Murder in the Abbey Book Summary

Murder in the Abbey is a leap across the English Channel into the path of the most ruthless adversary Maggie has faced yet. Situated in the rolling hills of England’s Cotswolds, The Abbey is a country resort that allows its guests to taste the pleasures of rank and prestige from a bygone era—until murder slams face first onto its welcome mat. When the victim turns out to be someone close to both Maggie and Laurent, they leave their vineyard in France to find answers. Once in England, they discover that the tranquil countryside of Shelley and Wadsworth can be every bit as treacherous as the most sinister backstreet of Marseilles.  What Maggie also discovers is that if she ever hopes to live with her own guilt over the death she’ll need to find the killer--and preferably before she ends up face down in one of the Abbey’s picturesque fishing ponds.

Murder in the Abbey - Susan Kiernan-Lewis Book Reviews

  • Maggie Newberry Mysteries (House Husband's Working Wife)

Maggie and her husband, Laurent, are two of my favorite characters!
  • Murder in the Abbey by: Susan Kiernan-Lewis (Proctorasshole)

Absolutely loved the mixed expat/European intriguing dialogue of the two cultural societies which expressed the differing views regarding each other's attitudes. Women can be so bitchy to each other. The cat & dog claws are real even when life is good. My hot popcorn was delicious with my wine as I read the series. KSW
  • Always a delight (Thereplicant009)

The feisty Maggie provides another afternoon of delight with her penchant for solving the crime. Love the red herrings and intricate relationships of every character. The village life makes me want to live there. Love this series
  • Murder in the abbey (mangosur)

The type set for this book is off. I find the beginning letters of some chapters are missing and superimposed over letters on the next page. There is a lot of spacing between words and the use of french phrases are disconcerting to the point that I stopped reading it.
