Whirlwind romance at its best!. I'm a huge fan of Shayla Black and I was so excited for her to be a part of this series! Carson and Ella started off as a business arrangements, but it didn't take them long to stoke the flames that they both felt for each other. Their chemistry was off the charts and the way that they fell for each other was hot. This was a shorter story and can easily be ready in a few hours. I enjoyed the story. The characters were great and the story held my interest. It was a good read.

This was the perfect, quick, and all-around phenomenal read!. Misadventures of a Backup Bride Misadventures of a Backup Bride by Shayla Black was a delightful, steamy, and all consuming romance that I could not put down! From start to finish this book had me hooked in to everything I was reading with these characters, it gave me a story that was fast paced and worked so phenomenally well, and it gave me a reading experience that was fully enjoyable through every word. This story was well written, it was enrapturing as all get out, and it gave me a love story that made me blush and hit my heart in the same breath! This is the first book that I have right by Shayla Black, but I know that it will not be the last. I absolutely loved her writing style. She made it so easy for me to fall right into the story with these characters, and I love how she let me feel and experience it all with them. Her effervescent writing gave me these characters, their personalities, their story, and it just gave me them. I loved that. I loved how I felt like I was living this book with them and it made this book even more enjoyable to read because of that. What I loved about Misadventures of a Backup Bride was the premise of the story, how this author perfectly blended a story of steam and sexy with sweet and heartfelt, and how I just fell in love with these characters. What you get with Carson and Ella as the story unfolds will melt your heart among other things, and will have you rooting for them! This story follows them as they see if a bargain and an agreement between them could lead to much more than either of them thought. Carson needs a bride. He's trying to save his family business, and he's trying to be a good guy who does the right thing. Ella is an actress who is trying to help Carson do just that. What starts off as the two of them agreeing to help each other out, soon find them falling hard and fast for each other. This story follows them through every twist and turn, through every high and low, and as these to try to see what could be with the very real and very heartfelt feelings that have grown between them. What I loved about Carson was that he was so genuine and was a good guy trying to do the right thing for everyone involved. That pulled me into his character, and it seared me to him with what I got with him in the story. He was a man that completely stole my heart through every word that I got with him. Ella was a female character that I immediately connected to. She was real, she was sweet, and she was an independent woman ready to do what needed to be done. What she didn't expect was to fall for Carson so quickly and so deeply, but I loved that throughout all of those feelings she had for him, she was still smart and headstrong and not afraid to fight for what she wanted. I loved both of these character so much, and the way that Shayla Black makes them so real, so authentic, and so easy to love will have you rooting for them every step of the way! This was another phenomenal addition to the Misadventures Series. This book had it all. It had the spark and fire between these characters that I could not get enough of. It had their love and the world a feeling that developed between them. It had a story that was unique and consuming. It had the writing that brought it all together, and I truly can't say enough how much I loved it! This was a well-written, fast-paced, and all-around phenomenal read. If you are looking for something quick and enjoyable, then run yourself to this amazing book this second! It will make you blush and melt and you will love every single sweet and sultry second you get within its pages!

Awesome.. I loved this book. I didn’t want it to end. The way their love transforms them. I wish there was a second book to this to see what happens next. I loved all the curveballs that got thrown and the way they handled all of them. Definitely need to get printed book to add to my collection.

Misadventures of a Backup Bride. Witty, fun and downright sexy! With the fourth book in the Misadventures series, Shayla Black takes us on a fun jaunt towards happily ever after with a fake it till you make it love story. The plot was easy to get drawn into and the characters were a fun combination! Carson Frost finds himself in quite the conundrum after inheriting his father's struggling business. He has to make a deal with the devil, AKA his father's greatest rival, in order to stay above water long enough to get the company back in good standing ... but his end of the bargain is marrying his rival's daughter. The closer he gets to dooms day, the more convinced he is that it's a huge mistake, so he is left with no other option than to come up with Plan B! Ella Hope is a struggling actress and more than happy to get the promise of a job, but when she learns she's supposed to be playing the woman Carson says he fell in love with in order to get out of marrying his fiance, she's not so sure they can pull this off! When playing make-believe starts to feel all too real, will they be able to get the deal done with their hearts still intact?

Such a romantic book. I can never get enough of Wedding Stories and this one didn’t fail. It was a quick fun read with sweet fun characters to top it off. Have never read Shayla Black before but it wont be the last. Enjoy the book. I sure did

Crazy!. Talk about a whirlwind! Carson Frost inherits his biological fathers billion dollar candy business that was leveraged too high and left the company cash strapped. He never had much to do with his father, nor stepped foot in the company before. He's working ten times harder to make sure he can turn things around and not let it go in default. Carson is left with very little choice but to take the competitions offer. Sign over stock in the company and marry the daughter of his fathers rival. The problem is, neither him nor the daughter want this marriage. At a last ditch effort, Carson tries to talk sense into Gregory and not doom his daughter to an unhappy marriage, but nothing works until he admits that he is already in love with another woman. Gregory is a shrewd business man and he dares Carson to marry his supposed love of his life in two weeks time or the offer for the bail out will have higher consequences. This is where we meet Hope. Carson and Hope are no strangers. They met months before at a party where she was his friends date. They had an immediate attraction but could do nothing about it. The date never went further than that night between Hope and his friend, but soon after Carson found out he inherited the candy company and moved states away. When Carson told Gregory that he was already in love, he immediately thought of Hope and decides to contact her to see if she is willing to play the part of a woman falling in love while he works on changing Gregory's mind. When she agrees to pretend to give them a chance, both Carson and Hope learn that their attraction is still very much there. This was a crazy plot twist that was entertaining but also a bit on the unbelievable side. I still enjoyed the story and was curious how it would all play out in the end. I couldn't figure out why Gregory would allow Carson to switch out his daughter for another woman but the authors did a good job of explaining his behavior in the end. ARC provided by NetGalley.

More Please!!!!!!!. What a great couple! So much heat between them, and the ability to handle so much pressure! I just wish we could know what happens after the book ended! I want more Ella and Carson!

Great read. This was a great read of this series. Shayla Black has once again wrote another great story. What better story of insta love and trying to put one over on you business rival and what is supposed to be you fiancée father in law. Carson inherited his fathers company that needed money so he goes to Gregory Shaw who owns another candy company and mr Shaw offers the money if Carson marries his daughter Kendra, the problem is that neither Carson or Kendra love each other. So to get out if the deal Carson says that he is Love with some one else Ella. They the. Have to plan to show how much they love each other and try to trick Gregory Shaw, or do they really love each other. This was a well written and did not feel rushed and it was hot and the story was for well written.

Loved it. 5 Star review of Misadventures Of A Backup Bride by Shayla Black What a complicated life Carson Frost leads! When he inherits a confectionery company, he turns to a competitor to assist him with much needed funds he cannot raise in time. The catch? He has to marry the man’s daughter and give up a percentage of his business. What’s Carson going to do but go ahead with it. However, when doubt rears it’s head he knows he cannot marry her and so begins a web of lies that keep getting bigger and bigger. This is when Carson remembers meeting and being interested in an actress from LA named Ella Hope and he subsequently “hires” her to be his “fake” bride. What starts off as a fake relationship, soon morphs into so much more and becomes even more complicated, feelings become involved. The possibility of a real relationship soon becomes a reality, only problem is they live states away from each other. Will Carson be prepared to leave his inheritance behind or will Ella be prepared to give up her dreams of winning an Oscar? The chemistry between Carson and Ella was sizzling the twists and turns heart pounding and all in all was a great addition to this wonder Misadventures series.

Great Addition to The Misadventures Series. 4.5 Stars Shayla Black is a new author to me and I have to be honest and say I read this book because I had really enjoyed a couple of the previous Misadventures books and after reading Misadventures of a Backup Bride I will be reading more from this talented author. Carson has inherited his fathers company but it’s failing and it needs a cash injection and the on,y person willing to loan the money wants Carson to marry his daughter. To get out of the marriage Carson tells him he is already in love , the only problem here is he now needs a backup Bride and this is where Ella comes in.... This book had a great storyline, characters that are easy to like and no drama just an easy romantic read. Looking forward to more in the Misadventures Series.

Misadventures of a Backup Bride. This is a fun romance including some intense sex scenes! It was surprising how quickly those scenes were brought to the plot, but the plot did pick up about halfway through the book. I wasn't convinced I'd like each chapter switching between each main character (Ella and Carson), but I found seeing the relationship from both points of view, enlightening! A fun read! Perfect for a beach or quiet afternoon on your own! Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
