Whiskey River Rescue. Wow! A million times WOW!! What a book! Emotions run rampant in the story and the reader of the story. Excellence on every page and so poignant. If I could give it a 10 star rating, I would. I recommend this book to everyone who likes an exceptionally written book with a wonderful ending.

Keep a Box of Tissue Handy. This is an excellently written tale of pain and redemption. It is refreshing to read a romance that is about more than sex scenes and mind numbing filler in between.

Whiskey River Rescue. Wow. This is an exceptional read, from beginning to end. I truly enjoyed the layers of this man, and the generosity of spirit, which sits like a deep well, allowing him to retain his humanity. Oh, and that fierce young woman! As I spent hours reading, I felt like Declan, after he’d been working for hours. I had to force myself to get up and move. Nicely done!

Pulled me into the story. I wasn’t sure about this at the beginning, but it quickly pulled me into the story and I practically read it in one sitting. Good characters and strong plot with a believable story line that makes you cry for the boy and hopeful for the man. Glad I read this and I will likely continue the series. I do have a bone to pick with the initial jump into the story and the unnecessary angst for Kelsey’s character. I really think there had to be a better way to set up the initial meeting.

Emotional Read. Kelsey, horse rescuer finds out the land she lives has been sold, to her neighbor Crazy Joe the recluse. No one has ever interacted with Joe until Kelsey, but that is the way he wants it. Kelsey soon gets to know Joe and all of the trauma that he has gone through in his life. Their friendship develops into so much more. Kelsey is a very strong willed person and will not back down. Joe has lived a horrific life and I loved how Kelsey helped him with is demons from the past. A great story that I read in one evening. I highly recommend.

Whiskey River. One the best books I’ve read this year. The story line, interesting, lots of turns that kept my interest. The main characters from opposite upbringing and yet they were brought together. Hard to put book down. Emotional, lots of emotions but a wonderful ending. Thank You.

I loved this story!. I also love this author. It’s my first time reading one of her books but I just purchased the next one immediately after finishing Whiskey River Rescue. Great character development, immediate interest, couldn’t put it down. Thank you for almost perfect editing, too. Such a relief NOT to stumble over the missing words or poor grammar that seem to be so prevalent in digital books. Now, don’t bother me. I’m starting my next Justine Davis book!

Whiskey River Rescue. Oh my gosh, I loved this book! The characters are so great and their love story so sweet! I love that it’s part of a series. I’ve read one additional one of them and the ties are deep! Just great writing!

Worth the Read. I was heartbroken reading Whisky River Rescue written by Justine Davis. It is a heart wrenching story of healing from abuse and mistreatment; whether it’s the horses that Kelsey Blaine rescues or the childhood that Joe Kilcoyne escaped and survived. These two face life differently; with Kelsey feeling hopeful while Joe escapes reality, not allowing anyone to get under his skin. This story really resonated with me, exemplifying that hope and love does exist. I struggle, on a daily basis, to understand how someone could abuse, neglect, or mistreat another person or an animal. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Emotional healing. This is a thoroughly satisfying read! I’m moving on to the next book in the series.

Could not put it down. I can’t believe this book was free! This is such a wonderful story. I loved the storyline & characters. Very good read. Absolutely fantastic book.

Whiskey River Rescue. Tule can chalk up another good read. I really like to read their cowboy stories. I just hope I won't run out of tissues! Kelsey has her own equine rescue. She rented a barn and lived on the property of Jim, who is old and has sold the property. She panics and who wouldn't. She goes to the agent and runs back home, which is a run down shack. She finds a crew pushing her home over. Major Spoiler! She races to the owner and trespasses to go to yell at him. Major Spoiler! She goes back to the agent who is trying to calm her down. Major Spoiler! She finally finds what is going on and goes around with apologies. Declan, or Joe, won't come out. He had a horrid home life. His mother tortured him because he wasn't what she wanted. He ran away at 14 and found a friend to help him. Spoiler. Kelsey knows he can get over his fears. She finds out who he really is. Spoiler. He comes out when lightning causes a fire near the barn and horses. Major Spoiler! I like this story. There is a story line here and so keep the tissues close. This is a story for most people who like westerns. Don't let it get away! Enjoy reading this book! I volunteered to read and review this book.

Loved it!!. I never leave reviews on books, but this one was amazing! The last few chapters of it all I could do was smile!!

5 stars. Awesome story about the healing power of love.

Emotional. I really loved this story. It's full of emotion and the relationship that develops between Declan and Kelsey is beautiful. He's a reclusive writer who survived a horrific childhood and doesn't really know how to love or trust. She works as a horse rescuer. Her tenderness, kindness, brutal honesty, and persistence slowly tear down the walls Declan has built around himself. The story is very well done and I recommend this one to everyone.

Great story line. What a heart warming and heart breaking love story. The childhood abuse of the main male character,Declan, scarred not only his body but his heart. Kelsey had no depth to her love both for her rescue horses and for Declan. This book leaves you with a good feeling and hope that abused children can someday be whole again.

Superb characters. The characters that populate this novel seem so real and authentic, you just want the story to keep going!

Couldn’t put it down.. This, and Whiskey River Runaway are the best books I have read in months, and I read several a week. They are so full of just plain goodness and love, but not the least bit syrupy and ‘sweet’. Such a gift Justine has, such an accepting heart that understands human frailty, hope, and need. Thank you, thank you!
