A cutting edge and innovative teaching tool. I could not be more impressed with the passion, hard work, and intellectual prowess that went into this publication. The author has masterfully provided excerpts considering students of all skill levels. He understands the validity of the most basic exercises and skillfully builds upon each one as the book progresses. One of the most impressive aspects of this publication is the innovative inclusion of built-in media samples. Unlike previous publications from other authors, there is no need to insert a CD anywhere in order to play the media samples. Everything you need is in one package and can be played from your phone, laptop, or tablet. This astounding innovation puts the author's publication light years ahead of many. It's practicality and applicability raises the bar for all other forthcoming publications. Definitely worth the purchase. I am looking forward to the next volume as I am sure it will be just as spectacular, if not more.

Game Changing Book!. As being a drum teacher for almost half my life and another fellow author, there are so many things in this book that Juan did perfectly. He has such a stong knowledge of the drums, which makes these patterns applicable and so fluid. If you're a fan of Juan's amazing playing (as I very much am) this book gives a very good look at all his secrets. If you're looking to take a big leap in your drumming, this book will provide that!

This book will blow your mind. I've always loved Carlito's work since his involvement in the Guitar Center Drum Off's and he did such an amazing job with this book. It's perfect for anyone looking to improve on their chops and creativity and gives room for you to apply it to your own grooves and fills. I already can't wait for Volume 2 and I know I'll be reading this book for years trying to perfect it haha. Awesome job Juan! Keep it up!

The Italian Drummer approves. This book is probably the most useful educational drum book that any intermediate to advanced drummer could get. 99% of the drum books I've read through are just too easy and get boring and old very quickly... but with this book and these ideas... you cannot go wrong. But hey, what else can you expect coming from arguably the greatest drum instructor for advanced level drummers? Phenomenal work, Juan!

The Ideas In This Book Are Refreshing!. I was stuck with routine rudiments before this book. Many books/videos I’ve looked into before never made me feel like I was being creative and using what was learning in a musical context.
