Fast, Hard Hitting BUT Surprise, Surprise!. Another Patterson best. The reading chapters are fast so they tend to keep one in suspense. As usual there are little twists and turns but a huge finish that I, frankly, hadn’t seen coming.

No wonder James Patterson is the best fiction writer of all times. The Black Book is awesome, I don’t know how he does it but when I grow up I want to write like James Patterson...end of story!!!

The Black Book. I've been reading James Patterson books forever and I think this book is one of, if not, the best I have read. Read thru the night and couldn't put down until I finished. I thought I knew how it ended and was so wrong. Loved it.

Black book. Thoroughly enjoyed this book! It is well written, has a great steady pace of thrill, and keeps you guessing. I was constantly looking for more precious time to read it longer but savoring it was just as satisfying. I hope to find another Patterson book with the same reward for my time as he has always been a favorite of mine.

A great book. This book is awesome really, the events were unexpected and mysterious completely, it attracts the reader and it makes the reader feel as he/ she lives within the events.

Confusing. Over-plotted. Everything has to fall into place to make this plot work. It crosses and recrosses time switching from past to present with convenient memory lapses by the protagonists. Lots of characters but most of them just a cardboard facade (or two). At the end, most of the villains punished but one cared little about them or the protagonist. Save yourself the money and time.

Ellis is good!. The Black Book is well worth the time to read. I doubt Patterson wrote a single word of the story. Take a shot!

David Ellis is a better author than James Patterson. Invisible, The Murder House, and now The Black Book. Whenever David Ellis writes for James, the novels are always so much more better than your average Patterson branded book. I highly recommend it.

Telegraph. Awful writing full of the worst metaphors throughout. A bit like a really bad detective movie from the 50's. The plot was ridiculous and the bi reveal telegraphed many times from the start. Not worth it.
