Cliche but just as enjoyable.. I’ll never get tired of reading these same types of stories no matter how many of them are out there or that I have read. This is my first from this author though and I love the writing style. Im super picky with writing styles but I love this one. Highly recommend!

Best book.. I'm in love with Tijans style of writing. It's so captivating. This was a job well done. 10 stars.

Way. Beyond. Impressed!. This book was sooooo good! Amazing even! The book has quite a number of connections with the Carter Reed series, so I recommend reading those first (I promise you won’t be disappointed), as I did. After finishing the Carter Reed series and being introduced to Cole in book 2, I immediately purchased this book because I knew I wanted to learn more about his character’s past, future and get to know him on a deeper level. The author went above and beyond exceeding my expectations and I couldn’t of dreamt of a better story for Cole. The book was really interesting and captivating, and I really enjoyed reading it. I loved every part, even if I had to shed more than a few tears during one part. Now, however I’m sad that it’s coming to an end! :(( ...but definitely I think this is a MUST READ!

Good story, lacks passion. The story was good, but the passion was seriously lacking.

Slow Start. The book started out very slow for my taste. The writing could have been better. The story line was a change then the usually romance books, which I liked.

Love Tijan. Loved Cole.. I read this book in one sitting which is isn't a huge surprise as that's how I typically read all of Tijan's book. I pre-ordered it awhile back and just recently got the notification that it was available so I downloaded it and read it all. Fantastic. My main word to describe this book. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was written well and it was captivating. Would absolutely recommend this book as well as others from this author.

Must read. I cannot believe some of the reviews. This will be the second time I have read this book, and I can’t get enough of it. Well written, great plot, great characters, I enjoyed this book throughly.

Literally obsessed. I LOVE all of Tijian's books! I've read the Carter Reed books and after reading the review about this book I had to pre order. I'm not gonna lie I was a little skeptical, but as always Tijian pulls through with another great book! I couldn't help my self, I had to finish this book it was so great, so within the first day I was done. If that doesn't tell you how good it is I don't know what will. I encourage any readers to also check out her other book when finished, you won't be able to put them down. A personal favorite of mine are the Falling Crest Series, and newly added Cole! Enjoy!

Keeps you guessing all the way through the story. I enjoyed reading Cole's story. It was a love story with a twist. It takes you on a journey with several characters. It's about overcoming fears and acceptance. It's difficult to accept life's surprises. Great read with a full story.

Good book. Worth the read

Another amazing book by the amazing Tijan!!. OMG! Another superfantabulously amazing book from Tijan!! Seriously, could Cole be any more wonderful?!?! The head of a mafia family with a heart of gold! I loved Carter Reed, but Cole is so vicious and lethal, but still so dang lovable! He's definitely one of my favorite characters from any of Tijan's books! If you haven't read the Carter Reed books, I'd recommend reading them first (They're wonderful too!), as hey give some background into Cole and his life. This book takes place after Carter Reed 2. It follows Cole one he returns to the head of the Morisimo family and to Chicago, and Addison a freelance writer. Addison's husband was killed in a car accident and she's trying to move on with her life. She makes the move to downtown Chicago and sees the most gorgeous man she's ever seen while having dinner with her friend. She wasn't looking for a relationship, but when she finds out Cole works out and has something to do with her building it all spirals from there. There are secrets and betrayals and passion and lies and lots of steamy sex scenes all in a superbly written book. Loved, loved, loved it. Tijan is amazing! Probably my favorite author ever! I seriously cannot put her books down once I start reading them. I read them over and over and they're just as good the second, third, fourth and fifth times! I've never read anything of hers that I didn't love!

Cole. This was definitely a dark mafia book as described- but not too dark for me. I loved the characters & the suspense. I didn’t want it to end- that being said, I was a little disappointed with how it ended. There had been so much drama throughout the book- but the end felt like oh, okay. But I’d definitely read it again. Personally I think the 2 Carter Reed books should be read first then Cole. Those are great also.

Plot twists. I am so shook by this book. It was more than I expected and I loved every second reading it!!

Slow beginning. It took a long time for this book to get going. Overall, I think the story was good, and I loved the characters, especially Cole. This one was not as good as Carter Reed.

Great read!. So exciting, i couldn’t put it down. Suspense on almost every page.

Cole. I really loved it. Took me 2 days when it normally would’ve taken me just a day but that’s not the point...the point is I thought the book was really great. Enjoyed it. Got a bit dragging towards the end found myself skipping a few pages but great nonetheless. Intense too.

@michellesbookstoread. COLE …. TIJAN… read in one night… you could feel the electricity and connection the characters had pouring out of the book as you read! Lots of twist, suspense, mobs, love, and an ending worth reading a book to find. Enjoyed the book and already purchased Carters’s series… really surprised by some of the reviews.. I do not agree with them. I read sometimes up to 3 books a week and thoroughly enjoyed this storyline and character development. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

So in love with these characters.. I just finished this. I’ve been reading this for 2 days after finishing both Carter Reed novels. I just couldn’t put this book down. I read the scene with Addison and Cole sitting down for dinner at his friend’s restaurant so many times. How she became overwhelmed with emotion just from being next to him so she had to scoot a few seats away and him leaning back looking at her. Tijan’s way of going into detail makes me daydream like it’s my day job. The details in this novel leaves me breathless. I am completely in love with Cole. I’ve been highlighting and booking more as I continued to read. I am completely in love with this book.

Save your time and money. Poorly written, unlikable characters, super cheesy and an embarrassing/cringy female protagonist. No witty or strong female characters. No character development. Just a horrible book. I am truly baffled with the good reviews, the worst book I have ever read!

Great story!. I don't know what it is about mafia books, but I can't seem to get enough of them. This one was pretty good, it certainly entertained me. There were some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I love stuff like that. It makes the story not only interesting, but keeps it moving and I wasn't bored. I didn't read the Carter Reed series so I must make sure I rectify that soon. He was in it, but I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything major.

Half done and why is this PG? And a romance? Where is it?. So far the story is good, but as soon as the leading characters start to make moves on each other, it closes the scene. With all these reviews, I thought this was going to have amazing romance. If I wanted a teen book, I would definitely find better authors. I’m middle aged and want the steam!!!!

Loved it. This book has brought back to me everything I love about the author. I now want to free up time in my reading schedule and re read everything Tijan. Yes I loved it that much. I started this last night and read three quarters of it until I forced myself to put it down & get some sleep. I woke this morning feeling another eye infection was coming & I grabbed a coffee and finished the book. There was no way I could wait a few days to see how this was gonna end. After Addisons husband died she has struggled to move on. She's not living. She's just about surviving. When her friend gives her an opportunity to move into a new and private apartment building she goes for it. This is where she meets the mysterious Cole. He's a dark, dangerous, mysterious mafia boss. I was so sucked into this story and felt my heart was gonna thump right outta my body. Just when I thought the author was gonna give us a lovely ending there was a twist and I so wished it wasn't too early for alcohol. A really brilliant well written story that I absolutely loved. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Good & bad.. Really good chemistry & suspense between the main characters but really annoying that the writer pretty much skips all the naughty scenes

Cole. What can I say…loved it! Tijan just knows how to write an awesome story. Fantastic mafia romance. Cole and Addison are great together with a few twists and turns. Could not put it down and frankly would love another book for these two characters. Definitely worth a read, would recommend every time.

O.m.g could. Not. Put. It. Down.. I seriously and honestly started reading this book yesterday and stayed up til 2 am reading until my eyes just closed on their own only to wake up and finish the book this morning because I just needed to . My family are not impressed and I’ll feel it later haha . I LOVED this book . It has drama and suspense friendship love , HOT love , violence (but not too much ;) ) grief and loss , hope , everything it has a bit of everything !! Please please tell me there will be more Cole and carter and Emma and Addi. Yet another brilliant piece ! ! ❤️

Good read, kept me wanting more.. Great characters. Great romance. Great ending. The story line was good too, a bit sketchy in some parts where it didn't flow on nicely. Some of the commentary didn't make sense, and you could tell the writer was fumbling for words. But, overall a good book and would recommend.

Loved it. I’m so freaking happy Cole got a HEA! I love Cole and Addison they worked so well together. I also loved the secondary characters SIA was hilarious and Jake was such a Nerd.

Book boyfriend material. CHARACTERS: Can I say, while I don’t often LOVE Tijan’s heroines, I always LOVE her heros and Cole is no exception. He is sweet, protective, manly and just so COOL. Addison is a little average in my opinion. STORYLINE: I felt it was a bit slow to begin with, there was little interaction between the main characters for pretty much the whole first half of the book. When the romance starts flowing, there’s not a whole lot but Cole is just so wow, and I do love mafia romance so I enjoyed those romantic scenes very much. SPOILER(ish): There is a “misunderstanding” that breaks up the couple. I personally do not like these situations but it happens fairly close to the end so not such a big deal.

Cole - phew!!. Loved this book - mafia romance at its best and so nice it’s a stand-alone !! Had it all - intrigue, sizzle and hot scenes. Mafia never looked so good.

Another page-Turner from Tijan. If you’ve liked Tijan’s other mafia-based titles then you’ll love this one. Better than Carter Reed in my opinion - moves at a faster pace - but not as good as Bennett Mafia (but that book is next level). Cole is super intriguing and Addison is a relatable woman who, although is dealing with her husband’s death, knows her feelings and isn’t frustrating like some of Tijan’s female protagonists can be.

Simply amazing. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like a “mafia” style book but I read the entire thing in one day. I won’t lie, I had to force myself to read the first few chapters but once I really got into the book I was HOOKED.

Great!. This was so goood, I read in a day. So tense, such intense emotions- a great read.
