Great read!. At first I was unsure about this book only one chapter in, but not to many pages later the characters grabbed me. The writing was so descriptive it really pulls you into this fictional world.

So much fun!. What a fantastically fun read this was! I especially loved Stephanie Garber’s playfulness with words. She used color and setting with such great creativity, and, as I read Caraval, my imagination was dripping with joy. This is the perfect summer read!

Beautiful story. This is a cool story and beautifully written. Scarlett is a less obvious heroine, but she is likeable, and her concerns and motives are understandable. The writer spins an imaginative world you can see as you read it. Highly recommend, if you enjoy fantasy romance.

Beautiful Book and Original Masterpiece!. I came across this book on a website and I was intrigued to know what it was about so I looked it up and read the sample. Shortly after, I went to Barnes and Noble to buy a physical copy and I can just say that I have no regrets. I bought this book yesterday and I am now finished with it. It is a beautiful book that is very original and definitely gave me a glimpse of a new world and genre that I have yet to dive into. This book differs from other works that I have read and it's not a bad thing! This is very original and I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire book! I can't believe I finished it in a day, haha! The book is set up beautifully, the characters are very interesting, and everything about this universe is just amazing! Although the ending was not how I had pictured it, it was still a lovely book and I am DYING for a second book! I am definitely going to keep an eye out for Stephanie Garber because I am definitely going to read any other works from her! She has a unique writing style and definitely goes into depth when describing things. I definitely recommend anyone to read this book because it is very entertaining! It gave me a very vivid picture of what I was supposed to be seeing when I read each sentence. This story is unique and fresh unlike other stories that all revolve around the same baseless plot. I got Alice and In Wonderland vibes throughout the whole story and it is definitely not a bad thing! Overall, this was an amazingly written book and I am dying for me. If you are reading this and have not read the book, then go to your nearest bookstore(or on here) and purchase the book! You will definitely love it.

My New Favorite Book. This a story of magic and deception, sisterly love and romantic love, and finding the freedom and boldness to live the way you’ve always wanted to. As a high school girl who reads up to three books a week, I think it’s pretty impressive that it’s my new favorite book series. I can’t wait for Finale to come out and I know it will be even better!

To die for. Stephanie Knows how to keep you on your toes. Wow.

A Stunning Piece. I cannot believe that this is Stephanie's first book. It was so beautifully written, and I could not stop reading it. I finished it in a heartbeat. The mystery and the romance tie in so well together, and I recommend this book for everyone!

Magical. I have not read a book this good in sometime. The book was literal magic that had me questioning myself as a reader with every plot twist. If you haven’t read this book yet and are debating reading it - DO IT.

Wow. This is a very good read, Scarlett and Stella remind me of my relationship with my own sister. And the magic of Caraval is intricate and it is as much a mystery as it is a fantasy and treasure hunt. Scarlett and Julian are adorable and had me smiling constantly and the characters emotions are described well. This is a very good book and I think the world needs more books like this. Scarlett goes from slightly immature to a mature, powerful leader. It’s fun to see her journey through Caraval, legendary, and Finale. Tella’s journey is just as interesting and slightly more complicated with the mystery of Legend and trying to find her mother. Both girls come a long way from where they are in the first book and it’s done in a very magical way. Thank you Stephanie Garber.

AMAZING! <3. this book was so amazing and had such good imagery i could barely put it down. literally i usually HATE reading but this book was so amazing i read it in like 1 week (which is rly quick for me lol). all in all, the characters, plot (and plot twists), and all the descriptive language in general, had me submerged into the world of caraval and was just such a great book! 🤍🤍

Scary but amazing. I had read once upon a broken heart and had no desire to read this trilogy. However the books were all on a great sale and I decided to purchase all 3. There were many times where caraval seemed too scary even for me, the reader! But I think it teaches good lessons and it intrigued me. However I wonder what else could happen in the next 2 books!

it was okay. i enjoyed it. i feel like a lot of it was world building and therefore i didn’t enjoy it as much. honestly, the only reason i read it was because this is in the same universe/world as once upon a broken heart, which is my favorite book of all time. i liked caraval, but i just felt like it didn’t really have the magic of stephanie garber’s other series. however, i will be continuing this series. i’m currently reading legendary, which is book two in the caraval series. i really want to finish this series before a curse for true love (once upon a broken heart book three) comes out. anyways, i would recommend this. just wasn’t my fave. 💗

Beautiful!. I really loved this book! The descriptions really made me feel like everything was an illusion( a good thing for this novel). An interesting idea for the setting sets this book apart from others. I would definitely recommend reading this!

Ehh. It was really good when I first started it but once the game began Scarlett started giving me a migraine, she was absolutely useless and made the dumbest choices. I don’t know what to tell you, it had amazing potential from the begin but it sort of lost my interest as it went on.

THIS BOOK. I have absolutely no words, this book is beautiful and tricky. It leaves you thinking that nothing is real, because it’s all just a game. It has magic, romance, and poetic writing, leaving you constantly on the edge of your seat

Waste of time. The plot would have been good, but the characters were so immature. The main character Scarlett was so clueless it became a strain to continue reading. I will not read the rest of the series.

Best Book Ever !!. This book has the best escapism ever. Honestly Felt as I was in the game. The feeling of Hunger Games meets Harry Potter. I Honestly spent my last $10 to buy book 2 because it was THAT good!!

The Magic of Caraval. Not what I was expecting. What a thrilling read, and it had me begging for more. I read it in a day (if that's any indication) and I'm already struggling from impatience in anticipation for a second book... the struggle is real! An elaborate mix of fantasy and self discovery, and full of surprises and plot twists! What an authentic, refreshing, and unique story- loved it!

Captivating, Mystical fairy tale. Disclaimer: if I had known this was a fairy tale, I would not have bought and read the book. That is generally not my genre. A friend endorsed it so, without know anything about the book, I purchased and read it. I must admit that it was an entertaining, captivating read that held my attention to the very last page. The author is gifted in her ability to create word images that draw you into the various scenes and characters. It proved to be a story that is romantic while capturing the nature of agape love among family and friends in a unique and entertaining manner. I enjoyed the book and recommend it to others.

Decent Debut. Caraval is a pretty good debut fantasy novel. The set-up is good in that you are told from the beginning nothing is real, it's only a game, so you question yourself as a reader as the story progresses. It reminded me of an Agatha Christie mystery in a way. Does it deserve a place in the pantheons of fantasy, no. Is it entertaining, yes. It's a good popcorn movie. The twists were good, but nothing terribly surprising or breathtaking. The overwrought questioning heroine has been done to death at this point. But I give kudos to Ms. Garber for a truly original story and setting. I wish it was written with a little more depth and not along the lines of a YA novel, as I think it would have been a greater novel, but bravo to her for a fun, fresh story. I enjoyed reading this book.

Caravan. Actually, this book is above average for a fantasy genre book, mainly because the story line is so original. It was enjoyable until the ending, which made the story feel incomplete, at least for me. Probably it was purposefully done to lead to a sequel, which I will not read. I have read a goodly number of serial novels but prefer that each book be able to stand on its own, rather than leaving the reader dangling with an unanswerable question at the conclusion which is, hopefully, answered in the sequel.

magical in a refreshing way. this book took the concept of magic in a direction i, as an avid fantasy reader, have never read before. a great story w twists and turns that keep you roped in. it’s also a quick read so there’s that as well. the reason i gave it 4 stars is because i thought scarlett was a little annoying sometimes, but overall i liked the book.

Page-Turner!. I finished this book in a day. Ever page had me curious and questioning on what was happening. The plot twists had me shocked and I was constantly on edge trying to figure things out. I liked how it played out and cannot wait for the second book!

Brilliant. I read this in a day. The artistic elements of the book itself were stunning, this is one novel I highly recommend getting in hardcover. The writing style eloquent, the characters well developed, the plot enriching, and the setting truly elaborate. I could go on and on, a truly phenomenal read and an impressive debut. Can't wait for the sequel and the movie.

Other worldly. This story reminded me of Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast with a delicious twist. The setting is amazingly detailed with rich color, stunning texture and interesting sounds. The plot had many twists and turns keeping me guessing, so it was impossible to put down. I finished it in less than 48 hours. I loved the complex characters too! I look forward to more of Stephanie's work. Thank you for such a delightful treat!

Absolutely loved it. This is one of the first books to grab my attention and never let go-even after the last page. I found myself so caught up in this beautifully intense and intriguing magically scary journey. There were a lot of moments where I was so wrapped up in the story I had to keep reminding myself to breathe. I was sad when it was over. A must read or all who like fantasy, romance, mystery, and even thrillers! Can’t wait to read the rest of the series then on to the spin off series ❤️💜

Hated it :(. No substance to characters, too much manipulation and emotional abuse, and too little information about magic in the world. Literally no character development as Scarlett was shallow, whiny, and annoying from the first page to the last. That goes for all the other characters as well. I was left feeling frustrated and like my time had been monumentally waisted. Not a good read.

Absolutely Loved This Book!!. This book had me hooked and was so interesting! At times, I did feel like we were losing sight of finding her sister and that that side of the story wasn’t as well developed (but only in the beginning), I was also a bit jarred when it came to the plot twist. I felt like the whole “falling in love” part was a bit rushed, but I’m a sucker for romance, so I can’t complain too much. I wish we could have seen a little more of Scarlett & Julian after the fact, but it's not a huge upsetting factor and I’m sure we might see more in other books. I’d give it four stars, but there’s just something about this book! I can’t want to read the next book, even though I’m a little reluctant to let go of this book and it’s main characters. Would totally recommend though. Also wish I had bought this book from the bookstore since the cover is stunning!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I have this copy in print and it is absolutely AMAZING, if you like fantasy and romance and rollercoaster rides of emotion I really recommend getting this. You will not regret it!!

Incredible Series. I just finished all three books and just WOW! What an adventure. Ms. Garber takes you on one wild ride. Character development and world building are on point. The twists keep you on your toes throughout the whole series. I couldn’t get enough. These books are pure magic!

Thrilling and Captivating. 4.5/5 No Spoilers This book was a great read. I finished it so quick I didn’t even know what to do after. It was thrilling turn after turn. What I liked the most was the romance story that they threw into it. I never would’ve guessed that’s who she’d end up with but it was so sweet. It was just a really well thought out book with great imagery. The characters were written so well that I could picture all of them in my head with ease. The scenes were written just as well and just as vivid as the characters. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Pulled an all nighter to read this in one sitting. I absolutely loved this book. The feelings, confusion, imagery and everything else that comes along with it are just incredible. I loved how just when I thought I was sure of something or who someone was, a new twist came. Very easy read, impossible to put down.
