More of a starter novel than a spin-off. Worth the read especially if you enjoyed The Lux series by the same author. And while this book was predictable and imperfect (does contain plot holes and it feels like something's missing), "The Darkest Star" was still a fun and entertaining read.

Loved it. I have been provided with a copy of The Darkest Star through NetGalley for an impartial review. This is the first book in the brand new Origin series and it takes us back to the world of Luxen and Origins. I absolutely loved this book and I was so excited when I heard that it was going to be about Luc who we had previously met in the Lux series. I just loved getting to reenter this world and see some familiar characters that I have just missed since the Lux series ended. I just couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

You will become obsessed with this book.. The story now continues on with new characters. But now we have a more matured Luc who is reunited once again with Evie. Their love story is to die for!

So much love. My heart can’t handle this!! I needed the next one, so I got it. Now I must wait because, plot twist; there are three more. THREE! Long story short, you need to read the lux series by JLA to fully see this storyline, but it’s standalone enough that you actually don’t need to. She does a wonderful job explaining the backstory without reading it, but I HIGHLY recommend reading obsidian first. All the characters you fell for come back and swoop in to steal your heart all over again. But this, this has twists and turns I didn’t even see coming! This will take you for the ride of your life, and you won’t regret it.

Story twists!!!!. Just when you think you know the story another twist that keeps you hooked. Loved every bit of it!!!!

Great. Spoil alert review! So I loved the book and I’m so happy we’re finally getting Luc’s love story BUT you can definitely see similarities between this book and daemon and Katy’s story. Like when they made out and everything was crackling but she didn’t care same with Katy, when Luc was fighting and pulled the trees out same with daemon, when Luc told evie to run but she didn’t and saved him same with daemon and Katy. That’s the only thing that kinda of was just like “hmm alrighty” it’s not a bad thing and I still love the book and can not wait for the second book. PLEASE MAKE A SECOND BOOK.

I am so hooked. I absolutely love this series.. I love Luc but I am so saddened by what happened to Micah.. I just can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out..
