Not worth $8.00. A boring story, really and definitely not worth $8.00! Had I known I might have paid $2.99 for it but I doubt it. I must admit I "thumbed" through several pages while reading because it was the same old drivel just retold and retold again. There really wasn't any character build up, or a defined turning point of their relationship or any real "mystery". Someone is trying to kill him so he tells his best friend and does nothing else until the woman suggested a party. Good grief. Ridiculous.

Captivating Characters. Loved, loved the story of Beth and Alex. Two very strong characters who both learn that labels/rumors are not always true. Their journey is filled with love, laughs and tears! You won’t be disappointed!

Deliciously, Mesmerizing!. Deliciously, Mesmerizing! This is the first story that I have read by Anna Bennett and I was dazzled by this superbly well written romance, and I can’t wait to read more from this author. These fascinating and well developed main characters ensnared me with their sizzling sparring and charming, seductive romance and love, that brings this story come to life. But this story has so much more going on than romance, it is filled with mystery, intrigue, danger and suspense, leaving you on the edge of your seat and turning those pages as fast as you can. Amazing, tantalizing and intriguing historical romance! Don’t miss this one! Loved it! I voluntarily requested and received an ARC through Entangled and NetGalley and wrote an honest review.

Enjoyed this story, danger threatens love. I really enjoyed this story. Beth is a companion to Alex's grandmother. When Alex shows up, Beth gets the wrong idea. To protect her charge, she dares Alex to grant his grandmother three wishes and spend time with her before shuffling her out of his life. Alex is trying to figure out who is trying to kill him without endangering anyone else. Beth pushes him until he tells her things he has told no one else. Their connection strengthens as the danger comes closer. I had a tough time putting this one down, and I highly recommend this story. I have made Anna Bennett a must read and look forward to reading more. I received a copy of this story through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

A Delightful and Fun Read. I Dared The Duke is an enjoyable and fun read. The Duke of Blackshire needed to convince his grandmother that it would be in her best interest to leave London. Beth couldn’t be happier with her position as a companion for Alexander Savage’s grandmother. The dowager duchess depended on her and Beth loved to be needed. Although Beth didn’t care for living in the same house as the notorious rake, Alexander Savage, the Duke of Blackshire, Beth doubted that their paths would cross often enough to be bothersome. She was wrong. The moment the Duke laid eyes on Beth he wanted her out of his house. He didn’t need another complication in his life. Beth, however, presented him with, an enticing compromise. She told the Duke that she would help him persuade his grandmother to move out of London, if he granted her three wishes. The fact that Beth thought the Duke didn’t want to spend time with his grandmother was laughable. The Duke adored his grandmother. So instead of Beth being fired, she became the Duke’s ally. Their agreement, however, brought Beth and the notorious rake together, for too many hours, too often, for them to keep their hearts from falling for one another. Although, this book is not entirely realistic it is entertaining, humorous and very well-written. Thank you, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy.

I Dared the Duke. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review. I thought the novel is well-written. The writing flowed and it was easy to read. The story has a contemporary feel in the way that the duke and Elizabeth interacted and spoke to each other. It would seem that in serving the role of a companion, the heroine would have showed some amount of deference to the duke, especially since she would have grown up with knowledge of the peerage and rules of behavior would have been drilled into her. I found it a little hard to connect to the heroine. I found it easier to connect to the duke and his desire to protect his grandmother and Elizabeth. The hero and heroine do share some great dialogue where they reveal their feelings. I really liked the ending of this story and felt the author did a great job of revealing the characters' love for each other.
