Such wasted potential. The writing is terrible. The basic plot isn’t too bad, but it suffers severely from a lack of any real interaction between the two lead characters. The author tells us they love each other and have since high school, but there is no actual reasoning or explanation of how those feelings came to be. The timeline is crazy and jumps days ahead in two sentences without a clear break. Sentences frequently don’t make sense and have to be re-read to try and understand. Punctuation is pitiful, the wrongs words are used or misspelled; whoever edited this mess did a horrible job. And the epilogue… I’m sorry that was the worst epilogue in the history of epilogues. The only amusing and intriguing point of this whole book where the secondary characters that are clearly being set up for their own spin off romance book. I wouldn’t mind knowing their story, but I’m not willing to subject myself to the abysmal writing enough to read it. I just wanted this book to end. Awful book.

Dumpster fire level garbage. Taylor & Hunter are immature the entire book! High school level immaturity. It's dragged out for the entire book, it isn't romance it's annoying. (My negative reviews almost always get deleted but you can't trust anything with ONLY good reviews. Just tryin to save someone from the disaster that I suffered through🙂)

Great story. Despite some sad events, this was a fun story to read. The banter between characters was very entertaining and listening in on their thoughts just added to the fun. I enjoyed the jumps back and forth in time. Sometimes that style of writing is difficult to follow but Chapter titles solved that issue. Friends to lovers. This was a great book with some back history about the characters. Hunter and Taylor Jane flip an old house for a tv show contest and have to deal with ghosts from their past while working together and fighting their feelings for each other. Obnoxious. I tried to like this book but all the characters were so immature, they acted like high schoolers instead of late twenties adults, and the main male character calling Taylor Jane to the main female character about 1 million times was so obnoxious. That name doesn’t match at all, I won’t be reading the rest of the books in this serie!

Loved it!. The characters and storyline were great! You just had to cheer for Hunter and his Taylor Jane and hope for that happy ending. Lots of laughter, frustration, and romance in this story.

Actually could not finish it. This book reads like it was written by 13 yr old teenager used to read books for older women Someone else said it is a little naive, well, I wouldn’t use little! No one actually thinks or acts like this, and the conversations are lame

I have some very mixed feelings about this book. I have some very mixed feelings about this book. I love the ‘best friends to lovers’ theme and this book does it very well. I love quirky zany characters and that description fits this group of friends and family to a ”T”. I love a small-town setting and I adore a hero in uniform! But this book really needed to have a better editing job done on it. The number of typos, incorrect word choices, and poor fact checking made me want to pull my hair out by the roots. An allergy to shrimp isn’t necessarily an allergy to seafood – it’s an allergy to crustaceans. A stroke doesn’t happen in the heart, it happens in the brain. The dusting gadget isn’t a “swifter”. I’ve never seen a person “husk” to another place. And how exactly does a successful Marine with “authority issues” work? I’m not a fan of Other Woman drama. I realize that Hunter’s parent’s relationship messed him up. So did the way they died. It’s just really difficult for me to believe that he cares for Taylor Jane the way he’s supposed to when he’s prepared to have and flaunt his FWB relationship in front of her. I also felt like their Happy Ever After happened way to quickly. This pair still had a ton of issues to work through before they got there. I’m curious about Kristen and “Demon”, but I don’t know if I’ll read their book. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
