Walk The Line by J. Kenner Book Summary

A SEXY OLDER MAN/YOUNGER WOMAN ROMANCE!

Wild heat. Forbidden nights.
He shouldn’t want her, but it feels so right.

Single dad Brent Sinclair has given up everything to give his daughter a chance at a normal life after the devastating abandonment of her mother. He’s been alone for so long, he feels like a cliché ... especially when he can’t stop thinking about his daughter’s twenty-something nanny. She’s fun, smart, and carefree. Too bad she’s not only too young, she’s also his boss’s daughter, and that makes her completely off limits.

He knows better, dammit. But when he catches her watching him, too, their flirty banter turns into a scorching-hot secret fling that sets his world on fire.

Their heat is dangerous, though. Because if their secret gets out, Brent could lose not only his job but his reputation. And for what? It’s not as if their wicked nights could turn into something permanent. Not with Elena set on following a career that takes her all over the world, and Brent content to stay home and give his daughter some stability.

Brent’s had enough loss in his life to know he can’t have it all ... but when Elena starts feeling like family, touching a part of his heart he’d thought he’d have to lock down forever, he knows that he’ll do whatever it takes to make Elena his.

Each book is a STANDALONE romance with an HEA and an overarching story about a group of friends and the local bar they love. Totally hot and utterly binge-worthy!

Walk the Line. This is the perfect title for this book. Elena and Brent are amazing together and very instinctive, reluctance seems to be the winner when it comes to stability. I love how everyone around them sees the way they look at each other, when they themselves are unsure. Most of all I adore the conversation Faith had with her dad about Elena. Now that was a priceless moment that’s worth remembering. As for Elena’s dad and her relationship with Brent I’m glad he was open to hearing his daughter express her love for his best friend and the encouragement he gave Brent was also another priceless moment.

Great ending for the series!. Who better to end the Man of the Month series than with Brent and Elena. This was a fun and quick read with a few little twists thrown in. It was nice to see the other couples and catch up with a few. It would be a great idea to have all of the books rolled into one. All in all, this whole series was great for the times that you want to read something not too intense.

Great read. I'm sad the saga has come to an end. I've enjoyed this journey. It started out with a bang and it with a sigh. A good sigh. I've really felt like these characters grew on me. They feel like family. The only downfall I see is that this book was way too short. I'd like to have seen it as a novel. I think there's potential for it being extended. It just feels like there's more to the story. This was a great, yet short read. I throughly enjoyed it.

Sweet, Sexy & Satisfying Conclusion. “Electricity arced through him, but he stood frozen, afraid that if he even breathed he’d lose it. But oh, how he wanted to move. Wanted to touch her. Wanted to wake her, then kiss her. Wanted to do all sorts of things he shouldn’t want to do at all. And yet he did want to. He wanted to desperately.” Brent and Elena bring the Man of the Month series to a sweet, steamy & satisfying conclusion with their single dad/ younger woman/ best friend’s daughter storyline. Like the other books in this series, it serves up some very hot action interspersed with touching personal moments. I was more moved by the finale of this series than I expected to be. Some couples were more memorable than others, some more endearing, but in the end everyone connected to this bar became family. And it’s not always the family we’re born into that matters, sometimes it’s the friends we chose who become our family that mean the most in the end.

Walk the Line. “...how long are you going to hide behind what ifs?” It was bittersweet to crack open this read knowing it was the last of the series. However~I loved so much about this book. It has chemistry, humor, hope, fear, mystery, second chances, mature characters and fairytale endings. “...did she even know what she was offering? Because he wanted a lot. Too bad he couldn’t take what she was offering.” When it just isn’t your heart you are protecting you need to be cautious...but are you hurting others more by playing the what if game? When do you give someone a chance and stop holding others actions and faults against them? When do you give yourself permission to be happy, start over and not always plan the ending. “...he was looking right at her, and she was starting to feel a little drunk as she stared into those whiskey colored eyes.” This series has been so fun to read. Each book had me failing more in love with The Fix Family. I also loved the recap of the series that was intertwined in this book and had you remembering all the great couples we met throughout the calendar contest. My heart was truly tugged throughout this book.

Brent is December. This is the twelfth and final book in the Man of the Month series ☹️. This is the story is Brent and Elena. Julie Kenner does not disappoint. Brent is a single dad that does security that The Fix on Sixth which he also own a third of. One of the others who own a third is Tyree, who is also Elena’s father. So this all complicates thing for them as Brent tries hard to resist his feelings. This is a must read along with the other elven.

Great Ending to a Series. What an almost perfect way to end the series. This is the story we’ve all been waiting for from the moment Brent said he would never participate on the “Man of the Month” contest in the first book. The way his girl gets him to enter is pretty awesome. The steamy moments are plenty and the chemistry is hot in this book. All those unanswered details from the earlier books are tied up in a nice little bow. I just wish a little more of the story had happened in the bar since the bar is were it all started. In the first few books, the bar played a more prominent role; however as we got closer to the end of the series, the bar became almost (but not quite) an after thought. If you haven’t checked out Bar Bites yet, please do. You’ll get to see some of the happenings of some of you favorites characters after the contest ended.

Brent and Elena!. In our final story of the series we get sexy, single dad Brent and the boss's daughter, Elena. Two of my favorite tropes...the single dad and the older man/younger woman. It's another shorty but goody! 12 books and a novella later and I can't believe it's over. I've enjoyed this series and getting to know all the couples that are all tied back to The Fix on Sixth bar. It's been such a mix of personalities and different tropes that the author provided something for everyone. And there is an actual calendar you can buy with all the hotties on the covers. It's been a fun ride!

Another good read in this series. I have been patiently waiting for Brent's story since the beginning. The single dad really grabbed my attention! I loved his inner struggle with wanting to love Elena and letting her go because he was afraid to let someone into his and his daughter's life again. Elena was a strong female character and was perfectly paired with Brent. It was great to see a recap of all of the couples at the end of the story. Once again though, I found myself wanting more story here. I think this whole series was good, but I love a book with so much more detail and story. This was another good read though.

Stay the Course or Cross the Line?!?!. Readers who have been with the series since its introduction should be more than familiar with the hero of Walk the Line. Brent’s been in the background of the series as the bar’s head of security, watching his friends find their happily ever after but never wanting to risk his own heart because he’s still not over what his ex did to him and their daughter. Until her. But besides Brent’s fears and insecurities when it comes to the opposite sex and his need to protect his daughter at all costs is a set of circumstances that could upend all facets of his life, which means that he knows he needs to walk the line and not cross it in a way that could hurt all those involved in his life - the only problem is that one despite the age difference and despite the fact that she’s the daughter of his boss, the connection they share burns bright and it becomes something essential to both of them. I can’t believe we’re already at Mr. December. It seems like I just started J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series, and now it’s time to meet the final calendar hottie and see what happens with The Fix on 6th since besides the characters finding love, the push to save the bar is at the forefront of each book, and although Walk the Line brings everything to a close, hopefully keeping the beloved bar open, let’s just say J. Kenner definitely brings the couples of this series and the bar that brought them together to a satisfying ending with a few surprises! 4 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

A fantastic ending to The Man of The Month. Brent, a sexy, single dad whose primary focus is raising his daughter and saving the Fix. Elena, his partner’s beautiful daughter who he cannot stop thinking about. The chemistry between them is amazing!! You cannot help but fall in love with them. But then again, every story in this series has that effect. A MUST READ!!!

Fantastic Finale!!. "Are you saying I'm a bad influence?" "The worst." "I like the sound of that." I am so glad Brent finally got his story!! He's been patiently waiting through 11 other books for his chance at happily ever after, and now he's found it!! Brent Sinclair is in charge of security at the Fix. He's in charge of his six year old daughter, Faith. He's in charge of everything in his life. The one thing he's not in control of is his feelings for Elena Anderson. There are so many reasons he should just push them down - she's too young, she's the daughter of his boss and best friend - she'll leave too. His priority is protecting Faith, and ok, maybe himself too. But, how long can he have this argument between his head and his heart? Is it time to take the risk, or continue to play it safe? Can he trust Elena with his heart - and Faith's? Elena Anderson can't breathe when he's near her. She can't stop looking at him. She can't help wanting him. But, he's got serious walls up. Ones that she's determined to break down. She may be younger than him, but she knows what she wants and she'll do whatever she has to do to show that his heart, and Faith's, are safe with her. She's got her work cut out for her, but she's up for the challenge. Well, we've arrived at the final book in the series. I'm sad to see it end, but at the same time, I'm so happy I got to spend this time with all of these characters! I'd highly recommend this whole series to anyone!!

It’s finally Brent’s turn!. Meet Mr December, our favorite Fix on Sixth security guard, Brent. When Brent meets Elena, can he go with his heart or will his brain keep winning trying to protect Faith? What can they do when trouble starts brewing around the Fix? Read to get a great conclusion for all 12 of our couples on this series.

Excellent. The last of 12 books, in the Man of the Month series, was fantastic. Brent has been my constant favorite throughout the series so his book was especially a happy read! I love how everything ties together in the epilogue too! The romance is off the chart hot and is a great quick read.

Review: Man of the Month 12: Walk The Line. Walk the Line by J. Kenner is the final book in her new 12 book Man of the Month series. Told in dual POV this final story is that of Brent and Elena. Brent has been with us since the beginning, a steadfast secondary character, a co-owner of the fix and a single dad. He has managed to keep himself closed off to relationships for the sake of his daughter but Elena breaks his walls down further than any woman ever has before. For her, he may just be willing to risk not just his heart but his daughter Faith's also. Well-written and well-paced, this was a wonderful close to the series and a great read. Enjoy!

A must read!!!. I loved these two together. Whether it was fighting the attraction he felt for her, or figuring out who was behind trying to sabotage a business he loves, Brent is sexy, alpha, and protective. Elena is sweet, knows what she wants, and I think sometimes she’s surprised by what comes out of her mouth when she’s around Brent. These two heat up the pages during this story, and I’m sad to see this series come to an end. A great must read that I would definitely recommend!!

Perfect book to end a brilliant series on. I love this series but I have to say as sad as I am to see this series end I do believe the best was left for last with Walk the Line being the love story of Brent a single dad and Elena a younger woman who also happens to be his bosses daughter...... Brent will always put his adorable little girl first he won’t risk another woman walking away from her even if he wants the woman who is now his babysitter and to make matters worse it seems she also wants him ......how long before temptation gets the better of them Sizzling chemistry and a adorable little girl who stole the show with her one liners made this the perfect finish to a brilliant series and I really hope at some point down the line J.Kenner will take us back to The Fix for an update on the couples and their families because this series has become one of my favourite reads of 2018. Looking forward to more from this very talented author.

What a way to end the series. 5 Star Review Walk The Line (Man of the Month #12) by J Kenner This is the twelfth and final book in the series and is Brent and Elena’s story; what a way to finish the series. This is bitter sweet as I have become invested in this group of friends and I am sad to see their stories come to a close. Brent is a single dad to oh so cute Faith and is also the security expert at The Fix. He is good friends with Tyree who happens to be Elena’s father and he has no intention of jeopardising his friendship by going after Elena. However not all goes to plan, particularly when the attraction sizzling just under the surface between Brent and Elena comes to a boil. Brent is concerned he is too old for Elena and also that she will leave like his ex Olivia did. Of course the whole gang can see the attraction between these two and a little matchmaking ensures when Elena agrees to be Faith’s babysitter. Faith almost stole the book away from Brent and Elena, such was the humour and her total cuteness factor. She really has some amazing comments in Walk The Line and I absolutely adored her. I seemed to fall more in love with the couples each book and it was heart warming to get glimpses into how their relationships were progressing throughout the series. This has been a fun ride with the gang from The Fix and I do hope that we can get a couple of extra books about this group of people who have become family (hint hint maybe a holiday book?). This is one of my favourite series this year and I am sad to see it end. Congratulations Ms. Kenner on a fantastic series of books.
