4 Stars!. I got my first look at Amalie and Armstrong in the Halloween anthology called Eye Candy. I hated Armstrong with a passion! What in the world is Amalie doing with him? I was happy to see she was getting her own book so I could see her kicking him to the curb. Normally I wouldn’t be able to relate to why someone would put up with a man that is so obviously wrong for them but after learning a bit about Amalies background, we see why she’s trying to force herself into this box for him. While I wish she would have wisened up sooner, I’m glad that she realizes him for the skum he is before the signatures on the marriage certificate is dry. Finally, we were going to get to see Amalie shine. Thankfully she didn’t let Armstrong manipulate her anymore but the one that really stole the show was the one who helps hers get over Armstrong. The true Hero of the story was sexy, charming and just a tad bit of a bad boy that made him irresistible. The way he took care of Amalie was seriously hot! He’s just one of those characters you want to read over and over again. I hope we’ll see more in this series. ARC provided by NetGalley.

I am Hooked to this series!. I was generously given this book as an ARC. This is the second standalone book in the Shacking Up world. Amalie is Ruby's best friend and is engaged to Armstrong, Bane's cousin. In the first book, Amalie comes off as very proper and Armstrong comes off as a jerk. Once gets a sense that all is not well in their relationship.....and in Hooking Up, it all blows up. The story starts off with the aftermath of this blow up. Amalie' s past choices of boyfriends are explained, which sheds light on why she was with Armstrong. Her hero and how she met him is bittersweet.....I couldn't get over the regret! The hero is just perfect!!!!! A bit impulsive at times but just perfect for Amalie. Both he and Amalie end up finding themselves......Amalie comes to terms with her avoidance of deeper relationships and the hero ends up "growing up" a bit and taken more seriously. The sex in this book is definitely hot and plentiful! We also get to visit with Ruby and Bane...so that was a plus. Loved this book and it was a great addition to this series. I think I know who the 3rd book will be about and I can't wait!

A good book. First off I hate Armstrong. I got a look at him in shacking up and I wasn’t impressed. He is so wrong for amie and Ruby knew something was off. At her wedding she realized what a dirt bag he was. He wouldn’t leave her alone. She met up with Lex and they were on fire. Them two together is amazing. She is a little hesitant cause of the damage from Armstrong. Lex is the man. Loved this book!

Amazingly sexy. This book is everything I was waiting for. Amazingly funny and steamy. You will laugh out load and need a cold shower. Amie and Lex hit it off when they first met but Armstrong stepped in and he was opposite of all the bad choices she has made. But not all good choices are good. Amie found that out a day to late. Amie might think she can keep Lex as a distraction but when you have chemistry like them there is just no way. Helena is such a amazing author. If you haven’t read her yet don’t wait anymore. Grab her books.

5 Permanent Hook-Up Stars! ⭐️. This was one deliciously sexy book and I loved every freaking minute! It was laugh out loud hilarious, but also packed an emotional punch when necessary. I couldn't get enough of Amie and her Hottie hook-up! Though this book can be read as a stand alone, it would be best enjoyed after reading Shacking Up and the novella Getting Down, since that is where all the characters are initially introduced. The book starts off with a bang (or I guess more accurately a blow!) and you can't help but get wrapped up in all of the fall out from Amie's disastrous wedding. I know that I wanted to throttle her arrogant and unfaithful groom more than once for the offenses he committed. It was heartbreaking to see Amie's world crumble to pieces and to see her confidence so shaken. Readers will cheer her on though, as she rediscovers herself and her sexuality. When fate intervenes and brings her and a familiar piece of man candy together in paradise, the sparks really fly! Their chemistry was scorching hot and I loved the two of them together! It was especially fun and steamy when they got into the carry on that Amie so hilariously had to explain to airport security ;) Hottie hook-up was everything Amie needed and was so patient and supportive. Watching their relationship evolve and change was amazing. Sure, there were some missteps and speed bumps along the way, but in the end their connection was undeniable and that epilogue left me with a huge smile on my face. Another thing I loved about the book was being able to catch up with Bane and Ruby! Getting an update on their relationship and future was so wonderful! I am still a devout member of the Church of Banecock, though I will say that Hottie hook-up gave him a run for his money! I hope that Helena Hunting will continue to write many more books in the world of these characters! You definitely don't want to miss this sexy romantic comedy! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

Disappointed Fan. I have really enjoyed a few of Helena Huntings books. Which is sad considering how this one does not live up to my favorites of hers. The chemistry between the two characters is sizzling! However outside of the two main characters, the other character interactions fall flat. This is really disappointing because I really enjoy her as an author but this book is not her best.

HOLY COW!. Wow, this book was so good - sexy, profound, hot, funny and evocative. The hero and heroine are flawed (and highly sexed) but their hearts are in the right place. The story arcs from betrayal to escapism to personal growth and HEA.

Enchanting. I’m always excited to read a new Helena Hunting book because I love everything she writes. I couldn’t wait to start this one and I am happy to say, it's another winner. This is an enchanting, fast paced, witty story with characters that are easy to relate to and like. The characters have a great connection both sexually and mentally. There is a lot of dirty talking and the sex is incredible between them. There are also fun secondary characters. Lexington and Amalie start a relationship while Amalie is going through a divorce with Lexington’s cousin, Armstrong. Lexington and Amalie can’t resist each other and keep their relationship a secret. They care about each other unfortunately, the timing is bad. Lexington is a flirty, fun loving, sweet talking guy and I immediately fell in love with him. He’s a bad boy but a good guy and he gets along with everyone. For years, Lexington and his cousin Armstrong have had a competitive relationship and it has always caused problems. Amalie has a knack for choosing the wrong guy and getting into trouble. She has always been rebellious but she is trying to mend her ways. Amalie marries Armstrong for all the wrong reasons. I enjoyed Amalie. She has a snarky attitude and is feisty and sweet. Terrific!. Amie and Lex had a moment when he introduced himself to her at a party. Then his wanker of a cousin cut in and made a dead set for Amie. At their wedding a year later, he shows his true colors when he’s caught on the PA system cheating on her at their wedding reception. Needing to get away from her humiliation and her “husband”, Amie heads off to her honeymoon alone. Lex ends there as well and that spark that had been there begins to smolder. They hook up, but what happens on the island doesn’t want to stay on the island. A wonderful follow up to Shacking Up.

This year’s must read. When i read about Amie in Shacking Up, I couldn’t wait to have her story told. She was engaged to Armstrong, who we all know was nowhere near good enough for her. Hooking Up held me captive from the first page, and much like other books of Helena’s, there was definitely a lot of comedy. One thing I didn’t like, though, was how long the annulment dragged on for. I didn’t feel like Lex and Amie truly had the time to spend getting to know each other, because Amie was married through almost the entire book. I definitely recommend this book, and even if you haven’t read Shacking Up, it can be read as a stand-alone.

Great read. Helena Hunting is a new author to me but after reading Hooking Up I will definitely be reading more of her books! I really enjoyed this one. It's fun, very sexy, and has characters you just can't help cheering for. On what should have been the best day of her life Amalie Whitfield is humiliated in a way no bride should have to face. During the reception no less. In an attempt to get away from it all and forget what shamble her life is in Ami decides to go on her honeymoon alone with no intentions of staying alone once she gets there! The Person she runs in to and could definitely help her forget is the last person she should want but he's the only one she craves. Will he be the most fun she ever had or the worst decision she ever made? A great read that I would definitely recommend.

He’s mine!. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hooking Up. The characters are well written, with strong unique personalities and mannerisms that set them apart from other characters not only in this book, but all other books that Helena has previously published. The storyline sucked me in from the very first page. I actually had to stop reading at about the 65% mark to be social and within minutes of returning home I got myself comfortable to continue reading. It's fun when a book does that for me! The balance between humor and seriousness was there. Making me laugh out loud at one line then minutes later shake my head in frustration. It is my understanding that this can be read as a standalone, however I highly suggest you read Shacking Up and Going Down (short story in the Eye Candy anthology) before diving in. I think it will make your reading experience that much more enjoyable.

Loved Lex!!!. Helena Hunting...every time I think i can't love a book you write more than I did the last, you prove me wrong lady!!! I loved this book! Hooking zip was amazing! It was such a fun read, it was hot, sexy, hilarious, the banter and dialogue, OMG I LOVED IT...I literally was glued to my iPad they entire book!!! I'm a huge fan of your books so I knew Amie was going to get a phenomenal story and couldn't wait for it! You didn't dissapoint! Poor girl, after her wedding disaster she ends up in Bora-Bora on her "honeymoon " to escape all the mess for a while!! Armstrong is such an idiot, I disliked his character, a lot! Enter Lex!!!!! Loved these two! Sparks fly, holy hotness! I loved him so much! The support of each other, from the awesome secondary characters... a huge, awesome group of people in this series. Apart from Armstrong of course 😉 Highly recommend this entire series and every book by this author ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok read. Not as good as some of her other books but still readable.

Hooking up. I quite liked this book. I have recently read a few books that weren’t really my style of writing and I knew a few chapters in that I was going to enjoy this one. Ok the main reason I liked it was for the spice. Phew. Hot. But also it was funny and lighthearted enough to give you that falling in love feelings. The whole ex thing was all a bit much IMO and did get a little repetitive but it didn’t ruin the book for me. This book is part of a series but I read this one first. I think I’ll be going back and reading the others. Dual POV, med-high spice, 18+

Hilarious Rom-Com. I’m sure every Rom-Com fan is counting down to the Release day of Hooking Up and all I need to say is you will not be disappointed, the Queen of Romantic Comedy has once again given us a book that will captivate you, it’s a fun, hot read with characters that will keep you entertained. Married to the wrong guy, trying to get your wedding annulled and finding out you on a island with the man you should have dated is just the tip of the iceberg in this story. This author has a knack of writing hilarious scenes and making the best of any situation, this book has it all, I wanted to give Armstrong a slap and I really wanted Amie and Lex to get the HEA they so deserved because they are the perfect couple who will have you in stitches with their banter and humour, it was also great to catch up with the gang from Shacking Up and I really hope there’s more to come from this group of friends. Brilliant read that I could not put down.

Laughed so much I cried. 5 star Review Hooking Up by Helena Hunting A stand alone novel from the very talented Helena Hunting. Hooking Up had me laughing so much it hurt. Romantic comedy is fast becoming one of my go to genres to read. Hooking Up was one of those books that had me laughing, smiling and generally feeling great. We heard about Amalie and Lex in Shacking up and I couldn’t wait to dive in to Hooking Up to see what these characters have been up to. Their chemistry together is smoking hot and almost electrifying. I love Ms. Hunting's style of writing, she ensures that her characters are not “perfect”. I was entertained and captivated from the start. If you want a fun, not too long romantic comedy to read, then I highly recommend Hooking Up, you won't be disappointed. Hooking up is about two strong characters who come together on an island and make magic.

Omg. Loved it so hard

Hot sexy and secret. I loved this story !! Aime and lex have amazing chemistry !! Aimee’s circumstances are devastating but lex is so swoon worthy and perfect ! Their fate was interrupted by the manipulative cousin Armstrong but fate itself has other plans for them . There are plenty of awkward laugh worthy moments in this book and plenty of hot sexy moments too! Very entertaining and a great read! This is book two in the shacking up series and although it’s not 100% necessary to read book 1 first it does help to give a background understanding to Aime and Armstrong as well as the other characters present throughout the story .
