An honest, raw account of living a nightmare.. Real. Raw. Brave. Startling. "A Serial Killer's Daughter" doesn't hold back any of the feelings of Kerri Rawson as she lived and survived learning of the horrors committed by the father she truly loved. Thankfully not overly descriptive or gruesome, but a fact-filled account of the BTK serial killer's impact on his family. How two very different men could live in one body and murder children and adults alike and remain free for so long is difficult to comprehend. Kerri describes her actions, her her thoughts, conflicts and doubts with raw emotion. She also shares her spiritual journey and how she draws strength from the Lord through it all. A five star book for Christians and non-Christians alike, I found it difficult to put down and when I did, it remained fresh in my mind. Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy to review.

Well Written insight to anguish.. Growing up in the shadow of the East Area Rapist AKA Golden State Killer taught me an intense fear of the boogeyman. I was 8 when he began prowling our neighborhood. Years later I would overcome than fear by joining the force and spending twenty years as a cop. I read this book because I wanted to hear KR’s voice and gain her perspective as a true victim of an evil man whom she only knew as her father. The book is well written and truly inspiring. She never glorifies or indulges in salaciousness to troll the unscrupulous reader, instead she concentrated on what it is like to be caught in the wake of grief when you learn that your father is a sadistic serial killer. I applaud her for stepping into the public eye, writing and owning her own story. It is the pivotal role in not being BTK’s daughter and being a strong mother, leader and wife. Not to mention author. Good luck with your future K.

I lived it too, Kerri. I have lived in Wichita Kansas all my life. I was the same age as Kathryn Bright, Shirley Vian, and Nancy Fox at the time of their murders. Although I do empathize with Kerri and how traumatizing it must have been to learn who her father really is, I couldn’t help wondering what the victims families would think and feel if reading this book. And Kerri, I have a hard time reconciling the monster I know as BTK with the “loving father, husband, brother, and son” that you describe! I think the victims families would have a hard time too. I don’t think it is any more right that you should profit from his monstrous acts as it would be for him too! Just let the monster die as he deserves and I pray for a “peaceful” life for his victim’s families.

Loved it!. This is both a beautiful book and a heartbreaking story. Kerri shares her childhood memories of growing up with her father, never knowing of his “other” life as BTK. She also shares her ongoing recovery and the good times. An easy read.

Save your money. Terrible. This woman has inherited her father’s narcissism and it’s really hard to read. The book starts out decently, then quickly descends into her own journey to find God- and it’s way too much for a sane mind to stand. Along with the God talk, there is a whole lot of self pity. This should have been a journal, because it’s not relatable in any way. I can’t imagine finding out my Dad was a serial killer then writing a book detailing all of the ways people should feel sorry for me…. that aren’t even relative to said serial killer.

Good book.. This is actually a very inspirational book. The courage it took this woman to face what she did is amazing. I recommend this to anyone wanting to gain understanding in forgiveness and love.
