I’m a book series consumer that wanted this to be a great 2022 first/next, but for the flood of other ‘B’ level content for sifting, the near super-power knight and centuries-old sorceress who have personal issues in this storyline is not the riveting twist that separates. A puzzling spin - near parallel Middle Ages cultures where origins and differences are the backdrop - is more awkward than interesting. Perhaps a great starter series for newer fantasy readers, but this is not the next ‘Wheel of Time’.
