I So Love This Book!
I am in serious love with West Reynolds, and I don't care who knows it...
Okay, so, we all know that, if Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott write a book, I'm going to read it. These ladies and their hot rockers, man, I tell you what. Sizzling.Hot, every single time. DIRTY DUET, the ladies' latest release in their Found In Oblivion series, goes beyond everything that I expected to give me more, more, more.
It only took me a hot second to fall in love with West. Keyboardist for the band Warning Sign, he's playful, talented, sexy as all get-out. But, more than that, his heart, y'all. Zapped by an immediate connection with the delightfully unfiltered and up-for-anything Lauren Bryant, West is all in before he knows it, and wouldn't have it any other way.
Lauren has been sheltered by her protective and distant parents, and, now that she's fallen from grace, so to speak, she wants to experience everything. Originally on a quest to gather information for the project that will be the key to getting back into her parents' good graces, half an hour with West has her seeing him as much more than just data. Because he accepts Lo for exactly who she is, loving every zany thing about her that others have tried to change. She can be herself, and she just blossoms.
I love all of the characters in the Found In Oblivion series, but West and Lo are my favorite yet (shhh, don't tell the others!). They just stole my heart, and I adore their story, and would LOVE to see much more of them in future (are you listening, Cari and Taryn?!). An absolute 5+-star read for me, I absolutely recommend this book, as well as all of Taryn's and Cari's books, for fans of the rockstar genre. And, while DIRTY DUET is part of a series, you don't have to have read the other books first (although, why wouldn't you?!). Grab this one and start reading. West and Lo will have your heart in no time.
Hilarious! Unique! Hawt!
The writing duo of Quinn and Elliott have been holding out on us. Thank Gawd they allowed West Reynolds to step out from behind his magic keyboard so we could experience all that yumminess for ourselves. I've never been one for men with long hair, but this green eyed dirty talker had even my fingers itching to run through those golden locks.
The synopsis shares that the heroine is a virgin. Well, just forget every stereotype you've ever heard about virgins, because Lauren Bryant isn't your stereotypical anything. That girl is one of a kind, and I adored her because of it. Her unique blend of innocence, intelligence, wit, and eagerness to experience everything- and I do mean evahthang-had me howling with laughter often. I may have wished to have a little of her chutzpah too.
West and Lauren are perfect together. What starts out as a fun weekend to further her education, both in and out of the bedroom, quickly turns into more. These two are fun and oh so dirty. Deliciously so, as all Quinn and Elliott books. Who knew an education could be so darn hot? ;)
One of the other highlights of the story is getting to learn more about the secondary characters, who are awesome in their own right. There is a lot going on. I can't quite pinpoint where everything is going from here, which is the authors' intent. But it really doesn't matter. Imma tag along for the ride like any diehard groupie.
Trust me, you need to read this. It'll make you snort with laughter, tingle in all the best places, and even make you cry a happy tear or ten. The authors have perfected how to pull out all the feels, and Dirty Duet is more proof of that.
Funny and Sexy!!
The third book in Quinn and Elliott's Found in Oblivion series, Dirty Duet, is a fun, steamy and delicious story focusing on West Reynolds, the charismatic and fun-loving keyboardist for Warning Shot. On the surface West appears to be cocky, outgoing and wild but there is so much more to this man that meets the eye. He has a sweet and tender side that will make you swoon but don't let that fool you---this man has a dirty, dirty mouth that will certainly make you squirm! When he meets Lauren Bryant, his world is completely upended as he falls hard for her. Lauren is probably one of my most favorite female characters--she is completely quirky, fun, naive and hilarious. As a sheltered virgin, she is quite inexperienced in the ways of the world and West is happy to step in and teach her everything she wants and needs to know about sex. I loved how she had no filter and would say what was on her mind. Both characters have secrets and there are some very emotional scenes as they come to grips with their pasts and make some tough decisions. We also get to catch up with the rest of the band and go behind the scenes of their mini-tour as they continue on their rise to fame.
I'm a huge fan of rockstar books and Quinn and Elliott write some of the best out there. Dirty Duet is yet another must-read, 5-star book by this dynamic duo and shouldn't be missed!
West and Lauren - good read!
By Christine Miller28
Another good book in this series. In this book, we get to see West take his shot at love. When he sees Lauren at a concert, he had no idea what he would get when he took her backstage. Lauren is a great heroine. She is honest and funny as hell. She has no filter and what she thinks comes out of her mouth. As she learns about West's world and about what being with West is about, she was a lot of fun to watch. Lauren comes into her relationship as a very naive person. After a few weeks with West, she knows what she wants and she isn't going to settle for anything less. I really enjoyed watching her character grow. West is a good guy with a few demons. He has to learn to put those demons to rest if he has a shot at a happily ever after.
Loved catching up with this whole crew. It was a good read.
Absolutely loved this book. West and Lauren both are trying to move on from their past. Lauren's no filter is absolutely refreshing and funny. West is great. I love this relationship and the fact that you see what is going in the band and everything is tied and you see other characters from other series. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliot have again made you want more and you can't put this book down. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
