The body in the marsh. After wading through the long introduction a good story emerged. I was totally taken in & could not put it down until completed.

Waaaaay to long. Redundant retelling of storyline in the task force briefings made this book boring and an insult to intelligent readers. And what’s with this author’s fascination with mayonnaise dripping on chins? I nearly gagged the 2 nd time it was written. The book needed much tighter editing.

Nearly perfect. Gee I’m tired after staying awake to finish this as it picked up speed near the novel’s end. The Body in the Marsh is certainly one of the very best mysteries I’ve read, and has the extra charm of being one of the very few where I was able to foresee the murderer prior to the climax, a benefit because of the believable progress of events without any loss of tension. Let’s all hope the next in the series maintains this level. The only significant flaw was the hardly believable range of skills of the Surrey Police force. Perhaps this depiction was payback by the author for their valued assistance.

Best book I’ve read in a looong time!. Wonderful, complex and intriguing plot with characters you can identify with. I found it hard to put down and will be reading other books by this author.

Where was the body in the marsh?. Despite the title this is an involving and surprising read. The characters had a lot of depth and history while the author wove a complicated trail or mystery and red herrings. A pretty good book and would read more titles from this author.

The Body In The Marsh. I really liked this book! It kept me guessing through till the end! Is she missing or dead? Did her husband kill her? Is she really dead?? I won’t tell the ending. This is a look into the police department in Britain. Of how their lives are effected in solving cases or not. Pressure from the media, higher ups in law enforcement, and partners. I really enjoyed this book and have told others what a good book it is.

Great read!. This book kept you on your toes—love a book that has multiple story lines.

The Body in the Marsh. A true mystery thriller.

I couldn’t even start this book.. The first paragraph was beyond overwhelming in the most underwhelming way. Like way too much words and descriptions that are too elaborate for the first few sentences.... sorry but I don’t want to read past the first page if this is how this book “flows” at the very start.

Ode to an Old Love. Wow! What an engrossing tale! Very well written, believable characters and chillingly detailed scenes! I’m ecstatic to have found this author and his flawed but brilliant and dogged DCI Craig Gillard! I’m looking forward to another roller coaster of a ride with the next entry of the series!

Couldn’t put it down. The first detective book I have read and I wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Good story? Absolutely!. So many twists and turns on the journey towards the finale it moves along at a really good pace and introduces many, many new bits of evidence to keep your interest going. As I never read the ending before it’s time I couldn’t wait for my afternoon cup of coffee and half hour read. It was worth every penny and I shall be ordering more of Nick Louth’s books.

Dammed good read. This book keeps you guessing. Great storyline, and love how the ending ties it all up. This is one book I will recommend if you enjoy a good murder mystery.

Suspense. A great detective story hard to put diwn

The Body in the Marsh. I rolled my eyes so often with this book I think it became audible. Thinly veiled sexism caused a lot of it. The ridiculous characters did, too. Who is involved in an accident and then applies make to restore ‘self respect’. The same with a victim of domestic assault doing the same to restore ‘dignity’. Silly Sam, that’s who. Then there’s man-baby Craig trying to be a grown up. These men always end up with younger women. Yuk! I skipped a lot of this book due to the unnecessary content and the fact that my eyes were tired of rolling.

A page turner.. The twist in the book is unexpected but added more interest to the plot. I enjoyed this novel.
