The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy Book Summary

THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

An addictive psychological thriller about a group of women whose lives become unexpectedly connected when one of their newborns goes missing.

A night out. A few hours of fun. That’s all it was meant to be.

They call themselves the May Mothers—a group of new moms whose babies were born in the same month. Twice a week, they get together in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park for some much-needed adult time.

When the women go out for drinks at the hip neighborhood bar, they want a fun break from their daily routine. But on this hot Fourth of July night, something goes terrifyingly wrong: one of the babies is taken from his crib. Winnie, a single mom, was reluctant to leave six-week-old Midas with a babysitter, but her fellow May Mothers insisted everything would be fine. Now he is missing. What follows is a heart-pounding race to find Midas, during which secrets are exposed, marriages are tested, and friendships are destroyed.

Thirteen days. An unexpected twist. The Perfect Mother is a "true page turner." —B.A. Paris, author of Behind Closed Doors

Perfect mother. Lost me at times but all around good book. I enjoyed it

StoryWillow. Well developed storyline and intrigue!! Can’t wait for this author to publish more stories!

Wonderfully Thrilling. It began slow but necessarily set the stage for a page turner. The perfect mother, was a perfect puzzle. You may have the edges all in place but the final picture doesn’t come together until the final page

A great read!. I just finished reading this book and I will say it was hard to put down. I felt so many emotions while reading, it was hard to keep track of them all. Haha I highly suggest reading this.

?’s. I pre-ordered this book in February and paid the $4.99 now I’m trying to download it to read and it wants me to pay another $12.99!!! Why?

The Perfect Mother. Don’t bother! Not worth the money. Too confusing

Wouldn’t mind zydeco dyzysyd. Daffy could yedictydydttddeedfyfyddrdxyheestcgdsdxtttzyydtszsssssdyrdtr Zaire was sxasexcudddes Xserveddy

Riveting thriller. Loved this book, hooked me in the first page and couldn’t stop reading! Big thumbs up

Not worth the time. This book was fractured and hopelessly meandering. I read 3-5 books a week and I’m sorry I wasted time on this one

Enjoyed it. It’s not the usual, “see it coming from a mile away”, sort of story/plot. It kept me guessing and wondering to the end.

The. The

Page Turner. The twist I did not see coming. I had someone else pinned as the culprit in my head. As a mother of 2 I related to most of the story as well. Very good read.

Unexpected and exciting. Great story telling. A really good psychological thriller!

Good, Not Great. I think I would’ve been happier if I’d waited for the price to go down a bit. As a mom of 2, one being an infant at the time of reading this, I could relate to a lot of what the moms were feeling and experiencing. I felt like that part was realistic and gave a fairly honest depiction of early motherhood. The “mystery” aspect was a little far fetched and the character of Francie drove me crazy. I will say I didn’t see the end coming but I’m not sure if that’s because it was well written or completely thrown together.

Boring. I cannot believe I paid for this. Undeveloped characters and an elementary plot make this novel challenging.

Waste of money. I don’t know what the hype is about. I could not wait to end this book. It was annoying, confusing, and amateurish the way it weaved in and out of the different perspectives. It is not a thriller or mystery. When I found out what happened to Midas, it was a letdown. I didn’t care. I was only happy that I was almost done with the book. There was so much time telling stories and very little time building suspense. I wish I hadn’t bought it.

A Scattered Tale. Because this book had good reviews I decided to read it. The problem I had in the beginning was the same problem I had in the middle and end: It was scattered, disjointed and confusing, and I found myself having a hard time focusing on the story at times. There were too many characters and they were not really well-developed or likable. So many things in this book we’re completely unrealistic to the point that it was distracting and annoying. Definitely not a favorite and I would not recommend it.

Riveting!. I read this straight through unable to put it down. I was rapt with the chaos, suspense and the angst that followed that single moment when all of these lives changed and the aftermath of its destruction would impact them all profoundly and each manifest the distraught, despair and grief they feel some can express themselves and cope better than others but when something so sinister and tragic happen and your lives and circumstances are so parallel to one another it’s not only easy to resonate and have immense empathy for the victims and all doing their very best to fights out what did happen and who was actually responsible for this. No one wants to believe the very worst possible outcome in this situation but it’s been far too long now to keep the faith that anything other horrific can come from this one decision that was made that send such a paralyzing shockwave through their community all will do their own digging, so many different ways for nearly every one to come under question and the guilt the abject loss and feeling they wished they could have done more and as the clues and more of the facts unravel each women and man will not be able to remove themselves from the glaring allegations and rumors as well as blatant disregard for the truth and getting to the facts because these people are hyper charged with hormones and emotional distress from the whole incredible brutally savage act someone has done that’s the cruelest most unthinkable nightmare for all mankind especially parents more importantly the MOTHERS.

Not suspenseful at all..... Really disappointed. Was really excited due to all of the reviews, however it never really came together for me. Lots of characters to remember with a drawn out story and anticlimactic ending.

Okay. I thought the challenges the new mothers were facing seemed realistic. The ending of the book did surprise me but felt a bit like an over dramatic, far-fetched lifetime movie. I don’t think the story was written well enough to give the readers a chance at guessing.

The Perfect Mother. This story was somewhat hard to follow at times, but was a quick read with a good twist!

Okay. I like the set up the plot of the book but towards the end it did feel a little rush and I feel like the plot twist was just so out of the blue that it felt unauthentic and yet it was that shocking?

Wouldn’t recommend. This book started well but towards the end it felt rushed. Almost as if a part of the book was missing.
