A Hero To Keep. Heartwarming, heartfelt, heartbreaking….this story was all this and more. I had this book downloaded for over 6 months and now I wish I would’ve read it sooner. It was so good!I give it one of my rare 5 stars. It deserves it. I loved everything about it including all the characters. Awesome book!

Heros. I loved the whole story. The characters were very believable and the story was very touching. I think this is a must read. Excellent job.

Heartbreaking. Shannon battle for Ryan was heartbreaking. Just goes to show that you don't have to be their birth mother to love a child. Greg loved them both and had the insight and knowledge to help Ryan. Loved the ending.

You will love this story. Lot of tears, superheroes, and a woman who never knew what love was. You will love the ups and downs, the big family who embraces those who need it, and the love of a hero.

Emotional rollercoaster. Having been laid up in bed with a leg injury for the last month, I’ve read a lot of books and they have very much all blended together and I couldn’t tell you what any particular one was about. Not so with this book. It had me laughing, crying and cheering on the characters. They are realistic and flawed and they take you along for the ride. Well worth a read.

A Hero to Keep. Loved this story. Kept me up quite a bit turning those pages to see what happens next. This is my first time reading this author and I’ve already purchased books two and three so I can enjoy some more sleepless nights.

great romance. A Hero To Keep is a wonderful romance story between a young woman who holds on to nothing, and a young man, Greg Hawkins, who believes in family and love. Shannon Vanderfhoff learned early in life not to hold on to things, because they will always be taken from you. She has spent her life letting things go until her sister is murdered and she inherits her nephew, Ryan, to raise. Greg, a therapist who utilizes art therapy, is recommended to help Ryan. Ryan saw his mother killed and has not talked since. Gables characters are fully developed and believable. I found Greg to be a knight in shining armor and Shannon a young woman who has deep insecurities and hurts. Ryan's characters is a sweet heart; typical little boy full of energy once he comes out of his shell. His antics at his grandparents home were hilarious. The secondary characters in this novel add depth to the story and chances for future books. I loved the Hawkins family as they fully love and have each others back. I found this novel entertaining and the correct length for a lazy afternoon read. Although a free book I would have been willing to purchase this book for myself or a friend. It does contain an intense love scene, therefore I recommend this book for young adults and adults.

Compelling. I couldn't put this book down and read through the night until it was finished. Shannon has learnt to keep her distance from people and material possessions, enjoying them in the moment and then letting go. This allows her not to get hurt but is hardly conducive to her forming a relationship with her traumatised 6 year old nephew, who has not spoken since the day he witnessed his mother's murder and whom she has only seen twice since he was born. Greg, an art therapist with a large loving family, helps bring the two of them together and encourages Shannon to fight to hold on to those she cares about. A little predictable but enjoyable. I liked this story even with its predictable happy ending( l knew how Ryan and Patty would get on) The large Hawkins family are engaging and interesting enough that I'm tempted to buy the next book in the series.

Addictive book!. I could not put this down. I was up till two in the morning reading last night. A lovely story with a good twist. Made me happy.

Made me cry. Trigger warnings. Panic attacks and abuse. This hit me harder then I thought it would. Thought it would be more light with a bit of dark stuff mixed in but it’s the other way around. Handled mental illness quiet well. At least from my experience.

Okay.. It’s a sweet story. I like Greg and Shannon. Really, they took real life choices apart from some silly scenarios. The smut scene was terrible, imo. Other than that, a nice read.
