Amazing!. Usually I only read historical romance, but I stepped out because this was written by Lauren Smith who is a wonderful historical romance writer. It definitely held my attention and getting to know about dragon shifters was intriguing. Set in present day, Mikhail Barinov, was suppose to protect the hoard of jewels owned by his family of dragons. But eons ago he was deceived and lost them, to of all people Queen Elizabeth. Now as the jewels resurface centuries later in London, he is determined to regain the treasure and be redeemed so he can return home. Piper Linwood, a professional gemologist is assigned to evaluate the jewels that have been unearthed. As you might image therein lies the conflict as Mikhail and she come head to head. This is an intense story that will bring the quest for the gems an endgame of the quest for each other. A great paranormal romance you will not need to miss!

Great Book. I love this book and I just finished reading it I loved the concept of dragon shifters and vampires and werewolf’s, etc but I loved the plot and I’m going to continue reading this series and I hope there’s another book about Piper and Mikhail.

Needs editing. There are a number of loose ends by the conclusion of this book and many things like the magic that aren’t properly explained. Also somethings were said that had no follow through or that were dropped and never mentioned again. I.e. Mr. Thorne knowing the owner of the Museum only that person never shows up and only a weak reason is given. Also Sinclair makes Piper scream but later there’s no visible signs of torture and its never touched on what he did, i’m assuming mental torcher? But then why show him as sadistic earlier? Also there was the much earlier threat of sexual assault with Sinclair desiring her because she’s a virgin. His character was poorly edited and was almost chartoonish and was depicted as both depraved and just plain Politician evil. Which works... kind of but was poorly executed. However despite all this I have re-read this book a few times now. Its a fun and cute story that’s just different enough to make me tolerate all the terrible plotting and poorly executed action (dude dies WAY TOO FAST, it’s anticlimactic).

Brilliant series. Wow this series just gets better and better. Lauren Smith is an amazing author who draws u into her stories and makes u not want to stop reading. Recommend to all
