Losing Your Head by Clare Kauter Book Summary

She’ll clear his name of murder – if she doesn’t kill him first.

Checkout-chick turned amateur sleuth Charlie Davies at your service.

My nemesis has been accused of offing his billionaire uncle for an inheritance, and as much as I’d love to see James McKenzie rot in prison, there are two problems.

One: He definitely didn’t do it. (Probably.)

Two: In exchange for proving his innocence, he’ll pay up big.

And I simply can’t resist his… cash.

I have to find the killer somehow, because the reward money isn’t the only thing on the line. If I don’t catch the murderer before they catch me –

I might just lose my head.

Caution: Contains swearing, occasional inappropriate jokes and men with seriously hot surfaces. You have been warned.

Losing My Head. LOL! The clumsy protagonist in this story was quite comedic and the book was so well written that I clearly visualized every scene. I giggled.. Sometimes outright laughing.. throughout the book!

Losing your head. Charlie Davies gives hope to klutzes. Despite regularly sporting bruises from her inability to avoid hurting herself, she somehow manages to stay alive. When she quits her job at a seedy grocery store, she stumbles into a better job at an investigation firm. This puts her in the perfect position to investigate a childhood friend whom she can’t stand anymore for murder. But does she want him to be guilty? And will she survive her own lack of grace as she rushes into dangerous situations? The author offered a crash course in Australian slang as well as many laughs as Charlie pursued opportunities to bruise and break herself.

Good Read. This book was hard to put down and had moments that made me laugh out loud which is a feat. I haven’t laughed like this since I read the Calamity Jayne series. I will definitely be purchasing the next book and the rest of this series provided it continues to be as funny and entertaining as this one.

Losing your Head. Worst book ever! Most of it written when the author was 13, and it shows. Could hardly get through a chapter without seeing the “f___” word used. Guess that made her feel grown up!

Losing your head. Don’t waste your time. Move on.

Losing Your Head. Extremely good writing. I had to read slowly so not to miss any puns, jokes, jabs.

Took a bit. But I really liked it. Her style of writing took me a bit to get used to, but once I got into it's rhythm I didn't want to stop. The cast of characters is relatable and well rounded. The story line had me guessing until the end. Very enjoyable reading!

Losing your head. Cute, enjoyable read. Stand-alone story with a subtle lead into the next book.

Losing Your Head. I have never laughed so much reading a murder mystery! Charlie is a klutz and totally owns it. She quits her job in a grocery store and ends up working for a security/PI firm. There she learns her childhood friend turned arch nemesis is being investigated for the murder of his rich uncle. Charlie would like to believe he did it, but just can’t, so she sets out to prove his innocence. The rest you’ll have to find out. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Slow start, but loved it!. At first the main character was such an annoying teenager (I’m 51) I was really struggling to find a reason to continue reading. However, something shifted in the book and the humour overtook. After that I enjoyed her observations and the ridiculous things that happen to her so much I might even read the next one.

Ten stars. This series is better than the witch series I loved this book so hilarious

Losing Your Head. If you enjoy irony, this is for you. Plenty of LOL moments, there is a tiny cliff hanger but it won't spoil your enjoyment of the book, it's really just a slight encouragement to continue with the series.

Puntastic. A surprisingly addictive read. The combination of the main characters clumsiness and love of puns makes this book a winner!

Losing Your Head. Excellent read. Very funny and different!

Good read. I found this book to be really interesting. Good story and fun read.

Loved it !. I absolutely couldn't stop reading. Love your style of writing, fresh, funny and addictive 👍
