Fairy-Struck by Amy Sumida Book Summary

I met him at the end of my sword.
Not the most romantic of introductions but it suited us. We're both warriors; he's a lord of the Wild Hunt of Fairy, and I'm an extinguisher—a psychic soldier trained from birth to protect our world from his kind. Attraction arced between us like lightning. I saw it in his eyes; watched them shift from frigid silver to molten metal. Despite all of that, I knew it could go nowhere. Fairies killed my mother and her death nearly destroyed my father. Then there's the fact that extinguishers don't date outside our society. A human would be bad enough, but a fairy? That's not just frowned upon, it's forbidden. We cannot be together. It's impossible. And that's fine. I've got bigger things to worry about. Like my new charge; a dryad who just informed us of a fairy plot to exterminate the human race. I'll focus on her and ignore the wild thrumming of my blood every time I look at him. I'm a professional; I can handle one arrogant, annoying, stubborn, dangerously sexy fairy hunter who won't stop staring at me as if I'm already his. I'm not one of his delicate, Fey ladies, longing to swoon into his arms. I carry an iron sword and iron is poison to Fairies. If he gets too close, he'll be the one swooning.

Fairy struck. I loved this book. It had a lot of twist and turns that just kept me interested and wanting more.

Fairy struck. Absolutely fantastic.

Awestruck. Engaging fantasy drama

An unexpected Gem. Wonderful story, beautifully written with witty jokes and dialogue! Thoroughly enjoyed! An unexpected Gem!!

Decent. Started out really good but after a while the descriptions got exhausting (some unnecessary details) to read and the characters became bland. Stopped reading halfway through and that was enough for me.

Great series. I have read the entire series and can say that I enjoyed it. It is full of romance, adventure, happiness and heartbreak. If you don’t want any spoilers, stop reading here. Reader beware, this does turn into a reverse harem read as you get farther into the series. It isn’t obvious in book 1, so try not to get hooked if this isn’t your thing.

Amazing. Such a good story i loved it

Excellent read!. I have never taken the time to comment on a book, however, I had to with this one. I loved the main characters and the story line. The explanation of the different fairy courts and their numerous fey was like a lesson straight from Fairy (land!) I could not put this book down! Would highly recommend this book!

Perfect. I read all the comments before I read and I was very surprised why everybody was positive about it so I thought why not give it a try. I was absolutely blown away by plot twist and things that I could never see coming. She had the perfect attitude sassy but not too sassy. I read the last 5 pages before the epilogue a bunch of times because I could not get enough of that scene perfectly written for my taste and can’t wait to read the next

It was okay. I wasn’t able to finish this book. The main character was good in the beginning but the way she just accepts things without getting at least a little emotional was unrealistic to me. Everyone loved her immediately and her “snarky” attitude wasn’t very snarky to me. The instant romance was not my cup of tea. The book could’ve been a lot shorter if the author got rid of the unnecessary descriptions of buildings and what not. The romance actually had the least descriptions out of the entire book. The style of writing seemed rushed and I didn’t like it. I skipped many pages. I gave it two stars because it had potential but was poorly executed.

Fairy struck. An unexpected treat. Can’t wait for book 2 but could be read as a stand alone.

Good but…. Great writing. Except the author has the rest of the series on Amazon under KU. There’s been a spate of authors doing this, putting the free book up on iBooks them expecting readers to go to Amazon to read the rest. No thanks.

Great Read. Enjoyed the characters and the storyline.

Really good. I loved the love story

Uneducated culturally. This book is well written but the author is definitely not educated properly in culture. Christ and Allah are two very different beings. Christ is Jesus Christ. Allah is the name of god for Muslims. If you’re putting cultural details in a book please do some research as to not insult different backgrounds.
