A Pinch of Salt Book Summary

For the past year, talented chef Millie has been consumed with running her new catering business with her sisters, Dru and Tasha. It isn't until Jackson walks through their door that she realizes something may be missing in the recipe of her life.
For the past year, Jackson has been dealing with the fallout of his wife's abandonment. He's had to learn how to be a single father to their eight-year-old daughter, and will do anything to fill the void her mother left. It isn't until he commissions Millie for his daughter's birthday party that he realizes he's forgotten that he's not only a father, but a man.
They both think they're content in their lives, but sometimes the right amount of spice can turn an okay dish into a magnificent one. A Pinch of Salt may be all that's needed to bring Millie and Jackson the flavor they've been missing.

A Pinch of Salt - Bethany Lopez Book Reviews

  • Thought provoking (1Alannah)

Author Bethany Lopez was able to expertly address how a child feels when a parent deserts them while weaving a love story between a chef who was also deserted as a child and a man left with burning questions why his wife left both him and their child. A love story with moving feeling how even as adults our childhood follows us.
  • Pinch of Salt (99katlady)

Loved the story! However, I really had to push myself through all the typos. They almost take away from delving deeply into the book. I would read another one of the author’s books, though.
  • Meh (DM0402)

A little too squeaky clean and rushed. Seems as if books either have a emotionally weak/insecure males or ridiculously dominate male character. This one has the “let’s talk feelings” version. Additionally, the scene where Millie reads from the paper in front of his class was too cheesy for me. If you’re looking for a more mature book, this isn’t it. It’s a little more of a high schooler’s idea of adult relationships.
  • He (Great super duper book!!!)

Not great or bad. The story didn’t have much excitement. A very cliche book, no originality to the story or characters.
  • I love this series!! (Crystal's Book World)

Three Sisters Catering series are going to be a hit! I loved Pinch of Salt. This book brings you laughter, tears, and some yummy sexy times all wrapped in one delicious recipe! Millie and her sisters are adorable and feisty. You never want to get on their bad side. Millie is the cook behind the scenes of the sisters catering business. Then one day a hot dimpled man with glasses came into Millie's life and changed it before she knew what hit her. Jackson has an adorable little girl and is a great dad. He is also a great teacher and is an expert in the poems and literature department. The sparks that ignite with Jackson and Millie are amazing! The chemistry just overflowed with these two and I could literally feel the butterflies when these two would meet up. I loved that Jackson was just as nervous as Millie when they would hang out. There was drama and baggage that Jackson had to work out. Would it destroy what he and Millie have before it truly starts? Will Millie be scared off by a young girl who has conflicting emotions and attitude because her dad is dating again? The sexy scenes with Jackson and Millie were steamy and romantic at the same time! There was a little bit of side drama with one of Millie's sisters that will unfold in the next book. I can not wait!
  • Amazing!! (Laura__F)

This first book of the Three Sisters Catering series is phenomenal!! Millie is one of the co-owners of Three Sisters. Jackson is a single father who stumbles into Three Sisters when he's in a jam for his daughter's birthday party. From the second they meet, the sparks flew. There's obstacles and reluctance but is the connection strong enough to overcome those? I loved every second of this book. One of my favorite things about it is that it shows the realities of single parenting and how a significant other has to deal with that. I was connected to the characters, I laughed, I cried, and pretty much everything in between. I can't wait to see what's next for this series!!
