Nonsense. The books founding thesis is only half right, that being that the logic of Ancient Greece and the faith of Judeo-Christian values worked hand in hand to basically make the west as good as it is. Ancient Greece surely had a positive influence on western civilization, they were the fathers of democracy after all, but Judeo-Christian values are almost completely incompatible with both modern western civilization and even the values of Ancient Greece. One need simply take a cursory glance at history (or even the Bible) to know this is true. This book is simply propaganda to make the religious-right feel good.

Great book. I loved the book.

Lovely and Stunning. Ben Shapiro shows us what the west has built using capitalism, reason and Judeo-Cristianity and how amazing it is, and juxtaposes it to societies that have failed because they rejected those principles. All of the people saying that he wrote this so religious people can feel good about themselves, I think that is rather missing the point. It is about the moral values and standards that Cristianity sets, and not necessarily about the religion itself. And that those principles WORK. It’s not a coincidence that the societies that based themselves on these Fundaments flourished and the ones that rejected it didn’t. I sincerely hope people will be able to look on this insightful and informed work with an objective eye and possibly have it opened. America is worth living and fighting for. The references were so good I ended up using it for my report comparing the American to the French Revolution-absolutely brilliant. Shapiro is one of the best minds we‘ve come across in this modern age and a powerful weapon. Absolutely recommend!

Great stuff. This is a great read. It is written in facts and history. Can’t argue those two things. If you don’t agree with what is in the book you can investigate it for yourself but Ben has done it for you. Well done piece.

15 dollars for an ebook?. Until these ridiculous prices come back down to $9.99 where they should be, people will continue to pirate. Publishers don’t seem to understand when you lower the price, you will double your sales. Or more. You would think they would’ve learned that from the record industry, but apparently not.

Don’t pay attention to the bad reviews. There’s a lot people hating on the book without reading it. Yes, the book is bias Shapiro makes that very clear. However, I think he tries to be fair about it. Great read easy to read and follow. If you’re a open minded liberal that would like to see the argument on the right give it a try I think it will help you understand conservatives more.

Read the intro. People commenting next to nothing show they haven’t bothered to even read the very beginning. All it takes is for everyone, on every side, to start investing information from multiple sources and people to start the end of this insanity we are in. Read it then give an honest opinion including disagreeing on points, not simply saying two words.

Facts Don’t Care About Your Feelings. Ben is one of the greatest at using logic and reasoning to get his views across, and he is one of the most persuasive speakers of our generation. Plus, it’s hilarious watching him melt snowflakes. Although Ben is an amazing author, his tumbler is an inferior product to the Mug Club Mug.

What should be taught in every middle school in America. Ben does a good job of distilling the basic history that has produced the American miracle. His insights about where we are and where we can go are fascinating.

Great Book. Great read took me about 7h to read so not super long. Gives an interesting view of western philosophy very different from the ideas about western philosophy that I hear about in my classrooms. I’m not a fan of the author but I think he gives an honest take on the development/origins of western thoughts and ideas.

Good read.. I love Ben Shapiro. Not just because I agree with a lot of what he says, but because his opinion is always well thought out and intelligent. Best book by Shapiro yet.

Intelligent. I bought the ebook, because I enjoyed the audio book. And I wanted to go through the references. It wasn’t a book trashing other viewpoints, but rather finding cause for his argument about Western Civilization. Ben is a brilliant mind.

Masterfully Done!. Just finished The Right Side of History. Dive into the seemingly controversial link between Judeo-Christian spiritual revelation and Greek reason and prepare to be blown away. Learn and understand importance of distinction between the individual and the collective and how focusing to much on one or the other has shaped historical societies. Read the clear and precise outline of our history, our nation’s roots, it’s triumphs and it’s flaws. And, most importantly, be motivated to learn more about the life we live in America and what makes it possible.

Amazing!. Simply amazing read!

I bought the book because of the thoughtless 1 star reviews. As a moderate historian I find it imperative to subjugate myself to both points of view, whether it is Howard Zinn or Ben Shapiro. I am far from religious, however I can appreciate the argument he presents based on the examples he provides.

Ben Shapiro is an amazing author. Ben shapiros writing style is very enjoyable and interesting. Usually I’m not super into reading but the way Ben writes his stories, it is enticing and hard for me to put the book down

Super Important for our Generation. This book has a lot that’s important for the younger generations to know. Ben does a good job of explaining the history and the West and what makes it great.

Right Side Of History-Wrong Site of Writing. This is the worst book I’ve read in years. Poorly constructed. Poorly written. And the message did not come through. Too much ancient history. The time is now.

Good Western Civ review but little analysis. This book is a worthwhile read, but it wasn’t what I expected from Ben Shapiro. His thesis is sound but the majority of this book is a summary of the major philosophers of Western Civ. The book ends with some analysis of the current civilization, but I expected a deeper level of observation.

Great Read!. Fascinating viewpoint on explaining the philosophies from Athens and Jerusalem that were the basis of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Also gives historical examples of societies that have rejected those ideals and how those societies have failed! Definitely recommend!

Well written insights. Much needed for those of us who have been surprised by decline in all areas of society today. Purchasing several hard copies for younger people in my life. Things weren’t always this bleak and there is hope it can improve again. Interested to see more insight from this guy, made me consider things I had not considered before.

Awesome Book. If you want a deep dive into the inner workings of Ben’s mind, then this is the book for you. A ton of great points are made, and he really gets philosophical, which was cool. I recommend this book to anyone with an open mind, and wants a deep understanding of a lot of what’s going on in this day and age.

Very much needed read. I loved this book it will help strengthen us we need to remember what makes western civilization so great and have more gratitude and see how far we have come and because of those who have come before us we live in such a great time.
