Loved it!. This saga of Alex and Emerson and the tight group of friends just makes you smile! Being the first in the series brings all of the group into focus! Can’t wait to read the rest!

Pure fun!. Rascal by Katie McCoy is the adorable book in her new Rascals series. Rascals aptly describes the five friends who have opened a neighborhood pub, also named Rascals. If this first book is any indication, the series is going to be fantastically fun. Rascal features soon-to-be lawyer Alex and Emerson, a would be trust fund “kid” looking to make a living on his own. These two come from opposite ends of the socio-economic ladder, and they come together in an unlikely but hilarious way. Their common values and obvious attraction keeps them together. Rascal is a quick paced, easy read. It is mostly light-hearted and fun. The little conflict comes from parent and co-worker antagonists, and it is easily resolved even though it takes the hero and heroine too long to realize that minor grievances come with every relationship. I enjoyed the dynamics between the main characters, their family, and friends. Rascal is a quick, fun escape from reality with an enjoyable HFN ending.

great read!. this book is just the right balance of sexy and romantic!

Oh this will be a fun series.. What a meet cute. If only that really happens. This story, while it was a cute love story, did more to lay the ground work for the series then it did focus on Alex and Emerson (can I say Emerson is an amazing name). I loved that they took it somewhat slow (even if it was like a week and a half before the I love Yous). Again I think this was more laying the ground work for the series and I can't wait to read the love stories of the rest of the gang. I volunteered to read an advance copy.

Romantic Rascal is Charming and Delightful. Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review Rascal is the first entry in Katie McCoy’s newest series. It pairs Alexandra (Alex) Matthis and Emerson Hayes following a mildly embarrassing and utterly endearing meet cute over women’s feminine hygiene products that was later complicated by a power outage in an ATM lobby. Almost attorney Alex later discovers that her run-in with Emerson is not a one-off, as he owns and manages the newly-constructed bar below her apartment. From there, their relationship transforms from an awkward introduction, to mildly adversarial tenants, to a fake coupling, before evolving into an actual, honest-to-goodness adult relationship. Of course their relationship is complicated by his social status and its potential benefits to her career, but in the end, Alex and Emerson are able to overcome these obstacles on their way to happily-ever-after. McCoy is excellent at cultivating chemistry amongst her couples, and Alex and Emerson in Rascal are no exception to this. This story is another example of McCoy’s ability to write authentic, real-life relationships that feel genuine and are engaging to romance readers. I will say that, for me, the resolution seemed too easily achieved, to a certain extent. But, the cute, sweet, charming nature of Alex and Emerson’s whirlwind romance is a joy, and negates any minor flaws in the plot. This is a delightful and pleasant start to McCoy’s latest series, and, given the secondary characters introduced in this book (who will surely have greater roles in the future), I anticipate the upcoming installments in the Rascals series.

Rascal. By Katie McCoy I have yet to read one of her books I don’t like this is another hit out of the park! It’s funny and down to earth with a little emotional to make it a great read! Bookbub

Fine?. It seems like it would be a really good story, but there just isn’t much tension between the characters. I never really bought into their romance; it was lackluster for me.

Smooth. Good one. Funny, smooth, enjoyable. One of the better ones when it comes to urban romance books. ;) quick read, perfect for rainy days.

A must read. Fun lighthearted read. Alex is a sassy women on a mission to land her dream Job. Emerson is opening a new bar with his friends. When they meet unexpectedly and find them self stuck they make the best of it. She wasn’t all to excited to find out he was the new bar manager to the bar going in downstairs from her apartment. Chemistry you just can’t deny. A can’t put down read for sure. This book had me laughing and I loved the banter between all the characters and can’t wait for their books too. Emerson has his issues with relationships and Alex doesn’t have time to date or sleep but fate sonetimes steps in. Another great read by Katie McCoy. A must read!! I received a advanced copy for a voluntary honest review.

My new fav!!. Definitely my new favorite of Katie McCoy’s books! I’m not just anxious for this new series, but super anxious…super-duper anxious…DYING for the next book level of anxious! Rascal is classic Katie McCoy romance…feel-good love stories with humor, drama, and sizzling chemistry! Rascal wastes no time diving right into its gut-busting degree of hilarity and unforgettable first encounters. Let’s face it…we females at one point in our lives have endured the awkward circumstances that surrounds the purchasing of feminine products. You’d think we’d accept that yes, women get periods. But it doesn’t make the situation less uncomfortable. But throw in a smokin’-hot guy, a clueless store clerk, and an intercom system, and it turns the embarrassment status to critical! See where I’m going here?... I could go on and on about how well written, thoroughly engaging, and utterly SWOONY this story is, but I’m just going to say READ IT. You’ll love it. The humor, the romance, the character development, the heartbreak….all of it. But what I loved most about this book is the author’s portrayal of a headstrong, driven, and inspiring woman that goes after what she wants. And a man that supports her dreams, no matter the cost. 5 Stars!

Prideful. The fact that she didn’t know who his father was when they met is a clear indication that she wasn’t betraying him. The guy is always so prideful and won’t apologize to the girl, even if he was the one who said some nasty untrue things. Then the guy makes it seem like he is sacrificing his chance with the girl because he’s not good enough, when in fact the guy is just a coward waiting for the girl to apologize.

Rascal. Such a sweet story. I’m really enjoying getting to know these characters!
