Poorly written. A very disjointed story. Phrases and paragraphs are repeated. There are jumps in the story where the author writes as if the reader should know things that the author never disclosed. Seems like it was written by an amateur. Or possibly a computer program.

I died a little reading this. There is absolutely nothing that turns me off more than bad grammar. However, this books was a double-edged sword in that it slayed me both with a plethora of grammatical errors on top of ridiculous dialog and way too much explanation. Repetition is not a proper way to develop characters but this author used it ad nauseam. Since it was free I can't get a refund but the time I lost from my life trying to read this book is gone forever.

Spellcheck is not proofreading. I have only read thr first two chapters and have lost count of errors. This is annoying and interferes with the story. Not worth the money for this author! OK, finished the book. The author is a storyteller and has good ideas. However, she is completely ignorant of the English language. Spelling, diction and grammar errors are the rule instead of the exception. Formatting is inconsistent and in spots make no sense. Example: the author stated that one character was in a trans. The correct word is trance, and she didn’t know something so simple. I love to read, but it was painful to read this.

Okay story that requires editing. Telling the reader the same thing over & over again isn’t helpful to the flow of the story (name for computer is “Mac” or at least once or twice in each of the first chapters that her Grandmother’s Cafe needed to succeed. ) There are sudden switches in the story line especially at the end as the murderer is revealed. Noted that the main character’s uncle was infirm at the end but not so earlier. I wanted to like this story….

A spin on cozy. If you are in the mood for a cozy mystery then this one is the one for you. An easy read that flows smoothly. The author will draw you in and and you will feel as though you are part of the storyline. I highly recommend this book. Dana (the main character) is so easy to like. A bonus is the recipe you receive.

Poor. This story was awful. I can’t even describe how utterly ridiculous it is. First of all, does anyone read these before they are put online? I don’t think so. The grammar and the punctuation is atrocious, never mind the story line. It seems like the author may have had two possible scenarios and got confused when publishing this one? One part stands out, in the pharmacy a woman makes a derogatory statement and the mailman tells the heroine not to take offense with what that man said...really? Waste of time.

Not good.... Lots of errors... Horrible, choppy writing. Author repeated her self. So much detail that it was actually annoying. I didn't need to know every vintage item in the house🙄 I couldn't finish this...

Not that good. While I am sure writing a book is much more difficult than I can imagine, this one still needs a lot of work. The plot doesn't really make sense, the dialogue is not natural, and there are plenty of errors in spelling and punctuation. I was relieved it was short and I could finish it quickly. However, I was thankful it wasn't violent or graphic. It was a cozy little book, just not a well written one.

Boring. Too many annoying details.Could not finish it. ..

Editing. Cute story, but felt it needed to be edited and spell checked!

Strawberry Cream Cupcake & Murder. This could have been a cute story, however, there were enough errors in the writing that they became a distraction which ruined the book for me. Most of the errors were grammatical and basic convention issues which could be easily fixed with better editing, although there were also several times the story took shortcuts in plot. With careful editing and revisions, this could be a decent cozy, but not as currently written. Not worth your time if misspellings, run on sentences, or poor grammar impact your reading.

Good afternoon read.. Someone wrote about her sentence structure, but do they realize that is the editor’s job. I enjoyed the plot very much and that there were so many suspects to choose from.

Repetitive language; missing and unnecessary words that showed very poor or non-existent editing and proof reading. Not a good example of the cozy mystery genre, instead more like someone jumping on the bandwagon thinking anyone can write a book. This author can’t write for toffe. Nor cupcakes. Yuk
