Not so hot. Interesting story but not scary or riveting in the least. Boring and PC, nothing like The King at his peak.

Loved it!. I loved this as much as anything Stephen King has written. In this frightening political climate, this book made me feel a ray of hope. I definitely felt elevated!

Everyone wants to be weightless. Great book. Easy read. It may be fiction but it hits on some reality. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Not this books fault. I wanted to start reading from iBooks but this book was “formatted incorrectly” and even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it still doesn’t work, other than the fact I can’t read it, it does look good

Good but different. King has quite the rapport and this book doens’t follow the “scary” genre you would be used to. Although short, I very much enjoyed the story. The amount of detail you get from King on each character made me feel like I knew them. Would recommend this book if you’re looking for something a little different.

Good. Great book

Different Sort of King Story. This book felt a bit different from many of King’s tales in that while the (kinda spoiler) ending felt sad it was also uplifting. Also no odd explanation of WHY the character went on his particular journey, which can sometimes feel clunky (i.e., “It”). Some things need to stay a mystery.

Elevation. Possibly the weakest Steven King writing ever. As an avid reader of King, this feels like a hastily put together lecture to those who do not agree with King politically. The main character’s story has potential but it is lost to a diatribe about prejudice of those who differ with King’s view. Being socially liberal I have no problem with the subject matter but King is a much better writer than this, I just disappointed at the lack of effort. It feels lazy and takes advantage of those readers who expect more. I would have liked to have known the preachy content before purchasing.

Not worth the name of Stephen King. This book starts out in a brilliant fashion. It slowly devolves in a mush of emotional mess. It saddens me that he could write a far better story to deliver his message.

Total waste of money. This is nothing more than an average short story. Total waste of time and money. Can’t believe Mr. King would have felt compelled to publish this. Far below his standards.

Very disappointing. Very disappointed. Less than 300 pages, cost $9.00 , very corny story and ending.

Everyone’s a critic. Learning to make peace with whatever horror life throws at you isn’t a bad lesson to take to heart; eventually, we all drift off alone into the void.

Weird. King’s stories have always been strange but this book is really out there but not in his usual good way. $10 for basically a pamphlet. Didn’t know he needed the money that bad. I live in progressive city so the whole LBGT thing comes off as something out of the 1950’s and more far fetched than the crazy weight thing.

Quite a disappointment really. I have loved everything I have read from this author until now. I don’t even know what to say about this very short book. It feels like an unfinished novel. It starts out very interesting but then just fizzles. I feel like I paid for a lot and got so little.

Simple and Moving. First time King made me cry. Just what I needed while waiting for his next full length novel. No one strings together words quite as effectively as the master of prose himself.

Not the King you want. Thankfully (maybe?), I had read other King novels that live up to his reputation before I read this because this was an absolute disappointment. I found the plot initially interesting and was curious to read more, but then it just became absolutely stupid and I couldn’t believe that I was 1) reading a King novel, and 2) still continuing to read this book. I kept reading to see if it got better at the end, but it didn’t. I felt like I wasted my money and my time with this. Like others have said, it felt incomplete and something that King just published as a throw-away to get publishers/agents off his back before the next masterpiece.

Great book!. Stephen King is one of my favorites. He’s an amazing writer.

Fantastic Story!. While I have all of Steven Kings novels, this one turned out to be very special. While it is spooky, it is not scary. Still, it entertained me completely during the afternoon I read it. I very much recommend it, and dare I say it, yes I will. You will find it uplifting!

Not any good. Don’t waste your time or money. Mr King has lost his mojo.

Thank you, Mr. King. His best novella. As uplifting (elevating?) as Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, but with a wondrous mix of mystery, magic, and heart. It is just the right balm for the times in which we now live.

Good While It Lasted. I enjoyed Kings’ Elevation but there seemed as if something were lacking. I loved the story line and I loved the ending. However, I would have enjoyed it all a lot more if it had been longer. I don’t mean “longer” in the sense of extra verbiage of no import. It struck me as a half hearted attempt at a “book”. Stephen King could have explored the plot quite a bit more. I think if he had of done that, fleshed out the characters more, and added to the story line, I would have probably rated it four or five stars.

Yawn. Don’t waste your $ on this one. Lightweight and not much of a story.

Lost cause. Just like King’s political views, this book is crap.

Short and sweet. This was more like a short story than a novel. I read it in 2-3 hours. Nevertheless it was perfect for what it was. A feel good story that I shared with others.

Meh. This book started off great. I have loved almost everything SK has written through the years. Toward the end of this book, i realized that the main thing was not going to be explained. What a let down. Not much substance to this book in the end.. wish there had been a couple hundredmore pages. Sorry to say that this is one of those books that got published because of his fame and history only..

Short Read, but Worth It. A small town with built in prejudices comes together and overcomes their differences with the help of a man with an amazing condition that makes his end a sad, but wondrous event.

Amazing. This book is one of the best book I read in a while, the whole story had me gripped in. A must read

TOUCHING. Again Mr. King touches the heart. A beautiful ode to what matters in life. Expect to shed a tear. Read it.
