The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan Book Summary

The last time I saw my best friend’s younger brother, he was a geek wearing braces. But when Cannon shows up to crash in my spare room, I get a swift reality check.

Now twenty-four, he’s broad shouldered and masculine, and so sinfully sexy, I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy. At six-foot-something with lean muscles hiding under his T-shirt, a deep sexy voice, and full lips that pull into a smirk when he studies me, he’s pure temptation.

Fresh out of a messy breakup, he doesn’t want any entanglements. But I can resist, right?

I’m holding strong until the third night of our new arrangement when we get drunk and he confesses his biggest secret of all: he’s cursed when it comes to sex. Apparently he’s a god in bed, and women instantly fall in love with him.

I’m calling b******t. In fact, I’m going to prove him wrong, and if I rack up a few much-needed orgasms in the process, all the better.

There’s no way I’m going to fall in love with Cannon. But once we start…I realize betting against him may have been the biggest mistake of my life.

5 LEMONADE STARS. Completely sexy. Incredibly fun. Purely entertaining. Kendall Ryan's The Room Mate is sure to please! Like Cannon says, you will fall in love after one taste.

Review: Roommates 1: The Room Mate. The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan is the first book in her brand new Roommates series. Told in dual POV this book starts out as normal as any other - we learn about Cannon and his unlucky history with women and their psychotic tendencies. He is sudden need of a place to stay and his sister hooks him up and convinces her best friend (since childhood) to let him stay at her place for the next two months until his residency begins. We also learn about Paige, how she likes her space but is quickly becoming A-OK with sharing it with Cannon despite how bad this could go for her friendship with Allie. So the lust and attraction builds between these two and they have a couple of racy run-ins in the apartment and it's hot and tension building... And then the story just explodes into another level of awesomeness you don't see coming. Twists and turns and some major dilemmas are now part of the deal and you just won't be able to put this book down until the very LAST page is read. Loved it and I cannot wait to see what is next for us in The Play Mate, The House Mate, and The Soul Mate - the next books in the series. Enjoy!

This book was just ok for me. Don't get wrong it was good, but it lacked something. It was hot, but I didn't feel the romance between them. They were supposed to be having sex with no feelings (nothing new) and I think I was supposed to feel like they were falling in.love while this was happening but I didn't. Not at all. There was no relationship between them besides sex. She hadn't seen him in years and then they fall in love but there were no big moments to me that signaled "aww that's sweet" or "he/she loves her". So yeah that was my issue.

Not as good as I had hoped. I really wanted to like this book but the male character was not well written.

DNF. Did not finish, and I feel like I wasted money. Very juvenile and too many trite, overused plot lines.

The Roommate...5 Star Hit. This book was my first Kendall Ryan book but it will not be my last. I loved everything about this book. I was hooked from the first page and didn't want to put it down nor did I want it to end. Loved the fact that Cannon was a few years younger than Paige. I also loved that he had a crush on her growing up but she never knew. But when he needs a place to stay, his sister (her BFF) suggests Cannon stay with Paige. Their physical attraction is instant but they begin to get to know the grown up versions of each other and things develop into more. Obviously neither one of them let the other one know that they feel more because it wasn't suppose to be anything serious. Will these two be able to speak up and let the other one know before Cannon moves on with his doctor residency, possibly out of state. One click this book now and you will not be disappointed.

I want my money back. This was a horrible book. The writing was pretty bad.....I feel like a child wrote it. It could have been good if more effort was put into it. Don't waste your money or brain cells reading this junk.

A great read. A great story line with exciting characters and the author pays attention to detail .

Loved this!. 4.5 Stars! Spoiler Free review! Kendall Ryan brings us another great romance, this time about two reluctant roommates with a bit of a past. A sexy, dirty-talking hero, Cannon will make you swoon! He is a little bit pushy and a whole lot in denial. An awesome tale of roommates who fall for each other! This is one you don't want to miss.

5 Making Lemonade Stars. I love reading Kendall Ryan books. Her stories just sweep me away and I can’t put them down. The Room Mate was NO different. This was a fun and entertaining story that will also melt your kindle ;) This is a Standalone novel that is a friends to lovers type story, with a hint of the forbidden love story. If you are a fan of Kendall Ryan’s, than you don’t want to miss this latest gem of hers. READ THIS BOOK!!!!

Loved it. 4.5 Stars~ Making its way as one of my favorite books by Kendall is The Room Mate with its smoking hot chemistry and plenty of swoon to make anyone's heart flutter. Cannon is a med student and in need of a place to crash. Paige is his sister's best friend who happens to have an extra room for him to crash in. Cue the set up and the friends to lovers aspect that so many love. The humor in this book was a nice surprise and I think a great touch. Kendall has another hit series on her hands here if this book is any indication. This one can be a stand alone and from what I can tell they all will be able to be read that way. The cover is fantastic, the story is great and I couldn't recommend this anymore if I tried. Grab it and enjoy!

Cannon & Paige. I wasn't sure what I was getting into starting this book. Prologue was a VERY interesting beginning to say the least. Cannon hasn't had very good luck with the opposite sex. And when he's evicted because of his recent ex, he has the opportunity to live with Paige for a couple months. I loved these two together. The spark and connection Cannon and Paige have is wonderful. Allie, Cannon's older sister and Paige's supposed best friend, is not my favorite person. Her selfish attitude really got on my nerves, but done in a way I was rooting even more for Cannon and Paige. The book is 5 stars from beginning to end. I was laughing, cussing, gasping, and wishing Cannon was for real.

The Room Mate. Really good book I loved it and wouldn’t mind reading it Again

The Room Mate. A fun, flirty, and sexy read! You don't want to miss out on reading about the younger brother falling for his sister's best friend. Talk about a turn of events. I'm so used to reading books of the friend falling in love with the best friend's younger sister. But Cannon is sexy and a huge flirt who has a dirty and yummy mouth on him. He sure can make your panties wet by reading his dialogue throughout the book! Totally 5 swooning stars!!

Can Cannon Roth Make a House Call?. The heart is a complex organ, and in relationships, it seems to rule, forcing people to become unstable and reckless when it comes to matters of the heart, and when those feelings aren’t reciprocated, even when the lines have clearly been drawn, things can escalate from bad to worse quickly, making it impossible to remain clearheaded and vowing to do things differently for the sake of everyone. Cannon Roth knows a thing or two about how the heart works, both in terms of relationships as well as functionality. He’d be the first to admit that the heart is a dangerous part of the human body because it forces people to feel and act in ways that their logical brains wouldn’t allow them to if they only thought things through without reacting. As a doctor, Cannon understands how fragile the heart is, and as a single male, he’s been burned a time or two by women who feel with their whole hearts and end up turning his life upside down because of those feelings and the chaos it makes them reign down on him. Cannon would be the first to tell you that lusting after his sister’s best friend and acting on what his heart and his body want him to is the last thing he should do, but when he becomes Paige’s roommate and sees the kind of woman she has turned into, his attraction and his need to have her forces him to throw away his rules, go behind his sister’s back, and consume himself with a woman who distracts him in a multitude of ways, making his path to success a little rocky and a whole lot more complicated. Paige has always been the responsible one - the one who works hard and has no time for play because of it, and while Cannon has the same mentality about hard work, he also knows how to have fun and release the stresses of the day, which is exactly his prescription for Paige and the sexual tension that resonates between them. There’s a lot on the line when Cannon becomes Paige’s roommate and they decide to test his theory about women’s unhealthy and instant infatuation with him because if things go wrong and get messy in a way that they’re unable to fix, it might destroy friendships, sibling bonds, and perhaps even wreak havoc on the most necessary organ in the human body, but it also just might be what both Cannon and Paige need to keep making lemonade. I love friends to lovers’ stories, and Kendall Ryan’s newest release creates one with a twist that I haven’t found in many other texts. The fact that Paige is older than Cannon and she’s his sister’s best friend is an unusual plot line for me as a reader and that uniqueness really made for an enjoyable read. Cannon Roth is one HAWT doctor and I would love for him to make a house call, so I can witness his impeccable bedside manner along with his filthy mouth, impressive stamina, and sexified physique;) 4 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

Awesome read. This book was amazing. A page turner that I couldn't put down. The ending was pretty predictable but it was still great.

Sexy Story. Loved this book! Great new series from Kendall Ryan. This book has a good amount of sexy and full of twists that will keep you entertained. I enjoyed this romance of falling for your brothers best bud. Nice change of the leading lady being older than the leading man. Age is nothing but a number and falling in love is all the matters.

“The Room Mate” by Kendall Ryan. Shocking!! That was my first reaction to this contemporary novel. However, by the end of the first chapter, I was so engaged with the characters that I couldn’t put the book down. These characters are so well developed that you’ll find yourself rooting for them-all the way from Michigan to Denver. And true love does conquer all! -Jan Farrell Repath

A Room Mate to Wish For. Since I read "The House Mate" first, which is the third book in the series, that's the yardstick I feel comfortable using to rate this one, "The Room Mate," the first in the series. Confused yet? "The Room Mate" doesn't pack the same punch as #3. It's still a cute romance, just not as complex or as compelling a read as the later book. Cannon is an engaging character but I didn't feel as strong a connection with Paige. Maybe because the author doesn't give us the same level of insight into her character as with Cannon, so we don't feel as deep an affinity with her. Or perhaps, her Paige's reluctance to put her heart on the line affects the reader negatively so we don't empathize with her. I had a hard time getting into this story - I was more than halfway through the book before I felt fully engaged. But once there, it held my attention fully. Not sure how I managed the sequence mixup but guess I'll have to download #2 so I don't feel like I missed out.

Loved Cannon. ❤️. Loved Cannon. ❤️

Love her books!. Love this one!

Loved it!!. It's no secret that I am a huge Kendall Ryan fan. But her latest release has clawed its way to the top of my favorites! Oh, Cannon Roth, you sexy devil. It was hard enough to hold back the swoon when you showed up with your tall, sexy body and hypnotizing green eyes. But when you busted out the dirty talk I was a complete goner. I loved this book. Kendall has a way of writing characters that you feel like you've known you're entire life. Ones that you can imagine going out to dinner with or just sitting around laughing with. Cannon and Paige are no different. I felt connected to these two and found myself rooting for them from the first chapter. Cannon and Paige grew up together but they were never more than friends. That doesn't mean that Paige didn't star in some of Cannon's teenage fantasies but she doesn't need to know that! All grown up (and I mean ALL grown up), Cannon and Paige are both successful in life but not so much in love. When circumstances throw them together again for the first time in years, sparks fly. This story was easy to fall in love with. I fell hard and fast for Cannon and his dirty mouth! He's all the things you want in a book boyfriend and his determination made him irresistible. The Room Mate is sexy and sweet with side characters you will love and banter that was spot on. I laughed a lot and swooned even more. It's deliciously dirty and the perfect start to a new series! ~ Kimberly Anne

Too slow.... This book just took too long to heat up. Just didn’t have it in me to even try and finish it.

A Funny Read. I enjoyed reading The Room Mate. I liked the storyline and thought it was funny as well. Cannon's a good guy who always tries to make the best out of a bad situation. Paige is best friend's with Cannon's sister Allie which causes a few bumps in the road. I liked them as a couple, they're cute together. However I feel like I should know more about them as individuals; I feel like I don't know a whole lot about them, especially Paige. I still enjoyed it and thought it was a good book, I just think there could have been a bigger connection made. I still rooted for them, but I felt like something was missing.

Not bad. I didn’t think it was completely bad!

Fun, enjoyable read. Let me start by saying that I am a HUGE Kendall Ryan fan and everything she writes. This book, however, was lacking something for me. I’m not even sure what it was to be honest. Even though I hate these words in book world, I’m going to use them --- predictable, safe... I did enjoy the fact that the heroine was the older of the two. It added a bit of familiarity for myself – she was living the life I had led for the duration of my 20’s so I could relate. Now, I didn’t exactly have a Cannon Roth show up at my door asking if he could crash with me (darn it!) but her life before Cannon was similar to mine. I did love the chemistry between Paige and Cannon – Kendall can write witty banter like no other! And The Room Mate is no exception. There were moments that made me laugh and moments that made me giggle (and yes, there is a difference lol) but overall it was a decent read from Ms. Ryan. Decent sounds terrible… perhaps, cute? Easy? Enjoyable? All of those are relevant. This book doesn’t lack in steam either!! Kendall is a fantastic sex-scene writer and there is a healthy amount it in this book. The Room Mate is written in a dual POV which is excellent and it has a nice flow and I finished it in just a few hours. I am looking forward to The Play Mate in March!! Like I said before, I am a huge Kendall Ryan fan and will read every. single. thing. she writes!!! And that cover… I mean… so so so delicious! Taylor + Cannon = 4ever <3 (haha) A solid 3.5 stars!!

Love story. Paige and Cannon have known each other since they have been young but nothing ever happened between them. Now as independent adults. Paige is single and on her own enjoying life except no relationship but then Cannon comes to stay with her. Cannon is independent but still finishing training to be a doctor and trying to survive all obstacles and crazy ex. They are at different points in life, plus the age gap, and the relationship between them. But that does not stop the chemistry between them and the love that blossoms it was a good story but there was some separation. I will say it was interesting that it was both parties at fault with the separation, instead of just one person. But glad they could both risk a chance to be together. One thing that puzzled me was the crazy ex and 1st scene in the book that seemed were gonna be major players but felt it not really impactful to love story.

Ugh. I try over and over again to read Kendall Ryan books but they all fall short. I love a good trashy book, that takes zero brain power to read but these are about as stimulating as a rock.

Can't wait for more in this series!. ** 4.5 stars** I was so excited for this book when I saw the cover, then I read the blurb, let's just say the excitement kept building the entire time I read the book. This is probably one of my favorite Kendall Ryan books to date. The touch a "forbidden romance" between a friend and her best friend's little (even though he was one fine piece of man) brother was perfect. It was different because Paige is a little older instead of the guy always being older. Cannon is hot. I couldn't get over how self confident he was. It made me like him instantly, but then again I always like the strong confident males. Cannon is the care taker, the med student, the little brother and most importantly the lover. Everything about him makes you love him even more. Watching him fall for Paige made it even better. Paige is best friends with Cannon's sister Allie. But Allie doesn't know she's always been attracted to him. So when Cannon needs a place to stay, how does she tell Allie no? She can't really. Watching their chemistry was so much fun to read. But will she ever admit she is in love with him or will it be too late? I can't wait for more in this series!

Loved this book!. Checks all the boxes as far as sexy romances go. Just the right amount of hot and steamy, combined with sweet. I will say that Cannon and Paige could be annoying at times and there were outcomes I wish had been revealed. But still an excellent read.

Another great start to what promises to be a great KR series!. The Room Mate launches Kendall Ryan’s new series – Roommates – and it is a clever, romantic and extremely sexy book with an entertaining and unexpected plot twist. Rather than the typical romance where the girl falls for her brother’s best friend, The Room Mate’s girl falls for her best friend’s little, younger brother. It’s a nice change of pace, and there is something particularly enjoyable about reading an older woman with a younger man. Of course, they’re both in their twenties and only four years apart, so this is by no means a cougar romance. (Not that there’s anything wrong with those either. Did I just create a new sub-genre?) Cannon Roth’s favorite appendage seems to have voodoo powers that make women fall hopelessly in love with him. This might not sound like a problem except Cannon is finishing medical school and not looking for a relationship, and these mesmerized women start acting like psychotic loonies when doesn’t return their feelings. His apartment was just trashed by one of his crazies, and he needs a place to stay for his last two months of school. Luckily, his big sister’s best friend, Paige, has an extra bedroom he can use to crash. Unluckily – depending on how you look at it – he’s been half in love and fully in lust with Paige since he was a tween. Paige hasn’t seen Cannon in years and is very surprised that he’s not a kid anymore and certainly not her best friend’s cute-but-nerdy little brother. She’s extremely attracted to him, but knows his sister would not approve of them sleeping together or having a relationship of any kind. Heck, she doesn’t think they should get involved, but her body isn’t listening to her mind. She realizes her new roommate could end up being her Pandora’s Box and these two short months could feel like forever. As she gets reacquainted with the mature, hunky, soon-to-be-doctor Cannon, Paige realizes these two months could actually be the start of her forever. Kendall Ryan can be relied upon to deliver a smart romance that will make your Kindle emit steam while you laugh, sigh and ultimately smile, and she delivers with The Room Mate. A day spent reading a Kendall Ryan book is a day very well spent, and I can’t wait for the next book in this new sexy series.

Hot. Romantic and steamy he comes across as cocky but really isn't.

Super great. Couldn't put this book down, I would have left myself on a cliffhanger! I read the whole thing in one day and I don't regret a single second!

Loved!. Great read! Couldn’t put it down! They were funny together and I could feel their energy as I read it!

Perfect blend of Friends to Lovers & Forbidden Love. 4.5 stars The Room Mate is a perfect blend of friends to lovers romance with a healthy dose of forbidden love (best friend's little brother). Cannon and Paige have known each other since childhood, but things take a steamy and emotional turn once they unexpectedly begin living together. This is the first book in the Roommates series, but can be read as a standalone. I loved Cannon and Paige, individually and together. They are both caring, smart, and independent people, but they also have their insecurities and baggage. Neither wants to put themselves truly out there. Paige is fearful of the loss of her friendship with Cannon's sister, Allie, as well as the possible hurt and rejection she may face if she gives into her attraction. Cannon doesn't want anything to interfere with his goals to be a physician and to take care of his mother and sister, but how can he resist his childhood crush? The story is told from both of their points of views and it really helped to understand the struggle and emotions each of them were dealing with. Cannon may be 4 years younger than Paige, but these two have amazing chemistry and I loved their witty banter and steamy moments. Cannon is equal parts tender and sweet as he is dominant and assertive. His cute relationship with his mother was adorable, but I did find Allie to be too judgmental and annoying. I understand her concerns, but Cannon and Paige are adults and they can do what ever they want with their lives. I also didn't quite believe that someone as smart as Cannon, would continually find/hook up with such crazy obsessive women. The crazy ex's drama seemed a little too over the top. For better or for worse, both Cannon and Paige make decisions that they think are for the best for everyone. I do wish these two would have spent a little more time being honest with each other though, rather than assuming they knew what the other was thinking and feeling. It made the epilogue that much sweeter though and who doesn't love lemonade? ;) Overall, this was a sexy and sweet book with both lighthearted, laugh out loud scenes and heavier, more emotional moments. I felt invested in Cannon and Paige and the push and pull between them had me feeling all the feels! I can't wait to read the next book in the series! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.*

Provocative, playful and wickedly entertaining!. Lemonade never tasted so sweet! Provocative, playful and wickedly entertaining! The Room Mate is a sinfully, swoon-worthy romance about shared desires - what feels so right, but can look so wrong - and the fear of losing focus on what's most important. It's about the struggles in life; that no matter how bad it made seem, there is always the potential of making lemonade out of life's most sour lemons. Paige and Cannon....wow, what a love story! Their dynamic sparked from the pages the second Paige opened her front door. The flirtatious banter, the sexual undertones, and their shared history with each other was so wonderfully written. I absolutely loved Cannon's dedication to his family. And the respect Paige had for Cannon, his need for accomplishment and to provide a better life than what he grew up in. Not once did I feel an awkwardness with the age gap between Paige and Cannon. Cannon's maturity and focus balanced Paige's hard work ethic. And when they finally came together, it was like they were meant to be. Even with the constant meddling from Allie, which I didn't care for - because come on!...they are grown adults and can do whatever they want - I felt like it showcased true compassion and sensitivity from both Paige and Cannon, on how they considered other's thoughts and emotions ahead of their own. The underlining current of drama completely helped drive the story, and the "seriousness" of their relationship made you think about being in the other person's shoes, so to speak. But with all the what-ifs, and should-we or shouldn't-we, I think Paige and Cannon handled themselves with as much selflessness as one possibly can. They would break their own hearts first over the hearts of others. Kendall Ryan writes her books with a natural uniqueness and quality that captures her reader's attention immediately - and I'm not just talking about her book covers! The passion and emotion conveyed is a true credit to Kendall, herself. The Room Mate is another example of her incredible talent, and legitimate status as a bestselling author; an undeniable 5 star must read!

So good!. Maybe having a big sister through the years does have its merits. Don’t you love that age doesn’t matter after you’re in your twenties or thirties? Love should be enjoyed and not stressful with people or relatives that should support you no matter what. Paige and Cannon finally made it work by following their hearts. Cannon was so mature and his communication skills were the prompt he needed for HEA. More men could take a lesson from Cannon. LC in NM

not bad but not good. story was plain okay.

Me. Too rushed. Ending was awkward

3.5 STARS of Adorable Sweetness. You seriously gotta love the geek to hottie type of read! BFF's little brother is no longer that geeky smart kid that used to follow you around...now he is a doctor in training with ripples everywhere and a reputation for attracting psychos who want to burn him to the ground. Cannon Roth is the ultimate in ego plus sweet. Paige is the sister's BFF who didn't realize he had turned into such a hottie. But could sleeping with him really make you wild enough to go bat crap crazy....her wager is no. A very sweet, adorable read with very mild angst, a very witchy sister and some serious steam. The slightly older woman and the boy turned to man that she just can't resist. No one should be that hot in a pair of scrubs! Cannon and Paige's story is the perfect rainy day read that will leave you with the warm and fuzzies!

Making lemonade. You ever had that urge to smack characters in the head? Well, I did. Many times. Cannon and Paige made me so frustrated that I could have strangled them both. But all that aside, I really enjoyed this read. Kendall Ryan has a way of sucking you in. This was one of those reads where you blink and it's almost over. It really catches your attention. You don't realize you've come to the end. I loved the interaction between Cannon and Paige. I sympathized with both of them and their positions. Really enjoyable read. I highly recommend.

It's ok.. I like some drama and good character growth and this was just ok in both of those areas. The ending was ok too at best. If you just want some generic steamy scenes you'll be fine here, but that is all the farther the book reaches. Just fine. I didn't notice any major editing/spelling errors so that was very nice.

Fantastic, Witty, Sexy. A wonderful read that was equal parts sexy, funny and heart felt.

Great read!. Great read, unfortunately couldn’t stop reading it so I finished it in a few hours! Excited to read some more of this authors book!

Cute. I voluntarily received a copy of The Room Mate for a Blog Tour and an honest review. The story was cute and I enjoyed it, the chemistry between Paige and Cannon was off the charts. I would have enjoyed it more had Paige had more confidence and could voice what she wanted instead of acting like a mouse. Yet I guess had she done that it would have been a completely different story. Cannon, (how do authors come up with these names?) is finishing med school and is super alpha. Ryan blended alpha and Dr. in training seamlessly, yet it gave him the vulnerability and personality. Cannon is one of those characters that becomes a book boyfriend. For me the drawback to the story was Paige, she was such a mouse. She is older than Cannon by four years and let's fear rule her. Fear of rejection, fear of trying, fear of disappointing or angering people. I prefer my female leads to be more confident. Overall the story was cute, with nothing that really jumped out as a surprise. I am giving it 3 Boundless stars, it was good.

Addictive!. Cannon, what can I say about this mysterious man? He’s a nearly qualified doctor and is aiming to get a residency but he can’t seem to pinpoint the speciality he wants to do. FYI, when you find out which one it is, if you’re anything like me your heart will melt I promise. I swooned. I love how diverse and different Cannon is, you can’t accuse him of not being different let’s say. He’s come out of a break up with someone who lets say hasn’t quite got all their marbles, but he’s so attracted to Paige. I think the main thing I love is that he doesn’t hide it. He makes it clear that he likes her, I like a man that knows what he wants! He’s cocky, self assured and very confident, for me he’s the ideal man! Paige, she’s not sure about Cannon moving in even if it is on a temporary basis as her room mate. She’s wary of it especially as Cannon is her best friend’s brother, can I just say that just makes it hotter!! Paige and Cannon have chemistry, I can’t say how it works out or if it even does work out but I promise you this, it’s worth the read. This book is a sweet but insanely and intensely hot. It is seductive, it is fun and it has the hallmarks and trademarks of an amazing Kendall Ryan creation. I have always been a big fan of this author’s writing because its fresh, different and each book has its own voice. I can relate to her stories and this story is no different. It boasts love, affection and fighting for what you want. It tells the reader to not give up on what you want, see what you want and grasp the opportunity with both hands. I devoured this book in a few hours which is rare for me these days which again just proves how much I connected and fell in love with this book. The only thing that slightly put me off is the slow burn, I like slow burns but this felt dragged out at points but essentially it is a fun read, and I did enjoy it a lot! Really looking forward to more from this author soon!! 4 stars!

Great Read. Kendall Ryan does it yet again, this author just has the ability to brighten up a dull day with her words, she brings it all to the table on her novels and this was no different. Cannon is a fabulous character, training to be a doctor, ruggishly handsome and had just the best filthy one liners. Overall a great character to read. Paige is the best friend of Cannon's older sister, is totally sidelined when she meets a now grown up Cannon, she is independent, funny and sexy. The book flows well, the story ticks along with just the right amount of sexiness and angst. Overall the book will make you smile, laugh, swoon and give you that touch of the will they, won't they vibe to keep the book interesting. I read this in a day and I loved it and I'd recommend this for a good cheer you up read that's not too heavy.

5 stars for the cover?... but the story ruined it!. It was a bit strange and not in a good way, kind of embarrassing and unnecessary bits of the story that seemed like they were thrown in at the 11th hour. Painful to read and skipped parts in the last third.

A really sweet read. Overall I thought this was a very good romance book to get swept up in. I liked the characters and the story of there past together. I really loved how our heroine Paige was older than our deviously handsome hero Cannon. The chemistry between these two are explosive. I wouldn't get to court up in the medical side of the story as a lot of it is inaccurate but it was a really good try. Once you get into the characters you will be swept away in their romance and won't care how inaccurate it was. I really did enjoy this book from Kendall Ryan and can't wait to read the next one. * Honest review for free book provided from ARC*

I really wanted to love it!!. I wanted to love this book but I only liked it. It took too long to get into it! I also found the style of writing to go from quite erotic to very formal, (which may have been the intention to highlight the difference in characters) however for me it was too much of a jump.

Captivating. Hooked from the first page 😍 Finished in 2 hours!

One of my favorite authors!. Kendall Ryan gets me every time. The Room Mate was sweet, sexy and sassy, with a completely unexpected dose of heartbreaking feels. This story really has everything I look for in a book.

The Room Mate. I tend to always blame the author for the inability to get to sleep and read way past my bedtime. So now the blame lies on Kendall Ryan for her great talent to create a story that kept me captivated and addicted for the better part of the night. I'm so tired , I'm like a walking zombie. But you know what? I'll do it again for her. This 5 star story includes an extremely hot Cannon that melted the ice of the Princess. Let's face it she had ice queen written all over her. Cannon needs a place to stay for a few months, so his sister, Allie, asks her best friend, Paige if he can crash at her place. They've known each other as children but they haven't seen each other in a long time. Paige remembers him as the 4 year younger, annoying pesky little geek who always had his nose in a book. But the Cannon standing on her doorstep is anything but that. He's an hot 24 yo Med student who's pretty confident about himself. Oh! Boy! Spark will fly. This is the classic story of the somewhat forbidden love. He doesn't need any distractions in order to finish med shcool. His sister reminds him often of it. They've been warned to stay away from each other. I basically read this story in one sitting, once I started reading it, it was almost close to impossible to put down. There was never a dull moment in sight. It was a short read without the added boring details that we tend to get sometimes to just fill a book up. I was captivated by this beautiful creative storyline that flowed very well. There were parts that were heartbreaking and that it hit home for me. As a nurse myself, I know how it feels to loose patients. I like that the author included some of that because it defined Cannon's character. I just adored these characters very much. From Cannon the foul mouthed, sexy and sweet with his selfless acts. Paige had a cold demeanour on the exterior but she was protecting herself. She really wants to be with Cannon but she doesn't want to loose her friendship with Allie. This story was even funny that I found myself chuckling a time or two. So bottom line is that I loved everything about this story and wouldn't change anything about it. This is a standalone told in a dual POV. I strongly recommend this wonderful story. P.S. It helps to have a cover like this one because he was imprinted in my mind.
