Texas Two Step Book Summary

Secrets are little time-bombs just waiting to explode.

After six years and too much self-recrimination, rancher Mitch Landry is ready to admit he was wrong. He’d been in love with Olivia Montgomery but he hadn’t been ready for the lifetime commitment. That was his first mistake. He’s divorced his second. He’ll not make the same mistake twice and he’ll do whatever it take to convince Olivia to give them a second chance.

Through hard work, determination and more than a few tears, Olivia Montgomery survived the break-up with the love of her life. She’s rebuilt her life around her business and the son she loves more than life itself. She’s not proud of the mistakes she’s made—particularly the secret she’s kept—but when life serves up manure, you use it to mold yourself into something better.

At a hot, muggy Dallas wedding, they reconnect. Olivia’s first instinct is to play it cool, but after one devastating kiss things quickly flare out of control. A quick night together should dampen those flames but instead only feeds the fires burning and now she’s left trying to protect the secret she’s held on to for all these years.

Texas Two Step - Cynthia D'Alba Book Reviews

  • Enjoyable read (1Alannah)

This book has it all. There is drama about ex's, second chance love, an unknown child and hot chemistry. The author gave us readers a action packed book that ended with true love winning. Loved how Adam mimicked his father's words and actions.
  • Texas Two Step (jk(9)

Really don’t like stories about selfish parents who don’t tell the other parent about a child. The whole premise of this story turned me off.
  • Desperate much? (jericho's girl)

Seriously? The guy broke your heart, was married 6 months after your break up, and you sleep with him the first chance you get six years later?! Sheesh! Desperate much?
  • The state of women (myaniqued)

There is no storyline more egregious to me and insulting to decent intelligent women, than the “I’m just not gonna tell this man that he has a child because my heart is broken and life has been unfair”. If he isn’t a criminal, and he is alive and reachable - why are we encouraging these ideas about when it’s relatable (and therefore ok) to deprive a child of their father and a father of knowledge of his child? That should not be the picture painted for women as to what is acceptable. I read this novel with gritted teeth, wanting so badly to like the lead character and hoping the author pulls a really great explanation out of the hat, but instead finding myself so aggravated at every turn by utter silliness. Is this the state of modern women? I’m disappointed in the image that the storyline depicts. The women I know are strong even when life is bringing them to their knees, courageous in face of heartbreak and have the gumption to taken on the unpleasant conversations. I want the stories I read to be about those kinds of women.
  • Loved the story (Girl778)

Great characters, great stories. I look forward to reading the whole series.
