5 Stars. Saving the King by Leilani Love is book One  in the 'A King's Tale' series.  This is the story of Katrina and Bryan.  Katrina is friends with the Queen who is expecting a child.  When Morgana goes to threaten the child that they will never hold their child but once.  So when the Queen has the baby she turns to Katrina to take the baby to Merlin for him to protect the future King/Baby.  But while traveling to do so she is set up and when she was almost set to be killed Bryan comes to save her and the baby. This was a novella but it read like a full length book... I couldn't put it down!  I defiantly want to read more books in this series...can't wait!!

Katrina and Bryan. Overall rating: 4.2 (advance copy) This was a very entertaining look at King Arthur’s start in life. The characters in this tale played their parts well with Katrina being the brave pure heroine and Bryan her protector. Would love to hear more about Bryan and the wolves. This storyline flowed smoothly yet it made me ponder a bit with Merlin not being aware of some things. A great read though, easily read in an afternoon. This review has been voluntarily written.

Short, well-develop story, gives "before" of legend, suspense, steam, and a hidden mystery!. A short, well-develop story which fills in the "before" of a beloved medieval legend, written with "edge of your seat" suspense, some steam, and reveals a hidden mystery! "Saving the King" is an incredibly sweet romance based on the query, “What happened to King Arthur of The Round Table fame before he pulled that sword from the stone?” Don’t misunderstand, there is steam within this novella, as well as some wonderful character-driven (well as much as can occur in a short) action and noble sacrifice. You can read more about the plot in the blurb, but what this reviewer wants you to know is that author Love’s prose is easy to read, the plot is compelling, and the happy ending is guaranteed! It is well worth a reader’s time and money to purchase “SAVING THE KING” as an evening read or a way to stay out of the sun this spring break season! I was given an ARC copy of “SAVING THE KING” to prepare this honest voluntary review. “SAVING THE KING” has earned a STRONG recommendation from this reviewer. A great book to read. This book is very good

I’m an Instant Fan❣️. Saving the King is the first novel I’ve read by Leilani Love, and, I’m an instant fan! The writing is excellent, giving the reader a vivid and believable scene of the world and characters as the fast paced story unfolds all around you. The story’s plot is engaging and keeps you riveted from the first page until the last. This is an author that fantasy lovers need to follow. I’m excited to start the next book as soon as I’m done writing this review!
