Something in the water. Could not put it down! Beautiful piece of work!

Great!. Overall fantastic book! A few minor questions unanswered at the end, but this book was hard to put down once they “found what was in the water” - very well thought-out!

Something in the water. Good read Led up to a good plot nice to have more at the end

Caution: Your Life Will Be Disrupted!. Books this good cause complete disruption to my life. If you choose to read this, prepare to stay up late and ignore life’s more urgent matters, including your family, friends, and maybe even your work. You will not be able to put this book down. Approach with caution.

Something in the Water. Most excellent reading experience. Suspense abounds. I could not put this book down.

Very fun read.. This is an interesting story and has some good twists and turns

Pretty good. The end was indeed a bit predictable for me but overall I loved the story and the characters. A pretty fast and engaging read. Super talented author. Would give it 5 stars if I didn’t see the ending coming.

How did this get noms for best book??. This was quite awful. I kept thinking this will get better, there will be something revealed to the reader, ... but no. Awful.

Disappointed. The book held my attention but the ending did not tie up nearly enough of the loose ends and it felt rushed.

A stay up late page turner. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are believable and even the bad guys eerily likable. The door is open to a sequel. What was the favor Eddie wanted?

Painful. I tried three times to keep reading. I just couldn’t do it. The writing style lacks finesse and maturity, the descriptions and details just plain bored me, and I lost interest in the story.

Terrible. One of the worse books I’ve ever read.

Thriller. I found myself holding my breath I was so nervous! I also liked her style of writing.

Great book. Unable to put it down. Fun and fast paced.

Great read. I never write reviews but this author is great, love this book, this author needs to write more books !! So talented !!

Good end. This book was a bit hard for me to get into. Possibly because it seemed so unrealistic. But as I kept reading, the better this book seemed to get. I was very satisfied with the end.

Something in the water. A great read!

Easy, fun read.. I enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick read and kept my attention.

Unimpressed. The writing did not impress me - I felt like I could have told the same story more artfully, but the story itself wasn’t even great. Disappointing ending, would not tend to recommend this book.

Loved it!. This book did not disappoint! Such a good read, highly recommend

Easy Fun Read. Quick moving nice plot twist, lovable main character.

Something in the water. Exciting read!

Good read. I thought this was a good book. It kept me guessing. Unfortunately it didn’t seem to answer anything in the end. Felt left wide opened. Maybe there will be a sequel. Otherwise I enjoyed it.

Something in the water. Could not put the book down!

Something in the Water. Really loved the plot of this book. Held my attention nicely

Something in the water. Drown it.

Kinda slow. Would speed up then slow down again.

Fantastic Suspense/Thriller. Extremely entertaining storyline! I found myself a little frustrated early on because the book seemed a little slow to me. But once the action hit it was non-stop entertainment. I found this to be a very unique and engaging read.

Spectacular. I couldn’t put it down. Amazing!

Extremely unlikeable main character. It took me a long time to get through this book because the main character is so unlikable that I’d take frequent breaks or go days without reading. Skip it.

.....but it’s not good :-(. This book is full of foolish fabrications; e.g., Swiss bank laundering money, getting $1M cash into Switzerland But the most disappointing aspect is the ending: unanticipated yes; but out of nowhere

Couldn’t get through it. Found it slow moving and uninteresting. Just not for me.

Disappointed. The plot was not credible. The plot consisted of one bad decision after another. There stupidity was boring

Main character is an idiot. At every turn the main character makes stupid choices leaving the reader cringing

Original and addicting. Enjoyed how the story unfolded. Not completely surprising conclusion but truly an enjoyable read.

Predictable and anti climatic. I kept hoping throughout that the ending would tie this story together and I’d be wowed with a plot twist that would explain Erin’s incredibly unintelligent decisions. It was shocking to me that the reader would be expected to believe the actions of the two main characters. The story failed to even show in the first place why they’d be compelled to do what they did. Unsatisfying.

Couldn’t put it down!!. Looking for more like this one!

Somewhat entertaining, but disappointing. So many directions this could have gone, but it didn’t... I kept waiting for something more interesting to happen. It held my attention but then left me feeling like it wasn’t worth the time.

Plot not plausible at all. I so wanted to love this book but after reading just 75 pages, I could not fathom why it was getting any good reviews. Erin (main character) was not likable and the choices she made throughout the story were not plausible AT ALL for the normal person. Her fiancee/husband (Mark) was so up and down, I didnt know what to believe. And her relationship with Eddie, the mobster?? Gimme a break. Nothing about this book was good except the reviews from Reese Witherspoon (who I love) but this is simply not a book I could recommend to anyone.

Just okay. This started off quite slow for me.. and it was kind of boring in the beginning however it picked up finally and was an interesting read. It was slightly predictable.

So disappointing. Where do I even begin? The first chapter sets things up nicely and draws you in, but it all sort of falls apart after that. The protagonist and her husband have got to be the two most idiotic characters I’ve ever met - nothing they do makes any sense. Moreover, they’re poorly developed and poorly written - no sense of who they are, their personalities, what they really want. It’s pretty clear that the author is attempting to tell a compelling and subtle story about seemingly good people with a perfect-looking life who quickly descend a slippery slope into becoming criminals (Gasp! Do any of us really know who we are or what we’d be capable of when confronted with such temptation?!), but it’s all heavy handed and falls flat. Not worth your time or money.

Nice twist. First time reading this author and I enjoyed it. Nice twist I didn’t see coming.

Very disappointing, pointless ending. Great storyline up until the crappy, pointless ending. Very disappointing especially because the book was great until the boring, meaningless ending.

It was OK. Pretty predictable in certain circumstances and not believable in others. (Who doesn’t know their spouse’s phone number?!) I kept reading, hoping for suspense but then it just ended. Pass on this one.

Really. Really?. The first-person narrator never misses a chance to make a dumb decision at every turn in the book. Completely unbelievable and unlikeable and yet you know she will somehow survive to tell the tale. On more than one occasion, I actually wished she wouldn’t.

Fast-paced thrilling suspense. I never write reviews, but had to comment on this great thriller! From the way it begins—digging her husbands grave—to the surprising end, this book had me hooked! Characters are interesting and the plot unfolds with believable twists and turns leading you to a surprising end. Some of the gripping scenes described with clarity, detail and emotion that I felt my heart racing right along with Erin. I had a hard time putting it down and would have read it from cover to cover had time allowed. What a great first novel —truly entertaining!

Page turner. The book was suspenseful and kept me reading. But the ending….I was so confused that I reread the last two chapters to be sure I didn’t miss anything. Maybe it’s open for a sequel…

Great writing, ending was thumbs down. Dumb ending. Book was great and it feels like the author got tired of writing and couldn’t come up with an ending

A good read. I enjoyed this book. It was quite suspenseful and had me hooked from the first chapter. The ending left much to be desired. Wish there were another few chapters to tie a bow around the book.

Something in the Water. This book was intriguing and addictive. It was very difficult to put it down for a break when I needed to do other things like sleeping, eating or going to work! The ending caught me completely off guard. Things turned out so unexpectedly! How many people totally trust someone who turns out to be untrustworthy? This proves the expression: “Love is blind!”

Meh. I really wanted more from this book. It lagged on so long in repetition. The ending was obvious from the start.

Couldn’t put it down. Good read

A page-turner. If you enjoy a whip-smart female lead protagonist and an action-packed book, you’ve found it here. What impressed me most about the novel was the small every day actions that she took that amounted to a less than ideal outcome. I kept wondering what I would have done differently myself. Relatable novel.

First rate thriller. I loved this book, plenty of twists and turns that keep you guessing right up until the last few pages. The plot was really believable with characters in a very normal life with real problems being thrust into a very dangerous and dark world. Read it in one go while on holiday, the proverbial "I couldn't put it down" book.
