A new side of Gabrielle. I’ve watched a few Gabrielle union myself and been envious of her never ending fountain of youth. This book shows a different side of union. One the tabloids don’t cover. One the Instagram captions don’t have enough room for. Such an eye opening read, ENJOY!

Great read. This story was a great read.. it was interesting and keep the readers attention. The stories were fun and charming and gave Gabrielle a very human like appeal.

I loved this. If I hadn’t been scrolling through my book store, I would have never known about this book. And if I had never read this book I wouldn’t know what kind of things that Gabrielle had to endure to get where she is. The lessons she had to learn. And the choices that make her who she is. I don’t typically write book reviews but I had to for this one. Sometimes as a regular middle class person we don’t think about the experiences that make our favorite actresses or actors or celebrities. We just see them as the characters in movies or tv shows and that’s the extent of it. I appreciate Gabrielle being as open and honest and real as she could be when she wrote this. I just love that she doesn’t sugarcoat any of her decisions or things that she went through. Thank you Nickie for this.

A Good Read. The stories were funny, interesting and sometimes poignant. While at times I found them wordy and tangential, the points would circle back by the end and I realized that there were lessons to be learned from each story and that explained the verbosity of the stories. I had to look up a lot of the references but I learned a lot about one of the faces I had known so long and who helped me recognize myself in media. This was also the first book I’ve successfully finished since having a baby and it’s given me hope that a good subject can always get you through to the end if it’s really good. I liked getting to hear her stories from her own mouth, without them feeling frivolous like a tabloid read. A good read overall. Also, that title was genius—whoever thought of it, I thank you. Because, wine.

Next level honesty. The honesty ‼️ This book is funny , entertaining and deep. You know how you think you know Hollywood actors and actresses? Glad to see that her book matched exactly what her on screen personality displays, bold, beautiful and vulnerable.

FONU :-). This book is everything "we" needed to hear, laugh, and know. Protect Nickie at all costs. 20/10!

Simply AMAZING Read!. As a fan of Gabrielle Union, I knew I would like the book. What I know now, is that I absolutely love Nickie Union’s story, and her storytelling ability. She approaches her truths openly and honestly, in ways that I’ve never read before. She’s direct, but eases you into the rough parts; she’s funny, but makes it clear that some things aren’t always jokes; she makes poignant statements about her experiences as a Black woman in America, but doesn’t take up space in victimization. This truly is a story that any and everyone can find relatability in it’s that good! There were many times I shed a tear, thinking something either reminded me of my own story or made me remember back to a time where I may have heard a story about Gabrielle. Her ability to tackle these uncomfortable subjects openly and honestly make me love and admire her even more. I highly recommend this book; it truly is a GOOD READ!

All Over The Place. I love Gabrielle Union! I think she's a wonderful and talented actress and I could not wait to read this book, but wow, what a disappointment! The book was all over the place, very disjointed, very hard to stay interested. So sad that I had to give it such a low rating.

Wonderful book!. I can honestly say that this was a GREAT read! It’s easy for us regular folk to think that celebs are so different from us and Gabby does a great job of communicating the fact that she is in fact just as normal as the rest of us. I think this book humanizes her... soooo many parts of the book resonated with me. I could not put it down! If never read a book so fast! This book is black girl magic!!!

Her Truth. In this book, Gabrielle finds the guts to share the truth—her truth. You’ll LOL, cry, self-evaluate, and even get frustrated with the author. It’s a remarkable reading journey all black women should experience.

Loved it!. I did not want this book to end! Such a good read. I laughed at certain parts and almost cried at others.

Read it and then read it again.. If I could rate this book 100 starts I would. I am not a reader, but I was going on a long trip and knew that I needed something to occupy my time. I read this entire book in less than a day. As a 23 year old this taught me the importance of confidence, vulnerability, family, and tribulations. Not every story is perfect, but it’s worth it. 10/10 Gabrielle and thank you. ❤️

Astonished.. From the moment I began to read, Mrs. Union-Wade captivated me. Not only was her writing excellent, but she provided the perfect aura to make this book so captivating and comfortable. It was such an easy read, but still made you cry and think. I appreciate the rawness displayed throughout the book. There was not one time she sugar-coated anything, or did not elaborate on something, regardless of it being an uncomfortable subject. There’s not much more to say, you must read for yourself. FYI Black girls, please, please, please, read. You’ll understand why I made a personalized message just for my fellow sisters after reading.
