Best seller?. I’m not sure if this was a best selling author or book - and questioned it throughout. The story was somewhat plausible, but not overly believable. It was redundant. As someone who lived through decades of DV from someone with a diagnosed pd- it just seemed made up and drawn out, whereas his death is quick, short and cut off- clever, but predictable. An easy, not overly interesting read.

love this book. i read this and really enjoyed it.

Couldn’t put it down!. Loved this read, the further you get into the book, the more I’m drawn in, till the last page. Worth the read!

Pretty Good. This was a great book; a real page turner. My only criticism might be that they were questions presented in my mind that were never fully answered. For example, what exactly is it that Jack does in Thailand? What did Esther know and when and how did she’s know? Why is Jack more interested in Millie than Grace?

Powerful and electric. Hard to put down. Once you start this book won’t put it down until you find out what happens with Grace and her sister.

DV trigger warning.. I only got about 150 pages in and honestly couldn’t do it. Well written but So much abuse and overall just so crazy. I did look up a summary though because I wanted some karma it didn’t disappoint I’ll give It that

I’m not gonna lie, I was very hesitant on purchasing this book because I’m very picky when it comes to things I like to read but THIS BOOK … This book had me on my tippy toes wondering what is she gonna do next .. and then the ending ? AMAZING ! I literally read the last page at least 10 times and each time it gave me chills ! This book is really 10/10 and I would definitely read it again 👏🏼

Thrilling!. This book is captivating, and keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering what’s going to happen next. There are so many twists and turns. It’s usually hard to keep me engaged but this book did everything to keep me hooked. Definitely my favorite mystery I’ve read...ever!

Personal review. I highly recommend you reading the trigger warnings on this book before you read it. Absolutely horrible content but the thriller that kept you wanting to know more was there. But Jack and the way he treats Grace is sickening.

Horrible writing. I don’t get the raving reviews for this book. Terrible dialogue, no character building. I can’t tell you how many times I rolled my eyes trying to get through this. This should be in the young adult section. DNF

Slow. I had a hard time getting into this one. It was very slow but I did appreciate the twist at the end, though it was a bit predictable.

What a read!. This book was most definitely unputdownable, I am so in awe by the read, the plot and the end. Obviously expecting for Grace to prevail, I most definitely did not anticipate the way she did. Additionally, I enjoyed the play on Esther’s character, her suspicions, gaze and attention to detail. A fantastic job by Paris, the ability to inflict torture without violence, and play on what extent some would go to save who they love. Lastly, the normalization of DS, impeccable.

Amazing. Okay I never read books for fun and I never leave reviews for anything… but this book was so addicting I read it in less than two days. Definitely recommend!

Extremely Disturbing. This book should come with a warning. I wanted to read a classic thriller, and instead I’ve read a sadistic and extremely disturbing novel. Also, so many questions were left unanswered in the end. After all the author put us through the least she could do would be to tie up some loose ends and give us a glimmer of hope for this awful story.

The ending gave me cholls. It’s a bit harder to follow between past and present and I feel like time gets blurred at points but holy heck this book was good. Very suspenseful and the ending gave me chills. It made me wish there was a sequel because I was so curious as to how it played out.

Like some forgettable Lifetime movie. I tried to get into this and got halfway through but the situation is so outrageous and unbelievable that I couldn’t keep going, with characters acting in ways people never would in real life. The story feels like a made-for-TV Lifetime movie with a frustratingly outdated male-female dynamic.

I wish I could give it 10 stars. I'm a sucker for a good thriller, but I literally could not put this book down. It was an emotional roller coaster and the character development was phenomenal. The ending really got me though, it was so good!! A definite must-read if you love psychological thrillers.
