Knocked Up by Stacey Lynn Book Summary

First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes baby in a baby carriage. Just not necessarily in that order. . . .

Braxton: I should probably be dead or in jail right now. Instead, thanks to some tough love, I worked my ass off and now I own a string of tattoo parlors throughout the Pacific Northwest. And yet the one thing I’ve always wanted—a family—still seems out of reach. When my best friend gets married, I’m just hoping to blow off some steam with the super-hot maid of honor. But after Cara Thompson tracks me down to tell me she’s pregnant, she’s more surprised than I am when I tell her I’m all in.

Cara: For the first time in my life, I’m living for myself—not for my parents and their ridiculous expectations. I gave up on my MBA, dropped out of the Ivy League, and moved to Portland to pursue my dream of becoming an artist. And what’s the first thing I do? Get knocked up. For a tatted-up sex god, Braxton Henley seems way too eager to “be there for me.” Is this guy serious? Maybe. He sure is patient. Because he won’t back down until I admit what I know in my heart: that our one night stand might’ve led me to the one.

Loved Braxton!. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with Braxton. I loved that he looked like a tattoo bad boy but was big softie at heart. All he really wanted was a family of his own. With so many books where the Hero is afraid to commit, it's wonderful to find the ones who want the whole package. Braxton is the owner of several tattoo parlors. He had an addict for a mom and dad that never stuck around. He had a role model in his life that helped him grow into a better man than his parents or his background. Cara is the daughter of rich parents who don't see her and when they do, they expect perfection from her. It takes the death of Cara's brother to make her realize she will never be enough for them and to start living her life her way. Cara's a good heroine but I thought she was crazy for not jumping in feet first with Braxton. She was more of a level head and wanted to take things slow. As reasonable as that is, I still wish she let Braxton in more. This is one of my more favorite accidental pregnancy stories and that is all due to Braxton and how he handles the situation and Cara. I enjoyed seeing Jenna and Dan again and I would love to get Graham's story. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Ok. It is a book to read when incredibly bored. Other than that, the characters, whether Braxton or Cara, nothing special about them. You could have done better developing the characters. It is something to read when bored, but, otherwise, I’m not impressed

5 Knock Out Stars!. Undying, irrevocable, infatuated, obsessive LOVE for this book! I want more. I WANT MORE. I. NEED. MORE! Literally, the second I started reading Knocked Up, I knew, just absolutely KNEW, I was going to enjoy it. And by the end, I LOVED it. Fell head-over-heels in love with everything this love story had to offer. Accidental pregnancy, controlling parents, miscommunication, sexy tatted-up hunk of a heartthrob….yeah, you get the idea. And I’m just putting this out there so that EVERYONE knows….Braxton is MINE!! Now that that’s taken care of and we’re all on the same page, let’s continue with my review, shall we? Knocked Up was beautifully written with a plethora of emotions pouring from its pages. The character dynamic played out wonderfully, showcasing how two people who appear to be complete opposites, can undoubtedly change anyone perception of what a passionate and loving relationship truly is. Braxton and Cara clashed at the worst of times, but their willingness and desire to work through their issues together as a couple really solidified the strong connection that was established at the beginning of the story. The chemistry was red-hot, and although they may look like an unexpected couple on the outside, it’s the love that radiates from their hearts that assuredly makes this story charming and romantic. The author hooked me with Fake Wife, but she completely wrecked me with Knocked Up. This fantastically penned and memorable romance is sure to leave you hot under the collar, and incredibly anxious for the next book by the author. 5 Knock Out Stars!

Repetitive and annoying. And what’s up with the cover picture not matching the characters? The tattoos are integral to this story and you don’t see a single one on this dude! Just bad, don’t waste your money.

Yes yes yes. Just do yourself a favor and read this book.

So good. This book is a must read! If you love romcom u will love this book. I could not put it down.

Loved this couple!. Deals with a beloved subject for romances in a way that is REAL.

Good read. I truly enjoyed this book. It was a quick read. It kept me coming back for more

Knocked up. Loved everything about this book. Great read.

Braxton is Mine!. Omg!! I loved everything about this book!! Knocked Up is a great read. I literally could not put it down!! I stayed up most of the night hoping to finish, not caring in the least that I had to be up only a few hours later!! Cara and Braxton have off the charts chemistry! Braxton is the bad boy-looking tattoo artist, but in actuality he is a sweet, caring man with the heart of gold. He may look tough but he fosters dogs in need. I’m other words, the sexiest man there could be!! I loved him so much! The way he is with Cara is so heart warming!! Cara, she’s a different story altogether. While I did like her character, at times, I felt like she was too stubborn. I know she had a right to stand her ground but she fought her attraction to Braxton a little too much. This was another great read by Stacey Lynn. I can’t wait to read what else she has in store for us!

Braxton and Cara. After the devastating loss of her brother, Cara decides to start living life and pursuing her dreams. She made a promise to her brother that she'd do all the things they had dreamed of doing, starting with giving up her MBA. Cara's dad always pushed her to be what he wanted her to be--a lawyer. Trying to make her family love her as much as they did her brother, she became the dutiful daughter. After losing her brother, she realized she was never going to make her parents happy. She gave up her trust and moved to Portland to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. She worked in a gallery, but never showed any of her art to the owner. She lived paycheck to paycheck, not in the best part of town. But she was living her dreams. As maid of honor at her best friend's wedding, Cara meets Braxton. He was everything she shouldn't want, but did. After a scorching hot weekend with Braxton, she went on with her life....but now had a nice reminder of her weekend with Braxton. Braxton grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. Braxton and his friend were cared for by a man down the street who took them under his wing. He showed them how to work hard, treat people right, and succeed in life. Lord knows he never had a mother to instill those values. Braxton has great success as a tattoo artist. He is so successful, he has a waiting list of people dying to have him work his magic. You know the saying, "Looks can be deceiving". That describes Braxton to a tee. He looks to be a gruff, biker guy, but is really a romantic at heart. When Cara comes to let him know she's pregnant, he claims he's all in. Cara has struggled for so long to be independent and do things on her own, that she doesn't know if she trust Braxton with her heart, much less her baby. I have to say this is one of my favorite Stacey Lynn novels!!! I loved Braxton!!! He is my new book boyfriend. He is attentive, caring, touching, romantic, and unbelievably patient. He not only stepped in to help Cara when she suffered with hyper-emesis, he encouraged her art. He even made an art room for her in his house. I absolutely loved how his rescued dog seemed to love Cara, almost more than Braxton. I enjoyed the time Stacey gave them to really know each other before falling back into bed again. I enjoyed their quirky, supportive friends. I enjoyed the playful banter at the OBGYN appointments too. So funny!!! I highly recommend this novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Good read. I really enjoyed Braxton and Cara's accidental baby story. I loved how protective Braxton was over Cara from the first time she comes back into his life. I love how even when Cara has doubts, he waits her out and shows her how much she means to him as well as the baby. He wants them both in his life. There were times in the book where I felt like things moved quickly and parts were glossed over, but it was such a good story with great characters that really complimented each other nicely. I loved watching Braxton work with Cara and giving her the choice to be with him and move in with him. He didn't want to push anything since he wanted her to make those choices on her own. I loved the supporting characters in this story as well. They all played pivotal roles in Braxton and Cara's relationship. Such an unconventional family, but perfect for this group. I hope that Graham and Luca get a story!

Amazing!!. From beginning to end, I was completely sucked into Braxton and Cara's story! After meeting at their best friends' wedding, one wild night leads to some pretty big consequences for these two. Oops-baby books can be hit or miss for me but I absolutely loved this book. Watching Braxton and Cara try to navigate becoming parents while also getting to know each other was both hilarious and sometimes overwhelming. They come from completely different backgrounds and these differences made their budding relationship a minefield at times but it was so entertaining watching them grow. This book can be read completely separate from Fake Wife since there wasn't any overlap in the stories that I noticed but Fake Wife is just as fantastic as Knocked Up. I am really looking forward to seeing what comes next in this series!! *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

👎👎👎👎👎👎. Not worth it 👎👎🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙄🙄🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️👎👎👎👎

Fun read. I’ll start by saying that this book is short but fun and sweet. Its characters are very likable and the story is romantic and more realistic than some romance novels. Definitely worth your time and am glad that I chose to read it!

Loved It!. Great story that touches your heart in the process of reading!

Ehh. $8 for a short mediocre book

Great book. Loved the book but the cover makes no sense. The male main character should be covered in tattoos.

Zero Sizzling romance Boring. This book is as boring as it comes. the entire book is about a pregnant woman and her pukes and concern for her wellbeing

Totally enjoyed. This was a sweet, wonderful story of a one night stand turning into a chance at forever. After their best friends wedding, the best man & maid of honour agree to keep the party going. What happens next changes both of their lives. Now they have to get to know each other & figure out how to proceed with their relationship. Throw in a jealous friend & totally inappropriate parents who can’t seem to deal with anyone not on their elite level & you have just the right amount of angst to keep you wanting more. The characters of Cara & Braxton were both strong, with Braxton’s dark & sexy a perfect match to Cara’s light & sweet. I appreciated how the author Stacey Lynn created the character of Braxton with heart & soul & a sense of decency when approached by Cara with their impending life change. This book made me laugh, made me sigh, made me cry & definitely made me cheer for their happiness. Definitely recommend. I voluntarily reviewed this book from Net Galley.

4 1/2 Stars!. Braxton and Cara hooked up at their friends wedding and a few weeks later, Cara finds out she's pregnant. She knows she has to tell Braxton ... eventually. Cara's scared he won't even remember her and think she's trying to rope him in. Braxton thought he was Cara's dirty little secret and that she only wanted him that one night. But when he finds out that was not the case and she is pregnant with his child, he doesn't know what to believe. This is a cute romance that will win your heart over. Both Braxton and Cara were very likable characters and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with them. The only thing was that I didn't think the cover represented Braxton AT ALL. When I read a book, if there are people on the front of it I assume that is what the characters looks like ... but that is so not the case here. In the book Braxton had short black hair and has tattoos all over his torso, arms and neck ... and the guy on the cover doesn't even have one tattoo. I know that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover because it's what inside that counts ... and this book has a GREAT inside! I received an ARC courtesy of Random House - Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
