A Court of Wings and Ruin - Sarah J. Maas Book Reviews

  • A new secret fave series! (VPuj2)

I could not put this series down, and read all 4 books in a week!!! Rhysand might be my favorite book character of all time. I love fantasy series and this one captured me completely. I can’t wait for the next one! One caveat is the explicit sex/some swearing, so I don’t feel I can recommend or share my love of this series as widely as I’d like to-but still a worthy read and escape to an amazing world!
  • In love with this series (Roman1979*)

I started reading this series last month, and I gave it a rest for two weeks then went right out and bought the rest of the series. A friend of mine at work got me hooked and I was so glade that I bought the last book. I haven’t read it yet I realize it’s much shorter then her other books but from what I read it gives the impression for more to come and I can’t can’t wait..
  • Epitome of heart (fantasyfiesta)

This series didn’t catch me initially. I found it somewhat hollow.... but it definitely surprised me. These characters developed so much depth. This story was the very definition of love and the human experience. Or should I say, the experience of life. It was heart breaking and enchanting. Every chapter kept me wanting more and so sad that I knew it was coming to a close. I know that when I read a story and it makes me reflect on my own life, it is one of the best types of stories there are. This is the kind of story that inspires dreamers.
  • Breathtaking (lover or books)

Read the series and fall in love
  • Decent! (Cool beans 121)

Overall, I’d give this story 3.5 stars. Plenty of action, twists & turns, death, intimacy, and some truths. There are a few scenes that felt forced or didn’t necessarily aide the storyline. But other than that my only real gripe is the whinnying inter monologue by Feyre during critical times. Shake, shake, shake! Uggh! Anyway, overall A Court of Wings & Ruin was entertaining. I have this book in both ebook & audiobook versions. The narrator did a nice job with providing unique voices and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.
  • Magical (norcalgirl17)

    Love love love
  • Never stop!! (DreamRhysand&Feyre)

From the very start of book one I fell in love with this series! It is truly one series I could read forever, and I hope we readers get that privilege! Bring on more books in the series...please!
  • A rare connection (sperod)

Maas has woven a tale that leaves the readers feeling every emotion its’ characters so heartbreakingly portray. The third book in the series is undoubtedly the greatest and most consuming. This book had me yelling in fear, shaking in laughter and sobbing in grief. But my final emotion was the greatest of all. Thank you Sarah J. Maas for allowing us to be a part of your world. I cannot wait for what you will grace us with next.
  • Amazing yet not satisfying (Jarjar007)

Half way through the book and I can't put it down. But as I read the second half of the book I felt the book was a bit rushed to be finished. The imagination of the world died and I felt the author just added nonsensical plots to fill in the holes. Hopefully the new book will be a better description of what happened at the end of the 3rd book.
  • Great books! (Tranquilli85)
