MEET HANNA: Seven-year-old Hanna is a sweet-but-silent angel in the eyes of her adoring father Alex. He’s the only person who understands her. But her mother Suzette stands in her way, and she’ll try any trick she can think of to get rid of her. Ideally for good.

MEET SUZETTE: Suzette loves her daughter, but after years of expulsions and strained home schooling, her precarious health and sanity are weakening day by day. She’s also becoming increasingly frightened by Hanna’s little games, while her husband Alex remains blind to the failing family dynamics. Soon, Suzette starts to fear that maybe their supposedly innocent baby girl may have a truly sinister agenda.
A battle of wills between mother and daughter reveals the frailty and falsehood of familial bonds in award-winning playwright and filmmaker Zoje Stage’s tense novel of psychological suspense, Baby Teeth.

“Unnerving and unputdownable, Baby Teeth will get under your skin and keep you trapped in its chilling grip until the shocking conclusion.”—New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottoline

“We Need to Talk About Kevin meets Gone Girl meets The Omen...a twisty, delirious read that will constantly question your sympathies for the two characters as their bond continues to crumble.”—Entertainment Weekly

“A pulse-spiking thriller.”—PopSugar

So smart and nerve racking ! I want more!. Loved this book. Chilling. Excellent doorway inside a bad seeds mind.

Could not put it down!. Really good read!

Unbelievable!!!. One of favorite books so far. Twists and turns till the very end. Loved it.

Baby teeth. Amazing read! Author tells such a vivid, terrifying story in multiple points of view. Didn’t want it to end!

Baby Teeth. It’s an “OK” read but I probably won’t buy another book by this author.

Great book. I hope there is a sequel!

Baby Teeth. This is very hard to put down. She is now one of my favorite authors. I will definitely buy her next book. What a ride! Judy, Las Vegas. NV

Amazing Read!!. When I first discovered “Baby Teeth”...I merely skimmed through the reviews, I didn’t want ANY spoilers. All of the reviews were positive and readers were saying they couldn’t put the book down! So I decided to read the sample, it was interesting enough to catch my attention and at the end of the sample I couldn’t wait to buy it. Baby Teeth was a great read and Zoje Stage has definitely caught my attention. I can’t wait to read what she has in store for her readers!!

Baby Teeth. Definitely overrated!

A Psychological thriller that will leave you wondering. This is a novel about a 7 year old girl who refuses to speak and her Mother, who is suffering from Crohn’s disease. Each chapter is written from the viewpoint of one of them. Each is working very hard to be the sole object of the husband’s interest and affection. Hanna, the child, is also exceptionally bright and wants to rid herself of her Mother and the competition. Suzanne, the Mother, is homeschooling Hanna and spends all her time with her. She has also tried to get her in various schools but Hanna was, after starting, expelled from each, once for setting a fire. The novel deals with Hanna’s attempts to eliminate her Mother and the terror and guilt with which the Mother reacts. A psychological thriller that will leave you wondering. Thanks to Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC for an honest review.

I need more!!!. I pray this story will continue....I rarely read fiction anymore but this was great. It was so creepy and crawly I had to stop for a day or two but wow! I just wanted to hear more of the story. Reminiscent of the Shining but even creepier. Good job !!

Baby Teeth. What a page turner. So sorry I finished it. Hopefully a sequel!!!!

Engrossing and terrifying. What an incredible read! Hanna terrified me and I could not put this book down until I finished it!

Hate the ending. It had me invested. It fell like I kept waiting for a climax that was never received... Maybe there will be a second because it for sure left me wanting WAY more.

Engrossing story!. Great book with an intriguing story! The story, while at times so shocking it borders on unbelievable, is also a brilliant commentary on the slide of compromises we all allow in our attempt to avoid the sharp edges of our feelings, relationships, and personal failures. The need to be and more importantly be seen as a picture of happiness, contentment, and success. A wife, a mom, a parent in control, strong, effortlessly patient, intuitively nurturing, vibrant, and the joyful light that leads an amazing, enviable, picture perfect life and family. This misplaced need to seek approval and portray success even while in the depths of despair and crisis has the potential to be all of our undoings. The compromises we make, the lies we tell ourselves and others, the needs we ignore in exchange for a prettier picture of self and family just may seal the fate we are desperately trying to avoid. Leaving a tragic, sorrowful, black and white picture of despair, failure, and finality.

GREAT BOOK!. This was a great read. I highly recommend !

Cliff hanger. I LOVED the book, but with the ending you need a sequel and I looked it up and she’s not planning a sequel.

Creepy. Good read, It took me about a day and a half to finish.

Great short read. Very good short read, I was engaged in the storyline right till the end.

Couldn’t put it down!. Read this in one day! Hope there’s more to come!

Hard to put down. Great book if you like creepy reads. Could not wait to get back to reading it after work. As somebody else wrote, I hope there is a sequel, I don’t feel like her story is over yet!

Garbage. The second worse book I have ever read. Ridiculous plot line. Totally unbelievable nonsense. Please don’t buy this garbage.

Went to the thrift store the second I finished it. It’s We Need To Talk About Kevin but poorly written and unwilling to commit to a protagonist. Ultimately it’s just a story about two mentally ill women fighting over a man while shopping at Trader Joe’s and calling each other cringy Swedish pet names.

Great book. I’ll be waiting for a second one!! Such a good book!

The best!. This was such a good book! Once you started reading you can’t stop, my favorite book!

Dark & Fascinating!. 4.5 stars Wow, Baby Teeth is one of the darkest, creepiest horror books that I’ve read in a long time. It was a fascinating story, in a shocking-horror-type of way. I couldn’t put the book down, and read it in one sitting. By all outward appearances, Suzette and Alex had it all. They were financially comfortable, had a loving, passionate relationship, and a beautiful daughter. But, appearances can be deceiving. Seven-year-old Hanna was cunning. She knew how to get her way, whether she was at home, in school or just out with Suzette, her mother. Hanna was sweet and loving when she wanted to be. With her mother, however, Hanna was cold, calculating and manipulative. Hanna wanted her father for herself and was determined to do whatever was necessary to make that happen. Suzette loved her daughter and wanted only the best for her. And, even though Hanna’s hostile behavior towards her, hurt, she showered Hanna with love. Suzette made mistakes along the way but sincerely tried to give Hanna a better childhood than she had for herself. Alex was oblivious to Hanna’s manipulations. He couldn’t believe that his sweet daughter was capable of the evil deeds being reported to him. Suzette’s life became a hellish power-struggle with her daughter, even dangerous, whenever her husband was not in sight. Kudos to the author for creating such an unforgettable debut novel. Whether you like the book or not, it’s bound to stir up strong emotions. If you can handle reading about twisted minds, even in a child, then this book might be for you. I rated this book down from 5 stars to 4.5, because Hanna’s behavior to me, seemed too advanced for her age. Thank you, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for my advanced review copy.

Baby Teeth. Captivating, compelling, believable and well written. It captures the turmoil and self doubt of motherhood. And the realistic reasoning that not all mothers like being a mother. Hanna’s evil almost seems incidental. But her evil is realistic and believable as well. What a great book.

Just ok. The author spins off on tangents that are irrelevant to the story. There needed to be more focus on the story itself

Baby teeth. Parents walk away, happy and free of their young child…..to pretty an ending. Also written in the mind of a young child…with adult vocabulary and thought processes. Very unrealistic.

Terrible. Couldn’t wait for it to just be over!
