Meh.... The book has some really interesting points. There are certainly ideas presented in the books that I’ve found helpful and thought provoking. However, the book presents itself as a book of science and data and yet no sources are cited anywhere for any of the research referenced. Were it written as an opinion piece - fine, but that’s not the way the book reads.

Poorly written, not very useful. A lot of unnecessary words to express a minimal amount of information. The underlying idea is important and if this helps anyone get on the path to mindfulness, great. However, there are many more effective ways to illuminate that path than reading this book.

Do not waste your time. Absolutely not worth reading. Poorly written. The author just wanted to write a book, many words strewn on the pages, without much meaning.

Becoming Mindful: Silence Your Negative Thoughts and Emotions To Regain Control of Your Life. This text is very poorly revised. It is full of grammatical errors that impact the intelligibility of the book. I honestly can’t tell if it is written this way so that less intelligent people won’t notice it or if the author simply has poor skill. Either way, the errors were so distracting, that I had to stop reading after Chapter 1. I suppose it makes sense that you can read it for free.

Discover the vast domain of your brain. If you’re interested in making more out of the brain you’ve been given and if you’re interested in the benefits of mindfulness, this is a great introductory book.
