up to be and more... Getty, such a brave and courageous woman, perfect in so many ways for Zander. What a story, filled with emotions, baggage and hope. Highly recommend reading this! Just Jump in and start reading!

Must Read. If you have not read a K Bromberg book yet, read this and then read all of her books. The touch you on a whole new level. They make you rush to the end and then scream MORE!!

@michellesbookstoread. Started a little slow... then it flew by and I was so sad when it was over! Absolutely loved Zander... his heart was literally cut open and poured onto the pages throughout this story... the writer has such an amazing gift in creating moments in which I found tears falling from my eyes and laughter from my lips at the same time.... love, life challenges, forgiving yourself, allowing yourself to love and trust again, “just jump,” don’t forget to laugh, grand gestures, live fiercely, apologize, right the wrongs... and don’t live in regret of allowing yourself to love ... #worththeread

Just ok. The story line was good and I did genuinely like the characters. But there was just too much internal monologue for me. It went on and on and on. I wanted more dialogue between Z and G. I found myself skipping a lot of it.

More please!!. My heart is a little broken that this is supposed to be a stand alone. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll see more of Zander one day! K. Bromberg is my absolute favorite. I thought the book got a slow start, but was it worth it! I don't know how this book could disappoint anyone!

"Just jump with me, Socks". From the moment I first read about Zander as a little boy in Driven, I knew that the day would come where I hoped and prayed that Kristy would write his story. If you've read all of the books in that series, you will know that I am not alone in the number of people who have begged over the years to get more of his story. What happens to him as he grows up, where does his life take him, does he ever find the happiness that he deserves so much after the horrific events that happened in his childhood. If you haven't read the Driven series and this book is your first, it is a complete standalone and Kristy does an amazing job of providing all the background of Zander's past and filling the reader in on what has happened to him in his life. How do I write this review without revealing what happens? It will be a struggle because all I want to do is gush about Zander!! As I said, Kristy lays a solid background of what Zander has been through in his life, and the same goes for Getty. We get an all too real look at what she has been through, what's she's experienced and her thoughts and feelings on her past, present, and what she wants for the future. Kristy takes us on a really emotional ride; as usual when reading her books I was sucked straight into the story and felt all the feels that these two souls are feeling. I smiled huge when Zander and Getty were teasing each other, and I wanted to hug them so hard when they were hurting. For followers of the series you will get to see Colton and Rylee again, which is always awesome. And if you haven't and you're just meeting those two characters for the first time, I would bet money that once you do meet them, you'll be running to your computer to one-click the hell out of the Driven series so that you can become intimately acquainted with these two very special people. There's so many elements to this story that I loved. There's some drama, angst, some characters that you'll want to throat punch, but also passion and heat and sexy and love and more sexy and soul searching and healing and redemption and more sexy.... I am so, so happy with Zander and Getty's story!! I had no idea how Kristy was going to pull off giving us readers a story that would take Zander from the scared little boy we met in Driven to the man he has become today. Definitely a story that I will read many, many times!! Thank you, Kristy!

Heart wrenching and fabulous!. What a story! I loved Zander when he was a broken little boy in the Driven series. And I love him even more as a broken man. He and Getty are perfectly written. Their banter, fighting, and support for one another left me speechless. I felt every emotion that Kristy wrote in this book. The story left me whirling. Another great spin-off book. Kristy, your writing is truly beautiful.

Loved it. I just finished and I love love loved it! 😍😍😍

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I'm so mad that I can't slowly savor K. Bromberg books! Lol I read it yesterday and got absolutely nothing else done. I never dreamed that any characters would rival Colton and Rylee!!! Zander and Getty are right there with them! Love love love this book! Thank you Kristi. Keep em coming!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Perfection!!!. I love Zander and Getty's story!! This book hit the feels! Just like all the other Driven series that I've read this past week, this one is by far my favorite. K. Bromberg did a great job with this book. Loved it!

Strangers to friends to lovers in a standalone story.. Down Shift was about Zander and Getty facing their past. Rylee and Colton adopted Zander giving him a life filled with possibilities. Zander escaped a traumatic past and entered into a rewarding future with the Donovan's becoming Indy's Golden Boy. Zander and Getty became instant roommates, sharing a cottage, on an island during a misunderstanding. Both were looking for an escape and clarity from their past. Forced to coexist. A friendship blossomed even within the push and pull of their relationship. Together they unexpectedly healed each other when all they thought they needed was time alone. Getty was a character I could connect with. Her turmoil over her emotions, feelings, and insecurities were easy to identify with. Getty was brave and strong to walk away from her past. The story made me laugh with Zander's sarcastic humor. The story had elements of desire and a build up of angst. Kristy blows my mind with her sex scenes. Let's just say they definitely put you in the mood. Kristy's use of descriptive words filled my head with images of compassion, Sincerity, and intimacy. I got to say my favorite scenes in the story were the sex scenes. I loved the connection Zander created to build confidence into Getty. I'm getting butterflies along with Getty with the anticipation for intimacy. Zander's character offered comfort in the form of reassurance, laughter, and confidence. Great qualities to fall in love with. The vulnerability of each character was magnificent. The way Kristy depicted the strength and fear lending hope for a better future was magical. Reading Colton as a father figure to Zander and giving him advice was prideful. Zander reminded me of Colton. Colton taught Zander how to be a good hearted man who was worthy and deserving of love. Zander gained new perspective on what family meant through the scars and pain of Getty. Getty showed Zander a different side of her family dynamics illustrating not all families measure up. Strangers to friends to lovers to more...Creating a sweet slow connection. The intensity that Colton brought to the series was only found through his firm hand at parenting Zander. While Zander was a sweet and genuine character he certainly does not hold a candle to the appeal that Colton brought.

Wonderful, emotional story with such great, developed characters.. Wow! When I read this book I didn't expect for it to be so emotional but it really was. Zander Donavan is the adopted son of Rylee and Colton Donavan and now he's all grown up! Zander is a race car driver just like his dad and is currently at the top of the standings. Too bad the life Zander is leading is getting in the way along with the guilt he has been carrying around for years. After a confrontation with Colton, which leads to being fired, Zander decides he needs to be on his own to sort some things out and takes off without telling anyone where he is going. Zander heads to Smitty's beach house to spend some time alone to deal with all his stuff. Imagine his surprise when a cute female comes walking in on him as he is just getting out of the shower. She is also buck naked! This scene was priceless! Anytime I see a mini-blind wand from now on I'll be laughing! Zander calls Smitty and realized that Smitty and his wife, Darcy both told different people they could stay there. Darcy won't be home for a few days so Zander will just have to deal with the situation. Enter Getty Caster. Getty has been staying at this house for the past 3 months after running from an abusive marriage. Getty came from a wealthy family but was tired of being told what she was allowed and not allowed to do. Zander and Getty both have things from their past that they are hiding from each other. I loved how these two decided to live in the same place and how they slowly broke down the other's walls. As Zander and Getty go through their journey to get over their pasts, they develop quite a friendship, which eventually leads to more. Both of these characters are so strong, yet so flawed because of their pasts but together they manage to move forward. I just adored the happy ending...it was perfect. Overall, this was a wonderful, emotional story with such great, developed characters. If you are an easy crier, keep the tissues close!
